Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement, Tammy. 🥰 Although it must be said that, as "en plein air" means "in the open air" or "out-of-doors" in French, this particular piece was technically more of a hybrid: painted on location, yes, but -- as I mentioned in the video -- significantly improved upon in the studio.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Cindy! :) Sometimes a painting is such a disaster that it's pretty much unsalvageable, but occasionally one will pull through.
Great work! And whole ambient looks relaxing plus your voice is very pleasing to hear. I could imagine myself just sitting, near you and listening quietly. I subscribe! Looking forward to seeing how a "small" town/city really looks in the USA. Regular everyday life, not that movie cliche. It will be nice to draw lines ( comedy genius ) on what we do similarly and what not in rural Europe and the "rural" USA. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best.

i so wish i had an outside place to paint. i am on a indepent living place for us 80 year old . town connected to Austin Texas where one can paint cars and bad traffic. me without a car - oh well. thank you for your efforts.
And thank YOU for sharing, Skye! Having briefly lived in Texas without a car (San Antonio) that's a challenge for sure. I completely empathize -- ooof. Zoos or parks can work in a pinch, but yeah, it's hard for a nature lover to live in a major metropolitan area. In recent years Austin has gained a reputation as an artistic hub. I've heard that some urban sketchers meet up at Zilker Botanical Gardens from time to time(?) I can look into it, if you'd like. In any event, I'm grateful that we like-minded creatives can virtually travel to places we might not have seen otherwise and connect with one another. The whole world is at our fingertips! :)

Interesting teal and mixing abilities. Enjoy watching your videos as you plein air paint. I’m also a watercolorist who enjoys outdoor work. Teal isn’t in my palette (I’m from New England).
Oooh, I'm guessing your trees are so very beautiful to paint this time of year. 🍃 🍁 🌿 🍂 Teal/turquoise pigments are indispensable out here in the West, as they can serve as quick mixers for sagebrush, cactus, blue spruce, olive trees, various prairie bluestem grasses, etc. etc.
Nice job pulling that together.

I did! ☺I hope to put together a video about it in the near future. And yeah, the whole Sangre de Cristo Mountain region is amazing. Can't wait to visit again...

@@59jaguar Wow, how cool is that?? (figuratively AND temperature-wise. haha. Adobe is a miraculous material). 😎
@@LauraGYoung I am pretty sure it’s still there overlooking the Rio Chama . Only negative thing about the experience were the hordes of mosquitoes that came out after the sun went down (I was sleeping in a tent too)

Transparent watercolors look their best when there's minimal to no correction; that being said, it's still super satisfying to be able to save a piece. :)
