It'd be cool if when discussing a frozen water inlet valve they actually showed the parts in the freezer instead of deli slices. Just my thoughts.

Was there ever a greater example the too technical and the completely irrelevant? It's a masterpiece.

When I bought the refrigerator after it got to temp it made 2 trays of ice. Now after a week it seems to dump about once a day. But not always. Is there a sensor to stop making ice if the bucket is half full? Thanks

Did you know that a faulty ice maker could be a problem for people who like ice cubes in their drink? I didn't until this video adeptly pointed it out.

Does anybody know where to get a cheap filter? Is there any other refrigerator makers that has the same filter

Where is the filter? I wanna know where it is located on the 17.2 bottom freezer with ice maker.

@@user-pp5ew9ii8cThere isn't one. Best thing to do is get an inline filter from Amazon or home Depot and install it yourself. It's easy.
Personally from what I read, watch and experience. These GD refrigerators from Hisense, SUCK!!
I had a Kenmore, same design. Ran for 13 years without one problem
Then the compressor finally died. When they told me it wouldn't be worth fixing, I bought the Hisense bottom mount, w ice maker. It made 2 trays of ice and filled, but wouldn't dump. I waited a day, no dump. I called support and they ran me through the typical check list. Even said, unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes and plug it in. Nothing. Then he said, take a hair dryer and defrost the ice maker. Melt the ice in it. That sounded insane but I did it. Now, that did work, and it made ice fine after that. For about a year. Then suddenly I noticed the ice maker wasn't making and, the ice was clumping and the frozen goods were getting soft. It was running, but cooling was less and less. So I looked in the back, thinking the condenser coils were all dusty. There aren't any. Just 2, sitting in the drip tray. So I figured thats why ice maker wasn't working, duh right. 1 year. So I called support. Come to find out. Warranty service SUCKS. They don't just send a repair person. They use stats. Past records of repairs, to decide what is the problem. They start a case, order the part they believe is needed then tell whatever tech that is, desperate enough to do warranty work you're information. Then they send him the part and when he finally gets it, he calls and sets a day for the work. Initially they assumed it was the heating element for defrost. But that is only if freezer is cold fridge not working. Mine was actually the opposite. The fridge was staying within acceptable temp around 40 to 44. Not perfect but cold enough. The freezer, is supposed to be at 0 or 10 below, was getting warmer daily. So he decided it was the compressor. And ordered that. All this took about 2 weeks. I tried coolers of ice. That was ridiculous. I ended up having to spend 200 bucks on a mini fridge. To live. While everything In the freezer turned to mush. You only have so much room in a mini fridge freezer.
He finally came and installed the new compressor. And the freezer and fridge started coming back. The next day the ice maker started making ice but,,,the fridge only got to about 50 degrees. It would get to 44 or so overnight but took forever to recover when you opened the door. I waited about a week. Then I called him. Figured he'd come check it out and see what was going on. Nope! Gotta call the company again and make another case.
Thank God I didn't return the mini fridge. They said, it's the damper too allow freezer air to the fridge or the fridge sensor. Same procedure. But, they only send him the damper. No sensor. He never calls me. So finally I see by the work order, part received send tech. Nothing for a few days. Finally I call him. I tell him it sounds like the fan is messed up because it starts and stops. I do some research. The fan is also on the list of possibilities. Thinking, they would send him everything he needs. Nope. He came out without calling, just showed up at 9 am. I'm here. He comes in acting like oh nothings wrong. He's in a big rush takes the few things out of the fridge the shelves etc and opens the chute panel for the damper replacement. Takes about 10 minutes removed old damper put in new one, slap's it together and after I kinda persist, he pulls the ice maker pops the rear panel of the freezer compartment and says, the fan is kinda frozen in. I see it's running but hitting ice surrounding it. I ask, can't you hit it with a hair dryer and why is it icing up anyway. He puts it back together and and says. Just unplug it while you clean it up. The ice will melt by itself. He spent all of an hour here. Then, when I started cleaning it I noticed he didn't put the cover to the chute on right. So I pulled it to see why it wouldn't seat. He'd torn the foam insulation on the damper taking it out and never straightened it out. Nore did he clean out knat eggs in the chute. That obviously got there during warm fridge with the few bits of food. My fault for leaving anything but never knew it'd take weeks to get here. Fridge still warm. Ice maker doesn't dump and now the company says, no more tries to fix it. We're authorizing a new replacement. After 2 plus months without a working fridge. Thing is, I can only afford this same fridge. If I want this style with ice maker. When I bought this. I fully expected at least 10 years of repair free service. But honestly. Looking for a different brand even more expensive. I read similar horror stories. No matter the brand. Or I'd be tempted to take 500 outta savings and spring for a different brand. This fridge was manufactured in 2022. Used 1 year. And these results. Disgusting. Is too mild.

Who would of thought that my ice maker may not make ice if the temperature is too high?! 🤔
