    There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, more enjoyable for me than hearing fighter jet engines roar and echo in the air. Indescribable feeling.

      A little known fact is that the first major combat operation by US forces in the First World War was 50,000 troops under the command of General Sir John Monash, Commander of the Australian Corps, making up a total of 250,000. He is known as the originator of combined arms tactics. He planned his operation of creeping artillery, aircraft, tanks and soldiers to take 90 minutes. It took 93 minutes. Apparently General Pershing didn’t want his troops to go into battle at that point though believing his troops weren’t trained enough, and was perhaps deceived by Monash. Casualties on our side were quite light so maybe this was overlooked afterwards…
      Of course we Aussies totally respect the support we got during the Second World War too! My grandfather served with many US troops. I’ve also served with US forces in my time in the navy.

    I live in Port Macquarie and we get these awesome machines flying over every few days. They do their training up and down the coastline from Newcastle to just past us. Seen them a number of times over the ocean only about 100mtrs up bloody awesome seeing them that close in formation. Especially the ones going past under full burn💪

    I heard it in the distance but didn't go out to look as previous years it was gone in a couple of minutes and by the time we heard it and looked up between high rise buildings it wouldn't be where we looked because at jet speed it left that sound way behind so we'd spend most of the time looking around confused - so I was surprised this year to hear it went on for 10-11 minutes of more - so thanks for posting this video
    reminds me of a previous year we went to the Illawarra Airshow where an F22 did a full-throttle low flyover - and it was so loud I was screaming as loud as I could, and I couldn't hear myself over the jet noise - and my recorded video - again with the microphone next to my mouth - you couldn't hear me screaming - only the awesome jet noise - WAAAAAAH !

    • @MrSchwabentier
      @MrSchwabentier Před rokem

      there is no such things as "stealth missiles" and it also can't hit stuff 500 miles away...

    • @michaelbartley9572
      @michaelbartley9572 Před rokem

      It can detect jets up to 400 km away and America is building5 new missiles and we don't know exactly what they'll be capable of but I believe one for the f35 is radar jamming. They're also making missiles that will have 2 rockets so it can reach way farther. Once one is spent it kicks it off and relies on the second. Honestly we don't know exactly how far the f35 can track and hit cause its classified. And it could probably see s300 and s400 from a pretty good distance.

    WHY WHY WHY does Melbourne never get any fighter jets on Australia Day? We have had more Australia Day protests than proper fighter jet displays here!!!!

    • @puffin51
      @puffin51 Před 2 lety +1

      One probable reason is that Melbourne is, what?, 800 kms further away from Williamtown, where these aircraft are based, and their mission radius without IFR is only 1000 kms, and only that much if they don't use any afterburner. Mind you, this has similar implications for defending the north of Australia, too.

    • @nfa_utube
      @nfa_utube Před 2 lety +1

      @@puffin51 want to see an f-111 return? :D they always manage to get a super hornet here for the F1 though, and this year even that will not happen because F1 organization decided that all countries can't have fighter jet displays because it's "damaging to the environment" XD

    • @puffin51
      @puffin51 Před 2 lety

      @@nfa_utube You're asking me what I want? Me, I'd like to see the RAAF equipped with both an air superiority fighter capable of flying from forward fields AND a long-range strike aircraft. rather than an attempt at a compromise that is neither.

    • @nfa_utube
      @nfa_utube Před 2 lety +1

      @@puffin51 in reality though what options exist for a strike fighter with payload and range comparable to that of the f-111, and with cost palatable to our expenditure?

    • @puffin51
      @puffin51 Před 2 lety

      @@nfa_utube Good question. Back in 2003, we could have had the Eurofighter Typhoon, with nearly twice the range, a much greater payload, and far better operability, but no, we had to go for stealth, as if the RAAF was going to be required to attack Russia. We could be now planning to upgrade to the sixth-generation Tempest. Instead we waited 20 years for what we don't need. But now after we've paid an arm and a leg for it, we have no choice but to make the best of it. But the best is half the order not yet delivered, and the rest at Williamtown because it'll be another year or two before they're actually operational. IF all goes well. Only nothing has gone to budget or schedule with this aircraft yet.
