- Every year, beginning right about now, speckled trout move into a pattern that is consistently great. Literally, for me, it's the easiest way to find and catch them, and the fish are often as big as 22 inches.
On my most recent trip, I went exploring for new areas to fish this pattern, and it didn't take me long to find a bite that was as good as it gets!

You, sir, are the Richard Gene of South Louisiana! 😀 I live along the Alabama Coast not for from Dauphin Island, AL. Last week I went to see if the Specks showed up in my honey hole and son did they! Caught 17" to 20"s and had my limit in 30 minutes and left them biting!

Those were some nice trout! I believe it was changing to the Green Hornet Matrix Shad. I've been catching trout over here in Jacksonville using the Holy Joely but, I started catching bigger trout on the Green Hornet. The reds like it too! The smallest red we can keep here is about the largest I want to keep, 18 inches.

Great video. There's no way I would have left that last spot without throwing a Super Spook, just in case big Bertha was down there. I caught a 21" on top last Friday, so you never know.

Flounder rules....I used to surf fish a lot at Fourchon, and I'd always get a bunch in late summer there. Definitely the most underrated fish, in terms of table fare - I rate them far higher than trout, and so versatile.
No amount of butter is too much butter for me! Keep it up! You know what’s good!

When they are guarding the nest , fish are not concerned with eating , they want to run the preditors off, thus getting Fogel hooked.
