    I think this is the most informative video for this brand.I experienced the same issues on my pool that had a lot of algae on the floor. I am glad I had watched this video and did frequent cleaning of the basket.

      Thanks! Yeah when the bottom of the pool gets bad I set a 1 hr timer and then I clean the basket in the pool vac. That usually does the job.

    Thanks for making this video. I just opened my pool and although I know it was too dirty for the Aiper, I thought it might at least assist with clean up. I was getting so mad when it popped wheelies after only 1 pass so I thought it was broken. Now I know that's not the case. Thanks again, great information.

      You are welcome! I thought I got a bad one when I first bought this vac. I watched a bunch of videos before I bought this thing and I thought it was going to be Amazing. It is pretty amazing but it won't clean up the sticky silt and sludge from the bottom of the pool very well. I had to use an old fashioned vacuum with a hose for all that silt.

    Finally a video that shows a robot on curved walls and with benches and stairs. Thanks so much! Very informative. Most videos show pool cleaners just with straight walls. I was contemplating to buy this one but it seems it has the same issues as the Degrii Zima that I already have. These things just don't work in my very curvy pool with lots of benches (unless I babysit them the whole time or drive it manually).

      I am glad this video helped. Everyone makes these things look like they are amazing and they are in the right situation. My pool pump has been having a lot of problems. So this vac is a great way to clean the pool while I am working on my pool pump. I am going to have to get a new pool pump. When I do I will get my old pool vac connected to my pool pump again and make some comparison videos. That thing used to work really good when my pool pump was working properly.

    Great informative video with practical tips. Mine was doing wheelies and not getting all the leaves off the bottom but the basket had a lot of sludge in it. I'll give the regular basket cleaning a go and hopefully that will allow it to get everything off the bottom. Really cool the way it cleans the walls. Once the floor of my pool is clean, I'll set it to wall only and see how it performs.

      @@ThatHobby the filter basket doesn't seem to have an ultra fine filter or another ultra fine filter, like some other models, at a higher price point, do you think if I get one with the ultra fine filter, there's one Aiper just put out, Aiper scuba s1 pro, this issue will not rise and collect all the dust? or better fix some ultra fine filters to the basket? lol

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@nirod1281 I think the extra fine mesh would be a great way to vacuum up the fine silt at the bottom of the pool. But I think it would clog up the pool vac basket pretty quick. So you would have to empty it a lot more. The pool vac will scrub the bottom of the pool pretty good though. So I have been running the pool pump when I use the pool vac to filter the fine silt and dust out of the pool water.

    Hey, great video! I just got mine and tried it today, it keeps popping wheelies even if it's only been a couple minutes since it started with a clean basket. The water is a bit dirty and cloudy since we were struck by a hurricane a couple days ago so i'm guessing that's why. Do you have any other recommendations to avoid the wheelies? Thanks!

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 7 měsíci

      They have a few tips on the AIPER website. They said to try and loosen the wheels a little bit. They could be too tight and causing it to pop wheelies as well. If that doesn't help you can also turn on your pool filter and sweep the bottom of the pool with your pool brush. That will help get a lot of the sediment off of the bottom. Then it wont be so bad for the pool vac to clean up the rest.

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 20 dny

      These types of pool vacs have a fine mesh in the pool vacs basket. If you have a lot of fine silt in the bottom of your pool like I do it will clog up the pool vac pretty quick. Once the pool vacs basket is clogged up you will have to clean it or it won't work right. But if you keep cleaning the basket it will eventually clean your pool. The old fashioned pool vacs that you connect to your pool pump skimmer with a hose seem to work pretty good. If you return your pool robot you might want to try a Suction Pool Cleaner. I used to have a really nice Hayward Poolvergnuegen but it got worn out and I wanted to try something without a pool hose.

    Do these apier brands actually clean algae

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 5 měsíci

      These are just robot pool vacs. Most pool vacs can't clean algae. You will need to put some chemicals in the pool first. I like to use pool shock on algae. The pool vac is great for scrubbing the pool floor and walls before you put the shock in the pool. The pool vac also works great for scrubbing the pool after the shock kills the algae. Here is the link to my pool shock video if you haven't seen it. czcams.com/video/7MxQx7cWeIQ/video.html

    So the water is hot in my sinks, but the shower is like BARELY warm, do you think this is the reason why !?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yeah if you have hot water in your sinks and not in your shower then it is probably the shower faucet cartridge. The seals will eventually swell and cause the cartage to get stuck and prevent the hot water from coming on even when you turn the faucet to hot.

    Do you still have it? Does still work?

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah I ended up keeping it. It really does work great for maintaining your pool. I also loosed the wheels up a little but too. They say that will help to stop it from popping wheelies. But if my pool is real bad with a lot of sediment on the bottom I still have to clean the basket when it starts popping wheelies. This thing is not perfect but its does a pretty good job for a robot pool vac.

      I think the old fashioned pool vacs that you hook up to your pool pump will work the best for getting all of that crud out of your pool. But you will have to clean your pool filters a few times. So yeah having all of this stuff in the pool takes a lot of work to clean out. I got a new pool filter cleaner sent to me to test out. I made a video on tiktok about it. You put the filters on a stand and spray them off. It spins the filters around as it cleans them. So yeah it does a pretty good job. I will make some CZcams videos about it.

    • @ThatHobby
      @ThatHobby  Před 13 dny

      I have tried a few of these types of pool vacs. They all have the same issue. Once the basket in the pool vac gets clogged up they don't have enough suction to work properly. You will need to clean all of the sediment out of your pool before these types of pool vacs will work. You can try an old fashioned pool hose with a vacuum head on the end of the pole. That will probably be the best way to get all of the sludge out of the bottom of the pool. If it is really bad you may have to drain your pool. Once your pool is clean these types of pool vacs work great for keeping it that way. They will pick up leaves, sticks, and dirt. So yeah it's a great pool vac just not for what I was trying to use it for.
