The 6th series loss in a row is a befuddling one. Back to back losses 5-4 to the Toronto Blue Jays would give the Mariners a 3-6 record on their final homestand before the All-Star Break. Many opportunities were squandered by poor timely hitting and the Mariners would fall short. There are obvious holes on this team at the moment and it is time for some of them to be left behind. The Mariners start a 2 game series on Tuesday against the Padres as their next games.

I would have won SOOO much money betting on the Mariners not scoring even once with bases juiced back to back innings... This is literally the single worst offense I've ever seen.
    It's unwatchable.
They are literally bad at baseball things, simple baseball things you learn in little league, like moving runners over, not swinging at pitches out of the zone with three balls, etc...
    This team needs an overhaul.

I get tired of second guessers. Kirby went back out and SHOULD have gone back out. He had under 100 pitches and was pitching well. The longer he goes the less outs are needed by the depleted bullpen. If this was a lockdown bullpen like we all thought we would have if not for injuries I might change my opinion. But this bullpen is not that great. And Kirby really gave you the best chance to get at least a couple outs in that inning. Now....he didn't execute. It wasn't because he was overused. Another thing to consider is that this is the 3rd straight year Servais has overused his bullpen for the season. In 2022 the pen was on fumes down the stretch. Last year was more of the same. They absolutely need more innings from their horses in the rotation. Kirby NEEDS to go out and get an out or two in that inning.

    @BenGarrott Před 16 dny

I don't believe that we have "bad luck" when it comes to finding good second basemen. We had Robinson Cano for 5 years and he was great for us both offensively and defensively but he was a known commodity - a superstar before he came here and we had to get the checkbook out to pay him. Frazier, Wong, and Polanco have had a good year or two but no one has ever thought of them as superstars and none of them have been as durable and have as much power in their bat compared to Cano. I just think that they are trying to get bargains for players who could be good and are afraid to spend big money for a star and a true difference maker. If Frazier, Wong and Polanco were so great why would their teams let them go? I think all those teams knew that they were on the decline in their careers and were willing to part with them and no one was willing to sign/trade for them but us.

But with that said the M's continuing no-offense performance year in and year out says there something wrong in the front office that they can't seems to acquire the talent that can put the bat on the ball to move the M's from pretenders to a serious playoff contender. I am tired of M's chaos baseball, it ain't cute anymore. Colton saw something positive with batting in the Jays series? I must have been watching a different M's team with all those strikeouts and hardly ever getting anyone on the bases or bringing in a run when the bases do get loaded usually through walks or errors by the other team. I have more faith in Urias hitting the ball if he gets the at bats than
I do with Polanco and I think with
Urias and France being team mates from their Padres days I see the infield chemistry being much stronger than with Polanco.
Also get an actual DH and a better RF. Mitch Haninger can play as back up if there room on the roster.
Maybe send Trent Thornton down? I don't think he should be DFA because he has been solid for his role but it feels like Thornton has been struggling lately?

I can’t say the experiment is over. Jorge is having a bad go at it this year. But, his career prior says this is a fluke season. How many other big name batters this year are having cliff hanger seasons, ready to plummet? We forget, myself included, that Jorge played on a different team for his entire career until this year. Is him making a move to a whole new city, waking up in a new home every morning, meeting and making new friends an excuse to him playing like he is this year? Why, yes. Yes, it is. With that said, I do believe if you’re a higher tier player, you gotta figure it out before halfway through the season. But, again, that’s not to negate the stress of playing for a new team, new franchise, new fan base, new management, new roads to drive to his home field. It’s all new.

There are tons of different things that a change of scenery does to you. Whether it can be good or bad. This would honestly be a solid move for both teams except the Yankees don't want to take on money past this season. They need all the money they can get to make an offer to Soto. Now, they could decline Polanco's option in the offseason. This would be a good change of scenery move for both players.

He is literally the best, or second best, hitter on the team and a gold glove caliber CF. This is a bad take even though he is struggling.

If we keep playing the way we are playing right now, then not for long. That’s the problem.

Yeah everyone's crying because it's OBVIOUS first place will soon be second and then likely third place, because this offense is HORRIBLE!!! It is hot garbage.

@@emmet21gaming91every time I see a comment like this (not yours) it tells me who either hasn’t watched any games or they know next to nothing about baseball. It’s just a foolish thing to think that just because they are in 1st that they are playing well and have nothing to worry about.

Don’t cut bait on Jorge polonco dude can play and people have slumps let’s not boo him this is nuts we’re talking about allowing Robles and bliss as the savior this is a time to have faith in Jerry depito

That's the sad thing. Polanoc is good and he isn't washed up and if he gets DFA'd and sent to the Dodgers or Phillies or wherever he would rake. He's still solid. I don' tthink he ever wanted to come to Seattle and doesn't want to be here now. He just isn't happy.

He is 19 and NO WHERE NEAR READY for MLB pitching (not that the old guys on the team can hit MLB pitching). All that would do is continue the trend of rushing guys to the majors in a panic and ruining them.
