Thank you so much for this video. I'm about to get one but I don't want a pump and was wondering how I could keep it clean. I came here and searched stock tank without pump and you helped a lot. I'm going to buy all the things you suggested. I just have to find out how best to cover it to keep creatures from crawling in it at night. I was thinking maybe plywood and put decorative blocks on top to keep it covered at night. You did such a great job!
Just watched this DIY! Its awesome.. we just got our tank today and really excited to fill it up! We don't have the other supplies yet but your video gave me the idea what to buy.. thanks for sharing this!
I bought mine and we're enjoying it. No pump either, just a 3 inch chlorine tablet that lasts for over a week. I had bought a small pool cover but the drainage holes let too much debris get in it so now I bought a round patio furniture cover from Amazon and it covers perfectly and keeps the debris out.
I have 1 of this chlorine floater so the pump is not a must? I am ordering mine and my plug is very far i will have go trough most of the back yard to my level side, how do you keep mosquitos from breeding g in it? Thanks
@@sharoncourt75 the pump is not a must if you use chlorine tablets. I bought a round patio furniture cover from Amazon and it keeps mosquitoes and everything else out. It has a draw string that lets you adjust it to the size of the pool.

How has this held up with no pump and filter and with the use of chlorine? I'm nervous about the chlorine with the galvanized. Have you seen any break down? Have you been able to keep the pool clean and water not like a scummy pond?!
Kids and grandkids can get a kick out of this I think it's really neat hey you don't have to be a kid the adults can get a kick out of this too probably more than the kids lol man I want one of these so bad wondering if it's real expensive
Lashonte Mason Hey there! The tank is the most expensive item. I bought mine at tractor supply Co. for $400. You also have to factor in delivery if you don’t have a trailer or truck. Other than that, it’s pool supplies, which didn’t cost me much. I bought a tub of 1 inch chlorine for $20 and didn’t use all of it. One tablet last a week and a half. Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck !
When you say you have no electricity in your backyard, I click like right away...lol. That's my backyard and I can't set up all those electricity thing without using electrical cord through the inside of my garage.
Karla A yes! It has even surprised me, I thought I would have had to empty by now and put fresh water but it still looks great. I put it in July 4 weekend so it’s been a month and a half. The 3 inch chlorine tablets are lasting me a week and a half to two weeks.
Pool professional here, you really shouldn't use chlorine if you're not going to use a pump and filter. You've basically just got a big pool you gotta dump pretty regularly. There's no keeping stagnant water clean.
Toss in a tennis ball. Floating bugs will find it and hang on until you bounce it on the ground. Also, put a pinch of root killer (copper sulfate) available at Home Despot, into the water to PREVENT algae.
@@analeegarcia9388 Yes, safe, but I use just a pinch inside the toe of womens' nylon stockings, which sits inside the thing my chlorine tablet floats in.
@@analeegarcia9388 I fill mine with rainwater. Also, if you use it at night, look before you leap in. Cottonmouth have been known to take a dip in more than ine pool in my neck of the woods (North Texas).
