Their names were probably all written down somewhere, so that they would be remembered by someone so that their families could receive their posthumous medals.
He should get a medal named after him. The Order of the Shovel in Gold with Oak Leave Clusters, Swords and Diamonds.
He was the biggest and physically strongest of them too.
Probably the only show that honnor real hardworking good old days men by this episode
This was my favorite episode. It’s not everyday that we have American media showing Russians as being the good guys.

Almost all of the episodes on there have such an in-depth world built into such a short story that you could easily improve upon it and make an entire season.
Just watching a soldier making their final stand against an army, just to take as many with them as possible, knowing it's their end, gives me goosebumps.
Without hope, without backup, and sealed faith, they fight.
Their will, bravery and love for what they have behind them is inspiring and beautiful, this is worth fighting for

This episode is the best thing I've seen, perfectly made from all sides, and its soo Russian, the discipline, the toughness, the willing to die for the cuase , the commander himself how he is giving the orders in the middle of the fighting and how his men is doing their parts to the last breath.. a whole 16 minutes of perfection. The makers of this Pease of art didn't miss anything at all.

What is rly interesting about this episode is that they somehow menage to develop all characters in 15 minutes, almost everyone on this hill have a personality and you can sense story and what type of character they are, this is a truly a master work, not just in animation but also in storytelling+ they had neutral approach and told a Russian story without propaganda shit rly good my 2nd best episode in series.

A Russian soldier does not die, he changes his life for the future of his generation
I love how in the episode, it shows the monsters helping their wounded comrades. It shows them in a more "human" light despite them not being very... human.
Despite whatever western media shows and tells Russians were and are good bunch of people, there were good people as well as bad ones like Stalin. If not for guys/soldiers of Red Army there is a huge possibility Hitler would have won. These type of soldiers were the guys who sacrificed themselves and turned the Nazi tide completely. There are literary so many stories of sacrifices on Eastern front and few on western fronts. Russian politicians were brutal and evil, but the people/soldiers were tough, the never give up attitude, fighting mentality to the last man, love for their country and the attitude of always ready to sacrifice their lives for greater good is something I have never seen in any other country.

You know, i think that one of the big things that make every episode of love, death and robots so good and genuinely one of the best things I've watched is the fact that there is only one episode per story, like i would love to watch a whole series on every one of the episodes but there being just one just feels special for some reason i can't fully explain.

Great respect for these heroes in the shadows. Even though they knew they would face death, they still fought for duty, honor and people. It's really cool. Much better than soldiers fighting for pay, bonuses or promotions.
