Just hooked up cat 8 from nighthawk to Ps5 uplaod went from 380 to 419 and uplaod to 20. Not bad I think
Wow spent a day with my Ethernet in my ps5 thinking it was using it the whole time, just found it you have to do it manualllt.
Mine went from 13.9mbps to 22.5mbps, so glad I bought it

I have a cat6 for a few days and my ping on fort has barely improved (-3 or 4ms) its not as good as people been saying it was and my upload speeds are still 9-13mbps while my download speeds did go from >100mbps to 800+mbps

idk why but "wired Lan " doesnt even pop up on my network settings... idk why all of a sudden i cant get ethernet to my ps5 . its like only literally 4 feet away and the wifi works for every other device other than my ps5 , maybe its the ps5 itself ? any suggestions !?
So question my wifi box in upstairs on the top floor and I'm in the basement so the connection isn't all that good so if I were to get a cable (like a 100-200ft cable) would the distance still effect the connection and speed?

What exact Ethernet cable are you using? The Ethernet cables I've been buying from Amazon have been too small
Cat-6a ethernet cable. Works GREAT man!! I got mine at Lowes store.
Is it OK to play without the WiFi cable?
I have a 1,000 Mbps internet , on my phone and laptop a speed test goes about 600mbps or so... However on the PS5 through WiFi I'm getting around 400mbps, which is okay but when I put in the ethernet and it's a brand new cat 7 cable I'm only getting 91.5mbps and I tried a bunch of different things and I tested it like 100 different times and like I said brand new cat 7 cable ... Any idea why on Earth wired Lan would be much slower than WiFi ? I can't figure it out.
Tip: buy a cat6a cable with S/FTP protection. That way your cable offers the fastest and most secure network possible
Sftp is VERY overkill. Stp is good enough

@@johnnybattah5567 Cat 6 is good for most homes, yes. Although it depends on your internet plan. If you're on the giganetwork of your provider, (meaning you get 1 gigabyte per second download speed) i'd recommend a Cat 6a anyway. Cause that can sustain 1gbps instead of 500mbps.

They recommend anything cat 6 and higher I believe
They're only a few dollars more than the CAT5 depending on the length you need

I have wired internet connection set up on my PS5, but I keep getting the CE-112839-4 error code when I turn on my console I have notified BT about this and everything is fine at there end, I have smart hub 2 and hybrid connection my router is in my cupboard and it’s not far away from the PS5 in my bedroom, but I’m still getting the error code can you please give me some advice.

try and disconnect the router and the lan cable your connected for 5 minutes and reconnecting it and reconnect the lab cable as well

350 ping is pretty bad for online gaming I used to get about 200 ping and it sucked , you just have to upgrade your internet talk to the company because chances are it won't be much more expensive it might even be the same price that you're paying now I got a huge upgrade for only $5 more because they were overcharging me the whole time and they won't tell you about it unless you ask them or tell them that you're switching companies and they will hook you up for sure!!!!
I’m having a similar issue but it happens for me like every 5-10 minutes and always at exactly around this time in a loop. And it only started recently. Like wtf is going on? I even bought a another LAN cable to see if that would help and it didn’t and I upgraded to a cat 6 one. Like I just don’t get it man, literally no matter what I do I’m always getting the stupid disconnected error but then it instantly connects again right after and again it does this like every 5-10minutes. How the hell do I fix this? It’s like the PS5 software is having a hard time recognizing the cable constantly or something.
And to make matters worse I cannot play Elden Ring or Fallout 76 at all online even on wifi. But I think that may be a separate issue but it’s also bothersome because I can play online just fine with my wifi on every other game other then those two but for some reason on those two I keep constantly getting booted off like every 5 minutes or so. Like dude I don’t get it. I’m starting to hate the PS5 for real.
Same issue I’m having. I have three WiFi extenders around my house. My house is already wired with AT&T fiber optics - I plug in a laptop and it works perfectly fine, but the PS5 doesn’t recognize Ethernet, only WiFi. And the WiFi is super slow on it, not on other devices.
@@ph3713 Thankfully after awhile the problem basically just fixed itself. No clue what was going on but I don’t have the problem anymore. Perhaps some PS5 update somehow fixed the issue for me but yea it was bizarre lol. I also have a different PS5 now since I wrote that comment up above. I upgraded to the special edition Spiderman one.
So it went 14 kbps to 1.4 mbps so
