  • Do this on your PS5 to increase internet speed WiFi vs Wired Connectivity and to get better internet bandwidth from your ISP and lowest latency possible.
    PS5 is equipped with a Wi-Fi 6 wireless antenna that also supports Bluetooth 5.1. Wi-Fi 6 is capable of transfer speeds of 9.6Gbit/s. Wi-Fi 6 is the next-generation standard in WiFi technology, but the problem with WiFi 6 is that your devices are supposed to be very close to the router to get that kind of speed, devices capable of Wi-Fi 6 or AX can take advantage if they are placed very close to the router which is not the case for everyone.
    LAN or Wired connectivity is solid and provides stable performance as compared to Wi-Fi which gets congested because of other devices connected in the household.

      @StevenDanielZigila Před 2 lety +1

      I run my ps5 around the clock without a stand and temps are the same with or without. Mainly if you place it on a hard surface it is the same as using a stand. The stand is just to keep it away from cloth/carpet which can clog vents. A desk won’t do that. Also it’s supposed to keep it from tipping.

    Obviously your choice whether you use the standard or not. It does have a functionality though, Sony advices to use the standard due to the cooling system. There's heat coming from the bottom which you've blocked because you don't use the stand. Just saying, i understand it looks nicer but if you want to enjoy your PS5 a bit longer, i suggest you use the standard.

    Wired is better than wireless in most cases. A good Wi-Fi 6 mesh network can help and in fact be very fast, but Wi-Fi is never as consistent as ethernet. Hell, half the reason why mesh Wi-Fi networks work so well is that virtually eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones. In my case, I have a 50 foot CAT 6 cable ran from my router, underneath the basement and into my bedroom, where it then goes to a shielded CAT 6 ethernet switch. That allows me to connect as devices as needed to ethernet. As for my mesh Wi-Fi 6 system, I currently use the Netgear Nighthawk Advanced Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System(MK63S). This has three "satellites" as Netgear calls them, which are strategically placed in the rooms of the house where Wi-Fi is most used. This means that again, I get Wi-Fi coverage throughout the whole house, all the advantages of Wi-Fi 6, and virtually no dead zones.

      Hey @jayrod64 - I'm running the same setup but when I run speed tests through the PS5 I'm seeing the speeds top out at 125mbps which is OKAY but not optimal for FPS games. The reason I think it's so low is that the actual router is on the other side of the house. I do however, have one of those Satellites right next to the PS5. My question for you is, do you know if I can run a hardwire connection off of the Satellite router to the PS5? I see the port back there but wanted to ask for some advice and you seem like you got your stuff dialed in. TIA!

    If you have a wifi-6 router with beam forming technology. And if u enable Airtime Freshness and MU-MIMO you get optimal upload and download speeds with your 5Ghz. I run a 150Mbps line and i get 145Mbps upload and 150Mbps download on my PS5 constantly. And any given point of time 10-12 devices are connected to my router. • @GamerzRevolution
      @GamerzRevolution Před 9 měsíci

      The further from your router, the worse the signal will be, that’s why Boosters are best used as halfway points or to go around corners (less interference from walls). They “boost” the signal by extending it. In your room, it’s getting no better signal than your console. Place it halfway to your router & if possible, run a 5e (flat works best) from your console to the Booster.

    5ghz wifi 5 had very consistent 5ms latency in a test I've seen. Not far away from ethernet. Way better than 2.4ghz.
    One benefit of wifi 6 is supposed to be latency, if this is the case it's basically as good as a wired connection.
    Only question remaining is speed. Wifi 5 speed is typically theoretical ~850mbit max, my ps4 pro gets 400, my i devices 600 (with 1gbit connection).
    So running a wire is definitely worth it for me when downloading stuff.
    But with wifi 6 if the speed is improved and ps5 has generally better wifi then it possibly should reach around the 1gbit available. If it at least manages to have the theoretical 800mbit of wifi 5 that would be plenty fast.
    Having everything wireless is sure more clean and convenient

    • @TurboSpeedWiFi
      @TurboSpeedWiFi Před 2 lety

      Remember online gaming only uses 10 Mbps max. Games are not that bandwidth intensive. The real advantage of using ethernet is the stability of the connection and the reduced latency.
