  • It's time to pit Japanese engineering against European panache! The Yamaha R15 V4 versus the KTM RC200 - entry-level sportsbikes that have come a long way since their inception. Both superb on the track, but it's time Varun Painter and Shumi find out how these motorcycles fare in the city.

      The particular aspect of going fast, in a polish way is Performance. But the actual meaning of Performance means to deliver all the functions or tasks it is assigned. In that context we can only rely on Passion Pro during such fuel hikes. So, passion pro is also a very high performing vehicle in its segment. LOL

    Yeah it is much needed comparison. But for someone who looks for a sports bike in that price segment, Gixxer SF 250 is a nice option. Yeah, it' doesn't have USD forks or fancy meter console. But just based on how both the bikes are trying to be more user friendly and something having good performance with that price, SF 250 is a nice option to consider. Everyone is not going to track right. Common people may use these machines for daily use too as you mentioned in the video.
    When it comes to performance, I felt Gixxer Sf has better performance than both of these too( just my personal experience).

      Majority folks are superficial. Lucrative features always attracts them. What's really best for them always left unaware. If sf250 comes into discussion, comparison become irrelevant and sf will leave both of them in dust.

      Being a KTM RC owner for past 1 year I clearly agree with you.
      I bought RC for its damm looks and performance. Being in a metropolitan city like hyderabad I agree that these upright position bikes are very difficult to handle in city. In my friend circle we have various bikes such as Gixxer sf250 ,R15 v3, Mt15, Ns200 , R15M ,Duke 200 ,390 ,RC ,RS etc....
      I feel that its better to go with street , naked bikes rather than a full fairing Bike ( In city Rides)
      But Gixxer sf 250 is something else. Excellent riding comfort .It has excellent power, the cost of ownership and maintenance is low , good milage compared to RC 200,
      The cost of the bike is low.
      LOOKS ARE SUBJECTIVE....
      In the second hand market u can find these bike as low as 1 lakh in great condition.
      Its just my opinion bro

    Its hard to choose between the RC200 and the R15 V4. They are both great bikes in thier respective form. The r15 is a good lightweight, easy to Ride bike for a beginner who is looking something fun to Ride. The engine is refined and gives better efficiency compared to RC200 also got good features like slipper clutch, Bluetooth connectivity,ect. But the RC200 is also better bike. It gets the job done by giving more.
    it gets more power, its faster, its comfortable thanks to its soft suspension and it looks modern to . Sure it Misses some features like slipper clutch ect. But still the new RC200 feels like bigger bike.
    Its realy confusing to choose 😅. Although my choice is the R15.
    But If u love sports bikes like theses then either of them will not be disappointing choice.

  • @arunalexander6389
    @arunalexander6389 Před 2 lety +20

    You guys forgot the most important factor of picking one over the other in this day and age, the fuel efficiency.The R15 can give FE figures close to 60kmpl when one has a lighter wallet at the end of a month; also, still returning 35kmpl even if you rip the shit out of it. Even though these are sports bikes its not top shelf stuff like R1 or RC8 wherein the prospective buyer only thinks about the fun quotient when choosing his/her ride. The RC can at max return 38 kmpl when driven sedately and KTMs generally have twice the maintenance cost/parts failure rate when compared to a motorcycle from the Yamaha stable.
    Meanwhile the underrated machine in this segment is the SF250 which is always under the radar because the media houses never brings it up in their comparos or reviews.

    • @Unkahin_Bakchodiyaan
      @Unkahin_Bakchodiyaan Před 2 lety +6

      Remember, if you are getting 60kmpl on R15, trust me you are not doing justice with the engine. Engine with 155 cubic capacities is meant to be revved. I own it one and I'm getting it around 35 kmpl. No complaints! However, I agree with you that Gixxer SF250 is underrated. Top notch acceleration in 250 cubic capacities domain in Indian market.

My bike has ran more on highways than in the city. I hardly commute with it. For obvious reasons stated in the video. The only downside that I feel with this bike is nothing in the name of low end. And while the pillion is surprisingly comfortable but the rider isn't. It's a phenomenal machine and the way it looks oh lala, they way it rides and handles. Think about it as having something that’s very race track commited and the other one is basically improved in all terms. Power wise KTM will always make it to the end but comfort, better features which a college student and an amateur rider can buy that’s Yamaha. So my vote is always for R15
    Also in the current scenario the R15 can extract more of mileage which the KTM can never do.

    Proud to be a owner of yamaha R15 version 3 bs4 since 33 months completed 34000 kms 90 percent of my ride is long ride only touring getting a great mileage of 50+ 😎. Draw back is life of chain sprocket is 15-17000 KMS 😭 rest no problem. Refinement levels of yamaha is in par with KTM Bajaj and tvs 👍

    • @aswin5792
      @aswin5792 Před 2 lety

      @@twowheeledparadox yeah..
      Actually I was thinking of getting a D390 retuning it for a better torque response..
      I like to have a powerful top end bikes, but not with 0 low end punch.
      Having a power band spread throughout the rev range(like Gixxer 250s) would also be boring imo, as it would require very less proper inputs from our side..
      Usable torque + top end power would be the best combo atleast for me, as it's normally rideable and also can go faster only when we want it to under our proper input..

      There are many different types of bikes in this segment.
      You can look for various bikes depending on your budget.
      Ex showroom price list
      NS 200 - 1.36L
      TVS Apache RTR 200 4V - 1.29L
      Honda Hornet 2.0 - 1.33L
      Mt 15 -1.5L
      Pulsar N250-1.4 L
      Duke 200 - 1.87 L
      Duke 250- 2.29L
      Dominar 250 -1.67 L
      Dominar 400 - 2.36
      If you want milage go for MT 15 or Hornet 2.0
      If you want extreme performance go for Dominar 400 (same engine as ktm rc or duke 390). Its worthy at 2.36 L ex showroom
      Performance go for Dominar 250 or Duke 250.
      If you are comfortable with medium level of performance than you can go with either DUKE 200 or NS 200 .
      If you want comfort check up the N 250.
      It depends on your priorities and budget bro.
      Bro please go for a test ride of each bike that I mentioned and various bikes in this segments.
      Examine your budget and priorities
