I was using the newest Official BIOS available.

Played well over 20 hours Red Dead 2 now. DirectX 12, no problems, good FPS, full screen and not a single crash. Looks brilliant as well. Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn played equally well.
Battery life?
No idea. I'm retired and tend to use it more in bed propped at night so I've got power ditto when I was away last weekend in a hotel. @@anthon300
@@anthon300he prolly plays plugged in for more tdp during gaming
Settings for red dead 2?
How did you get it to run full screen?
Thanks for all the tests! That was super interesting to watch! Just wanted to tell that you can fix the issue with RDR2 by setting the render mode from Vulkan to DirectX 12 in the game's graphics settings. It also runs pretty good, even at higher settings on the Legion Go.
I know it runs good. I just had issues using the different resolutions 🙄
(and I just can't afford to spend like 2-3 hours on a single game fixing it when I'm testing 25 games and editing the video etc. 😅)
@@Hubwood Lenovo Space just got a major upgrade and is out now. You can now Switch between 60hz and 144hz without PSU (It was a bug) and many other things. Another big upgrade soon.
Asus rog ally steam deck or lenovo ?
@@Xt660xmikeAll 3 are different, so it depends on needs.
I've just got mines today and I love it
Some games has low fps on 1200p low resolution, but overall i think it is best price/perfomance gaming handheld
Hi Mr Hubwood sir, I love your videos and was waiting for this one to actually make my decision for Christmas, its eith ROG Ally or Legion Go because we don't have steam deck in my country.
That was nice. I am looking for a Monster Hunter World or Rise Benchmark. I could not find any. Maybe you could do a test on this on your next video?
Great job 👏
Just what I was looking for! Now I’m sold , Thank you for the video!

Loving my legion go. Cant wait for the new BIOS update and such. Heard it is really improving performance.
When should it arrive?
@@Bruce-Ketta not sure. Been checking for updates every day.
@@WarriorAlpaca Where do you check for updates?
I love this video!
For me Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go > Steam Deck Oled ❤❤❤ (poor Aya Neo & Gpd Win can't challenge these 3)
My Legion go is Absolutely Amazing go buy one!
I don't understand how he couldn't get 60fps with Witcher 3. I play at 800p, medium settings with high textures and get a stable 60fps. I use Radeon Chill and set the minimum to 59fps and maximum 65fps. This helps stabilize the frames and it helps mitigate the frame stutters.
I'll have to re check that. Are you using direct x 11 or the next geb version?
@@Hubwood I'm using the next gen version. I've tried this method with a few games and it works wonders so far. Did the same for Spider-Man, and both Plague Tale games and I hit 60fps on all 3. Sometimes 64fps.
@@Jayw-cl8pq okay thx for sharing. I'll look into it!
@@Hubwood No problem. You're welcome!
I was surprised too, on 30W I’ve been averaging anywhere between high 50’s to low 70fps on 800p, low settings w/ dir X 12 playing Witcher 3 next gen. This was after the latest AMD drivers and V28 bios updates, I didn’t run it on the Legion Go before that.
I normally play on custom 20W and average low 50 to mid 60fps. I may have missed it but what was the TDP settings for this testing?
Hey Man, thank you for your videos! Can you pls test & share your experience on LeGo with RSR & Loseless Scaling - this might benefit from using 800p resolution and(perhaps) balanced mode.
Also not it is possible to use 6Gb or VRAM set in BIOS...
It's a pity you didn't use the new Beta Bios 28 and the newest Beta-Drivers as I had a really big performance jump of about 15 to 20 and more stable fps with 6 GB Vram in Cyberpunk! 🤯 But I understand of course that all of those Benchmarks just take their time to be done.
Yeah the beta update wasn't available when I started. And I can't start all over again every time a new bios is released 😂
@@HubwoodThe next official release version of the new BIOS is around 1+ week away which may or may not improve performance more.
@Hubwood I totally understand! Too many Updates! 😅 Which is a really good thing 😉👍
Did it also fix speakers?
@@lincoln537 no it didn't, but they are aware of it and working of it, if you mean the sound issue on the left speaker some persons are having (I don't).
If you talk about improving the sound, have a try turning the omni sound option on in the Realtek driver and turn it to the strong (or loud) option. It helped a lot to make it better and louder for me.
dirt 5 , It is fully playable with 1600 p and medium graphics in procedural, at 65fps
I love the Go, sold my Steam Deck because of its limitations with being none Windows.
dumb 😂😂😂
Hi, will legion go support gta VI? I’m thinking of buying it, but I don’t want to change it in 2 years.
What are your thoughts?
Impossible to know.
I'm assuming it might run on lower settings and resolutions due to FSR (3) or even FG for that matter...
But it's hard to tell. Pc release will be in 2-3 years... And considering RDR2 was quite demanding...
First I want to apologise because my english is not good..
Will you recommend the go over the oled deck? I’ve only ever had a gameboy color and the nintendo switch, so I know NOTHING about pc gaming. But I want to play baldur’s gate 3, and the go’s screen size is what I prefer. But is the performance really not good?
The performance is better than on the deck. But if you're unfamiliar with pc gaming a steam deck would be better for you. Because the go and the ally are basically windows PCs.
@@Hubwood ah, I see. But I also don't know anything about linux. Will this be okay?
@@omgkittyXDYes. You don't need any Linux knowledge to casually use a Steam Deck.
@@Hubwood Noted. Thank you very much for your help 😊
@@omgkittyXDYou're welcome!
I wonder how people find time to complete games when they’re so obsessed with the fps
It actually can become an issue 😂
As a PC gamer for the past 20 years, you just described most PC gamers lol.
Great video as usual. What's your guess on when the next gen of the 780M (880M?) graphics will be released?
Most likely summer/autumn 2024
Thks man
What temperature about legion go running games ?
Call of duty mw3 does work for me well, at 900p getting a solid 120-130fps. However, yes it does crash quite alot and theres a "packet burst" issue that causes lag from time to time (running on 500mb internet)
Keep in mind the video was posted 55 days ago ;)
Question, can you install discord and share screen to play a movie with a friend?
If that works on a regular pc/laptop it will work here aswell
Love my steam deck oled, but im torn between the Legion or the Rog Ally since my heavier main games are Destiny 2, Diablo 4, Warzone and might wanna jump back in Azeroth (world of warcraft) ! Its a dream to play WoW on a handheld. Im 1 click away to order the legion go or the ally (both windows are open😛)
Can you give me the last push?
I was exactly in your situation yesterday. Ended ordering the Go! Worst comes to worst, we have 30 days open purchase so you can always go for the Ally as a backup plan 😊
@@OeRagnar i did the same 30 minutes ago. I think the Go is amazing, also their support is great.
Forza motoraport en legion go no se disfruta, si va a los 60fps con ciertas configuraciones, pero el joystick no es cómodo, además de q la pantalla no se presta para hacer tiempos esperados.
please try diablo 4 , sekiro , and mortal kombat 1 , thank you.
I tried dead space, guilty gear, fallout 4... and they can't be played even with low graphics, the frame rate is 30 or below. 💜💜
Fallout 4 should work like a charm. I haven't tested the other 2.
Something seems wrong in that case...
I want call of duty, fifa, football manager, c&c remastered, anon1800 and cities skylines 2
Can You Test New World please? thank you 🙏
Hi. Can we play a Farming Simulator Gmaes on this Lenovo Legion Go ?
Yeah absolutely
the video is a few months old but informative....does anyone think version 2 of legion go will be launched in 2024? Thank you
Nah Most likely not in 2024. 25 maybe. The Rog ally could get version 2 in 24 though
@@Hubwood thank you
New bios? Where can I find it? Is the beta?
I'm referring to the newest available official version.
@@Hubwood where can I find it?
dont try beta , That's why it's called beta, maybe you'll ruin your legion, you have to read the fine print.
@@cinema4dtutorials822 thank man!
Is vrr on rog ally that noticable vs legion go display?
Well that really depends on if you're sensitive to that and the use case. For some it can be more visible than to others.
Also depends if you're comparing it side by side.
@@Hubwooddo you have any gripes with go not having vrr when you tested these games? Did anything feel off? I can't decide between the go and ally but I really like the bigger screen. I need to know exactly how useful vrr is.
@@naavidmorshed5516 I love VRR. Alot. But in this case I personally would still prefer the bigger screen and try to surpass the VRR issue by using fps caps. (36 or 72 fps in this case as it has 144hz)
@@Hubwood thanks for replying, I think I'll get the go by next month. Can't wait.
Bro can we use install Cracked games on that?
Yes you could do that. It is using a regular windows version. It's like using a normal desktop pc. You can do basically everything that you can on any other pc...
Nabbed one of these to set up for a friend, and It's crazy how much more "horsepower" the device technically has that just doesn't amount to the performance uplift imagined with the windows bloat, and lack of driver optimization that Valve seemingly can do. In all honesty, 8 cores is overkill, and just means less cache and less bandwidth that would do better to feed 4-6 cores. But it's not custom silicon, so it's understandable to have to use the 8 core for the 12CU count.
800P is ideal for 60fps in most titles, but man it really isn't great looking on the 8 inch screen. the 144hz is practically useless except for extremely light games. You're bascially tweaking for every title you load.
What astonished me, is that Windows 11 by default nabs up almost half the bloody RAM with standard 3GB UMA buffer. Just playing Tekken 8 on medium with TSR 75 and it holds 60 for a decent time, then randomly just chuggs. RAM usage was at 97% with a 4GB UMA Buffer. Like, that's nuts. Really hope Chimera OS support gets squared up or even Steam OS gets released.
I can only fathom keeping windows for Game pass, or I guess if you wanna play COD? But yeah, paying 1k to basically emulate alright is bit of a swallow.
Only issue I have with the Legion Go is the loud fan noise, the touch screen not being great, and the stabdard windows issues.
Does it tryp fpv simulatior
Play 😂😂
where to get free tripple A games that can be played without pass or can be played offline
Well the epic store is giving away free games every week. Sometimes they are real AAA Games.
It looks like the performance for most AAA games still wouldn't reach a stable 60 fps with the Go. That combined with having to run the games at a non-native resolution is a bummer. On the other hand, the Go is compatible with eGPUs via thunderbolt 4. But so is my laptop! Might as well just stick with the SD OLED!
Dont underestimate how good 800p looks on the go. It really does. Or 1200/1600p plus FSR.
FSR really shines on these small screens. It looks even amazing sometimes.
@@Hubwood800 P INTEGER SCALING MORE BETTER DLSS AND FSR IT'S AMAZING IN SCREEN LEGION GO
Can I run steam?
Yes of course!
Almost all of these games run better on 6GB VRAM setting
Fsr 1.0 works a lot better in bg3.
all your games are free with repacks i never pay for play them and with legion go are cool
Steam de k oled sucks the new era is legion go 😊
"All games were tested at the custom 30WATT mode AND plugged in" amazing way to destroy the whole purpose of using this device 🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️ its for gaming ON THE GO!!
I wanted to show the maximum performance it is able to get.
I get that but c'mon lol. Its still a useful video though. Im currently making a video (on my actual channel) to test games unplugged in a more battery friendly way. @Hubwood
Sadly, with new bios all this work is complete useless. :' (
Well. That's benchmarking games for you 😂
@@Hubwood Usually there is no an update that improves consoles by adding 15/20 fps xDD
None of your test make any sense. Or rather, your LG just isnt set up right at all...i get way better results on every game you and i play....
Really depends on the settings. Double check that.
I had people saying they get way better results on witcher 3. Not mentioning they were using 800p PLUS fsr2. I didnt use fsr for my witcher 3 test at 800p. Makes a HUGE difference.
No Dota 🤨🧐😒😠
Don't play Dota and can't add unlimited games due to time! 😭
not really impressive tbh
These handheld pcs are meant for indie games not for AAA titles. But it is definitely impressive that in can handle some AAA titles in lower res in this type of form factor.
Everything was solved with new bios. We usually have just to wait....
You take a small computer that runs AAA games at an acceptable FPS with medium settings and fast startup that humiliate even powerful PCs and consoles. You play with the best FPS in AA and indie and games of previous generations. Now to play after work I turned on the button and let's go. Take it on the road without any problems, unlike a bulky PC. Not enough charge? Take a power bank. And it’s still better than a bulky PC and console. Games from all launchers in your pocket right in front of your face. 800p looks great on a small screen with fsr. If that's not impressive, then what can be impressive?
10 bit display, 500 nits. Okey it's not impressive need portative 4k 1000000000000 fps ultra.
