    Why Zhou is so confident? I mean from the facial expression, chop block, forehand chop, even switch to the left hand. This guy's quality reminds me of Zhang Jike!!! He doesn't give people any
    childish impact like Wang Chuxin or Lin Gaoyuan, a real man with dark skin. Keep fighting, DRAGON SLAYER!!!

      I feel the same, he seems to know he can beat anyone, where is his confidence from? I don't think just because he has nothing to lose, because someone has nothing to lose will be nervous when he is in the final stage. Zhou is just confident, maybe a new star is coming.

      Exactly what I immediately thought of at the start of the 5th set. Just as the world thinks Ma Long is the only perfectly well-balanced player from China. Zhou is the next generation of the "perfect" player.

      @benthekeeshond545 Před 3 lety +6

      @@KYChen617
      I think Fan is still the better player among Ma Long and Zhou Qihao. Zhou is obviously very good and he has greater potential than Wang Chuqin but it is a bit premature to place him above Fan as of now. I think Zhou surprised Fan with many power winners. Both Fan and Ma Long weren't used to being over-powered. The next time Zhou faces Fan would be a good indication how good Zhou can be. At the same time, Zhou wins over an aging Dragon, Ma Long, again shouldn't carry too much weight but if he loses to Ma Long, then Zhou's mental toughness will come into question.
      Overall, Chinese TT is such envy to the world. A Dragon, Ma Long is so bad that he dominated the world for over 10 years. Then a younger Fan Zhendong, so skillful and powerful therefore almost no other than a few Chinese National players can occasionally and potentially defeat him. As if this is not tough enough for non-Chinese players to overcome, we are witnessing a little-known Zhou Qihao overpowering both Ma Long and Fan Zhendong. This got to be a nightmare to many national TT coaches around the world.

      To be honest, I have never seen Zhou Qihao played against international TT players. Maybe he did but I sure missed some great events. However, what we witnessed from Zhou's last 2 matches, I just can't see any non-Chinese TT players can compete against him. Forget about winning, I think most of them will be blown away. Zhou has the power and footwork of Fan Zhendong and the consistency of the Great Ma Long. Zhou won this match against Fan because he played more consistently than Fan did.

      That is not always true. Harry Zhang has his legitimate concerns. Actually, personal preference and even corruption occurred within the Chinese TT system more than we knew. I just looked up Zhou's background and he is not playing at the international level because the national coaches don't really like him. Be assured Zhou's case is not an exceptional event. Throughout the long successful history of Chinese TT, they shelved many potentially great players due to personal reasons. I have friends who were associated with the former Great World Champions, Guo Yue Hua and Jiang Jia Liang. Between the mid-1980s to 2000, the Chinese national coaches selected players for obvious personal reasons. Jiang, being a loyal son to the Chinese TT system, didn't publicly utter his disapproval but he couldn't hide his facial frustration over a few players dismissed from joining the Chinese National Team. I heard the same thing from friends of Guo Yue Hua. By the way, both Guo and Jiang retired and were not involved with the Chinese national TT team.

    Zhou Qihao got excellent forehand and good backhand. His has flair too in that he chop block, chop, lob at crucial points. Good to have successor to ML and XX. Cause others such as LJK, WCQ, LGY are definitely not on the same league.

    Am i the only one who thinks that zhou qihao has different style of play compare to other chinese players? He seems to be having both hard style of chinese and soft style of the european really..its like he has his own pace on when to play slow and playing hard..im talking in terms of rally and placement..kind of a bit different really..since that marvelous 12 tournament i saw him like the only one who has different style of playing like that..but i might be wrong though..haha

    I don't know if even the Olympic final will be as entertaining as this match! Sets 5 & 6 had me going crazy, great match to analyse and learn from two amazing players. Chop block count also exceeded 3, which honestly goes even beyond what Koki Niwa does nowadays. Not to mention the amazing footwork, far and close to the table with a lot of power. Does anyone see him as a mixture of XuXin (far from the table) and power and placement from FZD?

  • @patela21
    @patela21 Před 3 lety

    Zhou qihao never gets tensed when he plays away from the table. In fact, he seems to be at his best going for “joo se hyuk” style crazy chop messing up opponent’s rally rhythm and then goes for the kill. These points were his critical advantage on demoralizing the best of the best, including Malong and Fzd.

    It might be rare players to hollow out the weekness of Fan Z.D and one of them is Zhou Qihao. His calm, confident, perfect body, smart strategy, spirit as warrior and so on help him become ecstasy. He knows that the right corner and the middles pushing Fan playing more forehand are the key to overcome.Transfering from forehand to backhand is really weaker than the opposite for Fan. High risk , high return and some luck created the victory of Zhou. Congrats !

    everyone's talking about zqh getting a spot in WTTC . No doubt he has been in gr8 shape and playing some fearless table tennis .But he needs to perform well against non-chinese players on a regular basis . That factor and experience make ma long , fan zhendong and xu xin kind of players to be prefered choice for big tourneys and beleive me that's thr right way to go about it. But surely i would like to see ZQH rise and shine as he is a supreme fit young talent without no such obvious weakness

  • @marlonm.agamezatimocarbo-c1830

    Not surprised at all. Zhou have been beaten top chinese player lately. In this tournament beats LJK, ML, and now FZD. In the other hand, check that those are Right Handed Players, but always have problems with XX and WCQ (Left Handed)....so, is almost sure that Liu Guoliang is going to singles with ML and FZD.

    I don’t argue who is better. Just a fresh style of men’s table tennis. You rarely see long rally now. They just try to kill the ball as soon as it bounces off the table no matter if it is a heavy top spin or fast top spin ball.Because of that, the game seems shorter.

    看了下比赛,周虽然赢了,但是技术上还是不够厚实,有些杀手锏但是不够全面。但这不是他的问题,而是国乒还没把他当成主力来培养,没有细抠他的技术短板。他胜在心理素质好,感觉就不怕输,关键时候敢出手,大力出奇迹。假以时日,好好解决技术上的问题,下届奥运还是有希望的。刘胖这么多年有一点很不好,没有下大力气培养男队的年轻选手。新一代的除了小胖没有一个让人放心的。

    • @chowwentlam1610
      @chowwentlam1610 Před 3 lety +1

      周已经24了,不是中国没培养他,是他自己没拼出来,他的不稳定也导致他上不了主力。要让教练对你刮目向看,你也得打出成绩,不然就会变成陪练,毕竟中国能人多。不像其他国家就只有一位而已。日本就是有张本,台湾区也只有小林,赢输对他们没影响,输了任何一场比赛也可以参加奥运,所以他们的成绩很难与中国队的主力僻美。他们只能靠参加多场比赛来争取分数。

    • @chowwentlam1610

      王楚欣已经很稳定了。马龙许昕退以后就会上来了。林诗栋说不定也会成为主力。如果与国外比,国外真的没有一位拿得出手的。中国则选择很多。
