    Great summary of the machinery! You have a great selection, especially tillage equipment! You will surely find the right tool for every need. The biggest, of course, is the professionalism with which you run the farm!
    If you ever want to tell in some video, I would at least be interested in what kind of company/mansion is behind your farm? How decision-making works, about what.. cultivation, varieties, machine purchases, plant protection, etc..
    Here in Finland, 99% of the farms are small (like mine), and 99% owned by one family alone and run 99% by them themselves, some larger animal farms can have hired workers. That's why it would be interesting to hear how things are elsewhere!
    Thanks again for the videos, these have been the best thing on CZcams for me for a long time!
    I get a lot of inspiration and ideas for my own farm.

      Thank you for your kind comments. Our farm/estate is owned by a family, but is not directly farmed by them, it is run via an agent. A lot of smaller arable family farms in this country are disappearing and the land bought by larger farms and farming companies. Economies of scale seem to be the way forward.

    Thanks interesting and shows the capital tied up in the machinery needed to function in variable seasons.

      @JDautopower  Před 18 dny

      Yes plenty of capital invested in machinery, we just need the crops to produce and a decent price for them.

    A very interesting video of the machines you run and the buildings you have too. All very interesting and well equipped for the operation you are running.
    There is a fortunes worth of kit in the workshop alone, it was interesting to hear the horse powers of the various tractors.
    Tractors are getting more powerful every year now. I didn't realise that the Fendt 939 was a 400hp machine or that the Fendt 724's were 240hp.
    I remember a local estate had a 240hp Ford 8970 as their largest main tractor some 30 years ago and it was the largest tractor in the area.
    That size of tractor is the normal horse power you find now, and a 400hp tractor would have been unheard of back then.
    How tractors and machinery have got bigger in size and price over the past few years.

    That's a big stack of straw . Had a holiday at Wales on a farm near Brecon , farmer said straw was very scares and expensive. An other English farmer at the Highland show said straw was like gold dust . Is that your gold reserves for a rainy day .

    • @JDautopower
      @JDautopower  Před 18 dny +1

      @@Twidile1 the straw did not belong to us, it was bought off us in the swaff and baled. It has all gone now. I think straw will be short this season, with poor crops and some not even drilled.

      @@user-ld6ik5qm4m yes I’m afraid its a sign of the times things just getting bigger and of course more expensive. Whereas our smallest tractor is 155 HP that was considered a large one back in the mid- late 80’s, now it’s just a runaround tractor 🤦🏻‍♂️

    What a brilliant fleet of kit you run love the fendts when you mentioned the combine is a narrow body model. Is that to do with the width of tracks or the size rotors. Love the channel keep up the good work 👍🏻

    • @JDautopower
      @JDautopower  Před 19 dny +1

      Thank you 😊. The narrow body refers to the width of the drum, which in turn means the track width is narrower. But the rotors are the same in both versions. Throughput is slightly lower with the narrower body, but it is easier to flit down the road.

      I showed people around in episode No.10 had no trouble, we have a good security system installed. 🤞🏻crossed. The electric gates are a really good deterrent, as it stops people just driving in the yard.
