Poor guy, he was in the grips of his heroin addiction and the band was in chaos and he and Jon were over- but being the professionals they are, the show must go on
I am now 21 & I just love Boy George..but I feel bad when people talks about his past ..specially those hard times of his..we love him...all I want from him is to be happy & stay healthy & stay safe ❤May God give him a long beautiful life🤗❤

Such a great song but by this time George was gone and had no awareness that the real Boy George had disappeared and this was not the George the world knew or wanted. Still listen to so many of his great songs today and as for Helen Terry, just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
love and adore the uptempo banger that is "love lies bleeding" written by the club.
You can really hear how good they are in this. Their last studio album before things fell completely apart.
The album was definitely an improvement over the last one. The drawback for many, not necessarily me personally, was that too many of the songs sounded too synthesized and overproduced.
Move Away and God Thank You Woman are actually the two of my most favourite CC songs .... ranking at the top alongside Do You Really, Mistake No. 3 and Love Is Love, Miss Me Blind and Victims ....
(BG's solo efforts are just as great too ... The Crying Game, Everything I Own and all those Jesus Loves You songs ...)

Yeah Georgie lookin skinny and cute. U could kinda tell the drugs were starting to show in how emaciated he was getting but the makeup def helped cover it up. This song always reminds of the spring of 86. Love CC

god that was a bad time in his life.... hell knows .. george was ill and didnt know at the time.... a lot of years later he still here and doing what he does best... learning as you go on it life and still making great music

Yes Theresa, that's her, and the other singer is Ruby Turner.
I agree with you, Helen Terry's voice made some songs brilliant, that's pretty clear on their second album, tunes like "That's the way" or "The church of the poison mind" wouldn't be the same without her magic contribution.
I seem to remember she left the music business when Culture Club disbanded, and started working for TV (production or something).
She now produces some of. The Pretenders recordings. She's close friends with Chrissie Hyndes

I agree. He looks so stoned and out of it. Dead behind the eyes, we call it. And let's face it, 'From Luxury to Heartache' is not an especially good album. Besides the lead single, there's really nothing there.

"God Thank You Woman" was released on May 19, 1986 in the UK. So, I'd say Culture Club's appearance on Terry Wogan's talk show was around this time...

The reality is that Boy George often overshadowed the rest of the band. It was part of a lot of why they didn’t last in the 1980’s. According to George’s autobiography, there was often jealousy from the other band members.

I think the other part of the problem was like a lot of the album that it sounded too synthesized and too overproduced and too similar to a lot of what was popular on American radio at the time. I also think nobody really bought into the idea of George writing lyrics about a woman and George has said in his autobiography that he was mainly pushed by Roy Hay into writing a song like that.
