  • Does pineapple reduce eye floaters? There was a study done that looked promising, so I thought I would give it a go! I have been eating 300g of pineapple everyday for 3 months now, and here are my results so far.

    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this condition. I'm suffering from this condition since 2007 and I'm 33 right now. I had medications done earlier but it didn't help. Later I accepted it and started living my life normally as it never caused other issues. It was very difficult to educate the doctors about this condition earlier. I have done night shifts for 11 years along with this condition. I would recommend others to take care of their eyes similar to other body parts.

I began seeing very small (though numerous) circular floaters quite suddenly. Doctor said my eyes look completely fine with no risk of retinal detachment and they're just a normal process of aging. I began taking bromelain as well as hyaluronic acid and they seem to be slightly less noticeable and more translucent. Some days are better than others. I'd say what helped me most is reducing screen brightness levels and wearing sunglasses a lot more. I see how many draw their floaters and notice how large they are and feel thankful mine are so small but sometimes looks like I'm seeing through a spotty window after hard water drys on it.

I can relate to that - the spotty window. And as you say, some time is worse, some time is better. Glad you found some things that help! I must say, I am suspicious of screens for all sorts of things, so the brightness trick you suggest sounds like a pretty good idea.

I can attest Pineapple does reduce floaters. I eat a slice of pineapple about 1/2” thick every day. If I run out and discontinue eating pineapple, my floaters worsen in about 3 4 days. I immediately start again and floaters definitely subside. Sure would be easier if could take a pill.

    UPDATE DEC 2023
FIRST OFF I HAD MY EYES THOROUGHLY CHECKED BY A RETINOLOGIST AFTER GOING TO 2 CRAZY OPTOMETRIST THAT DIDN'T KNOW CRAP.
So I went to this doctor and she had said I had perfect retina optic nerve in the beginning of a cataract but no glaucoma or macro. That was good to know so I didn't have to worry any further now I just had to focus on the cure. I use turmeric with black pepper and ginger in a gummy form it was something I tried in addition to the other things and then when I stopped taking them and still took the gummies and I took about nine a day I found out that I was healing with just that alone and so I have been taking them for a year and I can now see perfect! I hope this helps other people I think the doctors are scamming people but I did find that one on a doctor who I was glad to see cared about me enough not to do a surgery on me for no reason
Pineapple has enzymes and sugar. I ate pineapple but as well I added eye vites and additional enzymes. The floaters are decreased but not sure which thing did it.

I think it's so cool that you mapped your floaters. Obviously, it's not perfect, but maybe practicing doing such a thing can give perspective to a change. I was told I had a cataract after I asked since at night when I'd read, it was a bit blurry in one eye. I started eating two chunks of frozen pineapple every day. After about two months, I believe that blurriness at night has gone away. That being said, I was afraid to continue with the daily pineapple because I learned that it destroys collagen (that's the theory of how it gets rid of the cataract/floaters) but I am afraid of losing collagen in the rest of my eye and in other areas of my face and body. So until there is more scientific understanding in this area of whether the pineapple theoretically targets ONLY the bad stuff, I'm not going to chance getting more wrinkles and other things that happen when you lose collagen.

Reading the comments annoys me on how eye doctors take your money and do nothing! I had no floaters a month ago then suddenly got like 40+ at one time in both eyes that I see when looking left, right, up, down. As soon as I keep my vision straight they dissapear. But imagine trying to drive and looking left and right and all you see is black nats on every inch of your eye and doctor says youre fine. I hope pineapple works! I wouldn't ever go vegan but I'm gonna definitely just try veggies+fruits+chicken only

I did go to the optometrist and see whether he took floater pics. He did a scan of the eye ball, but it is not a photo of floaters through the pupil or anything. It was a scan that looked like this: ioc.med.br/blog/exame-oct-tomografia-de-coerencia-optica/
There were a couple of tiny specks he said could be floaters. Nothing much to see though. I wouldn't be able to keep up pineapple for a whole year - even 3 months was too hard to be 100% consistent. From my experience and from what I have heard, there seems to be more promise in fasting than in pineapple.

When you stopped eating the pineapple did your floaters become less mobile or did they remain the same with increased movement?

  • @peterpiper487
    @peterpiper487 Před 9 měsíci

CONSIDERATIONS: First of all, it's NOT the pineapple that works; it's the CORE of the pineapple that contains the high amount of bromelain. Also, it's been shown that a combination of bromelain and papain is the proper test (which has successfully been done by scientists) . Papain comes from papaya. And then there is the AMOUNT that is necessary. So instead of eating the fruit (completely missing the CORE of the pineapple where most of the bromelain is) it is best to purchase a supplement in tablet form which is scientifically calculated to to include the proper amount of each.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That sucks. Yeah, our vision is so significant in how we experience life. No need to die though! There are some risks with medical procedures, but better than death!
Have you tried looking beyond them? When you see them, instead of letting them take your attention, find something in the outside world beyond them and try to look at that. Like when you hold a finger up in front of your face, you can still choose to look at something past it.

I am not sure. The active ingredient is concentrated in the centre of the pineapple, which is cut out in canned pineapple. So it may depend on whether the juice is made with the centre.... But considering the centre is so fibrous, I don't imagine it juices that well. Further, pineapples are very high in sugar, so taking out all the fibre that goes with it and just drinking the juice isn't something I would want to do. Too much sugar isn't very good for the eyes. So, up to you, but my guess (I am not a medical professional) would be that it wouldn't be worth it.
