Command and conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge is a real time strategy game. The game allows you to play as the Allies or the Soviets, And in the expansion version, the option to play with Yuri was added.

Best mod I’ve ever played, c&c reloaded
It combines red alert 2 and tiberium sun units and maps and allows you to play them against each other.
The developer has done a really good job with this mod, it’s really good fun
Man i remenber clearly this type of RTS is like is primitive but is like arcade games... never gets old... is awkward! xD i has that feel of RTS and kinda arcade

My father which is almost 60 also like to play RA2, AOE2, WC3, Diablo 2.... Tried to teach him how to play Civ series when I was kid, but it was not his genre.
My dad is turning 60 and still plays the classics - RA2, Zero Hour, etc.
It's not the graphics that make a game great, it's the interaction. Same is true for a lot of classic 8-bit games. The concept is lost on a lot of developers.

Your will never find another game where the Chronosphere can be used to murder infantries, move ships to land, tanks to ocean to destroy them. This will never happen because developers nowadays will over emphasize “game balance”.
I prefer the graphics in RA2 to most modern games. More advanced or fancy or realistic graphics aren't necessarily better
Yep great gameplay wins over graphics. I still fire up the old xcom games " UFO/TFTD " from time to time.

Perfectly designed?! This is the most disbalanced game ever! Alliance is 2 classes better than Soviets and Yuri smashes them both together.
Every time I watch your videos I only get a few minutes in before I have to go and play RA2 myself. That's how good this game is.

EA really screwed up when they ran Westwood Studios into the ground. It was obvious the creators of Red Alert 3 had no idea how to create a RTS game. They made 80% of the vehicles Amphibious in RA3, so there was no longer a need for land-only units. The amphibious tanks could cross all terrain so that also made aircraft redundant. RA2 + Yuri's Revenge were the last good C&C games ever made. While C&C 3 and Kane's Wrath were ok, they still weren't on the same level as RA2 gameplay.
Good lord it's like a never ending D-Day invasion on your island.

I play RA2 and RA2 Yuris revenge still today as well and i love em i have played RA3 as well but RA2 is miles better in my opinion.

Red Alert 3 is actually really good, when u get into it. I started on it because I did play ra2 before, and ended playing aloot of ra3.

I never get board of this game it’s a timeless classic I use too play it too much when I was in school I would finish school get home and be playing on it against my mates till the early hours of the morning and be talking about the battles we had the next day in class! Great years
I played RA2 i think from 2003 to 2008 regulary, is a legendary game, and dota from warcraft, but i dont have time anymore to play, i tryed RA3 but still RA2 is better for me, also is nostalgic, i remember the childrenhood

Love your videos, inspired me to go back and replay! I grew up with C&C games haha! How do you get the game to run so smoothly? I have the original CD version and the digital version through origin and when I try to play the origin version the game is stuck at a certain resolution, the game is slow and sluggish even if I turn the game speed up and I cant even tab out or the game crashes on me!
In the ini file you have to change the resolution by hand, it’s not called .ini any more but if you search for .ini in the program folder you’ll find it, just open it in notepad 🫡
As for the sluggishness, Google it? Idk, are you using chrome? It takes up tons of processing power

red alert 2 never gets old.
I love the pacing and scale here the game gets going quickly. Buildings build fast and weapons seem to be strong with high impact. I like it.

Why is it so sped up? Everything looks like twice as fast as it always has since 2000, weird... Is the video sped up or do you actually play at double the default game speed? Thats crazy

I really miss when games were made like these were in the past. Studios like Westwood which gave us better RTS then anything made in the past 10 years. Hoping that Stormgate gives us FINALLY a new RTS to play. Why exactly is it that Red alert 2 is still one of the best RTS to play even though it is so old. Sucks that Supreme commander 2 failed but at least one was fun.
Sanctuary: Shattered Sun or BAR of beyond all reason should scratch this itch.
Stormgate, immortal: gates of pyre and zero space all seem to be interesting but really iterating on SC2 not big epic RTS

The number 1 thing that makes this game awesome is the soundtrack. Not because the rest of the game is bad, but because that soundtrack just slaps so hard.
Wish I could get my copy to work right. I have the collection version. Both on disc and origin and it doesn't like running on w10 for whatever reason

I miss this. Honestly, Tiberian Sun was awesome but the fastest gameplay mode was slower than the slowest RA2 mode.

i think in few years time, RA2 is gonna make a big comeback not like the RA3 one tho. RA2 and YR has a great potential for pvp tournament as well. Maybe, what the devs need is a revamp of the game like the graphics and controls stuffs. For example for group pvp, instead of playing a single base with too many going around, maybe the devs can do instead is one base for three or more players but separate control for the army, navy and airforce and intel something like that

It seems like you would have had an easier transition to navy if you had a critical mass of Robot tanks. Even versus undersea Dophins, your own Dophins could hit them first making the enemy Dophins targetable by the Robot tank. I know money wasn't an issue for you, but you probably could have achieved naval stability faster that way.

This will be different if you play it like an actual commander. You know you just dont pile up troops and do dog fights and win by just number. If you have a fleet, air troops and others, you could divide it and command it individually according to a strategy not to fight like an advanced AI. Attack using air force team then the ships then there is a retaliation group, etc something like that.

Where did you download the map with the rather crazy difficulty level that the normal game gives this map but without this difficulty?
You can download and play any of my maps, because I always upload a download link at the description. For the AI difficulty, here I use extra hard AI mod. The difficulty dosent come from the map
There's a lot of balancing still needed in the game.
Yuri is OP. IFV's are better AD value than Patriots.
Also why did you send all 3 spies into the refinery? You could have sent one to the refinery, one to the barracks and one to the war factory to get upgraded rank units.

This is probably the best game ever made.
I turned 56 on the 3rd of this month. I used to play Red Alert after I saw chinese-looking students playing it in 1997. I got kooked to it and was taking me whole day and overnight playing the different RA editions. I still want to play it and also the Age of Empire game, but I don't.
Playing this game is too damn stressful for me lol! My brain just can't process what's happening fast enough!
I'm still playing Red Alert 3 Upheaval 2, almost every day, but Red Alert 2 has the advantage of random generation of maps, and the ore yards. Anyway playing a strategic game as a an arcade with no strategy at all is really ridiculous.
