he made most of the time on the descent. It's a nice stage victory but in no way does it say anything about their respective performance, except for UAE clearly having the best team for mountains and Remco, Primož and Carlos holding pretty descently as well.
On the 800 m climb, he made a big enough difference, which increased with each meter.
In order for Jonas to have a shot at beating Tadej this year, he needs to be on his best form. He wasn’t today.
That's not the case, Tadej just got a bit of a distance using anaerobic bursts in which he's always better than Jonas. Same as previous years. That doesn't say anything about their climbing form
@@geuros They are climbing - doesn’t matter how it’s accomplished. If JV can’t match Tadej’s explosiveness, then he’ll be gapped. The more of a lead that Pogacar has, he can wait and sit on JV’s wheel. So, yes, it does matter.

Pogi was doing this to Jonas last year in week 1 and look how that tour ended. Week 3 reveals all
Pogi also didn't have a team that year and was fresh off an injury... Look at the UAE team, then look at who they can toss on the front to ride the legs off of all the other teams... That was the factor today. UAE looks like a beast in the mountain stages! Ayuso and crew look tough!
I am not sure you can compare it like this. The situation is really vice-versa, where Vinge is coming out from the injury. His show today is basically more impressive, considering what kind of injuries he had. Some say the media got a bit exaggerated info.
Next days and weeks will show where the riders stand, in my opinion especially the TT this week. We might see a surpise and maybe even a new yellow jersey rider.
Except taddy using his team to hurt him first unlike last year which is a game changer.
