Ai is not a bunch of numbers- its 1s and 0s. 1 meaning it gets an electrical charge, 0 being no charge. Its like quickly switching it on and off creating patterns which we have coded into a language. Its easy to just say its a bunch of numbers but as soon as you delve a bit deeper the analogy fails.
