I missed this era of Brenda Dickson and Terry Lester. I was still in high school then my first job. Damn I missed some great episodes with some great actors and actresses! 😢
Mal Young who worked on The UK Soap Operas Brookside (that had it's first Lesbian Kiss in 1994 and EastEnders that this year celebrates 35 Years on The Air) hated the background music. Terry Lester would have cursed out Mal Young if he had lived.
Brenda was caught in the middle amongst the Producers of the show on how they wanted the character of Jill to be portrayed. The West Coast Producers wanted her to “camp up” her performances so that she could be the daytime version of Alexis Carrington of Dynasty (the popular nighttime soap), whereas Bill Bell who was based out of Chicago, wanted her to be more so of how she was in the 83-85 version of Brenda’s portrayal of Jill which was more authentic.
Jack was Two Trips back in the day. On UK Soil Brenda Dickson and Terry Lester would have been voted "Best Double Act". They've had their share of Folks who cant' stand each ohter. Mal Young who worked on The Young & The Restless also worked on Eastenders. If it had been someone like Dru she would have said to Jill, "It's been a Trip & A Blip".
Thank you for this scene. I love Brenda's interpretation of Jill Abbott. Diva and vixen all in one. Can you post the famous court room scene of Jill vs Kay in Phillip Chancellor Jr adoption case? Talk about the drama. The magic of soaps was all there. The music, dialogue, hell even the lawyers all made it delicious.
Classic Y&R Background Music they need to bring it back today if they cant bring back some of the Former Co-Stars at least Bring back Classic Y&R Background Music i heard Eric Braeden Reached out to Producers of the Show to bring back Certain Background Music and past few months you can tell the Difference specially Victor Background Music
the whole storyline about Phillip Chancellor, Sr. and Jr., as well as the ongoing battles over the Chancellor Estate, etc was absolutely amazing drama,. it played out by some of the most talented actors and actresses in daytime history. i have to admit that i watched Y&R mostly because i wanted to see what Jill was going to scheme up next and how Mrs. Chancellor would fight back,...with the bottle in her hand. i was very disappointed when Brenda Dickson left the show. But we have to be honest. Jess Walton stepped right in and did a fantastic job as Jill. two very different actresses in a fabulous role. i loved every minute of it. now all we need is to see Brenda Dickson in another juicy role somewhere. OMG i would scream. i still love her and i remember her long-standing contribution to that show. man it was so so juicy and good. that lady performed!
David talked about "Buzzing" and then when Vanessa Lewis had a Temp on Guiding Light he had to Buzz before letting anyone in like Matt & Ross. I had no idea she was a Song & Dance Girl working with the Late Bob Hope and Terry Lester also has a Musical Background. It would have been so cool if those two sang together on the show (Kind Of Like Pre Karaoke). She is also a protégé of Lee Strasberg whose other alumni have been Al Pacino and Ellyn Burstyn.
Jack also used to call Charles "Cole" Howard Hemingway becuase he was a writer. He and Patricia Highsmith (Tom Ripley Books, The Price Of Salt/Carol) both loved visiting Mexico. I loved The Old Man & The Sea both Book and Movie Version.
I like Brenda as a brunette or red hair...the blonde doesn't bring her essence out...if she gets back on TV she definitely needs to go back to brunette or red...I love her red hair...
How may times did Jill say "Thank You David". I wish someone would do a montage on that. On the UK Soap Opera Vanessa Woodfield (Played By Michelle Hardwick) did multiple scenes where she talked about her Fiance Charity Dingle (Played By Emma Atkins).
In The UK they have a Show called "You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous!" Brenda Dickson would have been perfect on the Show. She went from being one of the top US Soap Opera Actresses who became Homeless, In Prison, and Blacklisted. She showed that you can be "replaced". They interviewed Donny Osmond who along with his Brothers were next to The Jackson Five the biggest Boy Band in the world in the 1970's, and in 1979 they were broke, and it took Donny 10 Years to come back. Julie Goodyear who played Bet Lynch on Coronation Street from 1970-1995 was also despised for being difficult to work with. I wish Brenda could talk to Jessie Wallace who has been playing Katherine "Kat" Slater on EastEnders on and off from 2000-to the present who was given a leave of absence due to her drinking. What's so funny is that Jack #2 and Jill #7 played by Peter Bergman and Jess Walton talked about the "past" and how they were "different" folks then. When Brenda said "Thank You David" it reminded me of how Cheryl Ann Tweedy of Girls Aloud thanked David The Guitarist when they were performing at Wembley which is the most powerful arena to play as a Recording Artist in England. Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, and Elton John have all performed there. Even Wham did their farewell Show there in 1985.
I remember this scene as the boys in my drama class were like they would not have rebuffed Jill's advances if they were Jack. Making references to Jill's breasts.
@Pop-Actor yes, but neither. do like 60 to 70% of the men in Hollywood, but that's why they went to acting school and many of their wives agree that they are good actors.
RIP Terry Lester
They were the sexiest versions of Jack and Jill. Terry was so smooth and suave as Jack and Brenda was just stunning
She made the show fun to watch
Loved Brenda as Jill! You can never top the original!
I missed this era of Brenda Dickson and Terry Lester. I was still in high school then my first job. Damn I missed some great episodes with some great actors and actresses! 😢
Must be nice to have a secretary serve you booze all day 😂
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ they were so much fun to watch!
Terry’s’ Jack was edgy & fun!!!!!
Jack would have been a riot on Hollyoaks and Jill too. They have some amazing narcisstic people there.
That back ground music is awesome
I know. I would totally buy this music if they'd put it out for sale
Mal Young who worked on The UK Soap Operas Brookside (that had it's first Lesbian Kiss in 1994 and EastEnders that this year celebrates 35 Years on The Air) hated the background music. Terry Lester would have cursed out Mal Young if he had lived.
Agreed
Some classic young and the restless
I think most of the original cast members from 1973 is still alive wish CBS find away to broadcast all 11,000 episodes on CBS.COM or something
I’d love that!!!!!! Or stream them -I’d buy it!!!!!!
The original and best Jill ever. Hess Walton could never equal Brenda Dickson. Her and Terry Lester were electric in their roles.
Jack & Jill went up the hill thinking they gonna fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down on top of his bed & Jill came on top of him answer.
Jack was great back then

Terry Lester was so damned hot.
I think the show wanted all the original cast off the show at somepoint
@@MrCraigblaze they held onto Kay, Victor and Nikki tho.
@@MrCraigblaze Terry Lester was person non grata after he spoke out on Laura Lee Bell.
@@Statefarmfan21 What did he say ?? XD
@@MrCraigblaze Cricket was the star of the show and was being showcase at the expense of the vets. Nepotism did have a part in it. And she was young.
She served a very Joan Collin’s Alexis from dynasty portrayal of Jill.

Has anyone else noticed how Billy acts just like Jack when it was younger?
It? Lolol
@@fraiser3330 I didn’t catch that 2 yrs ago 😭🤣🤣
Jack looks thin but still handsome

I love Brenda Dixon, she’s sassy and classy
Did Jack refer to David as Tonto? Oh my goodness lol...
🤣

I like when she slams the door and it stays open. lol
I like Brenda as a brunette or red hair...the blonde doesn't bring her essence out...if she gets back on TV she definitely needs to go back to brunette or red...I love her red hair...
My exact sentiments
@John Edwards who?
@John Edwards She not dead...Jeannie is but Brenda's alive
@John Edwards She alive..she post alot on social media. Jeannie who played Katherine pass in 2013.
Whoever said Blondes have more fun, never saw Brenda with Black hair, muchless red.
My great great grandmother was an Abbott! I wonder if we could be related 😎😂
I would like to see Brenda Dickson back on the screen again and another Soap Opera. Brenda is a Dorn good actress.
Brad the same Brad I am thinking about.
Brenda Dickson would have been perfect to do Audiobooks. She could have narrarated Nora Roberts Books.
I’d watch this show again if they could bring Terry back from the dead and bring back Jack from the dead too
How may times did Jill say "Thank You David". I wish someone would do a montage on that. On the UK Soap Opera Vanessa Woodfield (Played By Michelle Hardwick) did multiple scenes where she talked about her Fiance Charity Dingle (Played By Emma Atkins).
Damn! Brooke Logan still does the same shit today in 2021 on BB
In the early days they copied the original Blueprint from 1973.
I was to young to remember these but still fun to watch..... that awful hat......I forgot different actresses played Jill🤣
There was Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon, Judith Chapman who was Substitute Jill and then Brenda Dickson.
@@laminage Brenda Dickson was the original Jill Abbott. No one could play Jill like Brenda Dickson and I mean no one.

Terry is the only Jack Abbott!
What year is this .??
Is this the same David that was with Nina?
Yep that is THE David Kimble! Lol
What the hell is on her head?! lol
If I remember right David ended up under a concrete slab or in it
He was crushed in a dumpster or sum so.
Dani Lang that right I was thinking of knots landing
Crushed in a trash compactor!!!
She was good as Jill but i felt she over acted
So she tried to get him into a sexual position to keep him from the meeting?
I remember this scene as the boys in my drama class were like they would not have rebuffed Jill's advances if they were Jack. Making references to Jill's breasts.

I never really liked Jess Walton as Jill. All the others were fine
Me too!😁😁 Jess Walton just doesn't fit the part, imo
Jess is mean but has no class I think that the missing piece of the puzzle
Im not sure if it good acting or bad but you cant not watch her be mean
I think the new Jill ruins the chemistry of the show with Kay and her acting wasn’t as sharp and she wasn’t as fashionable
