I understand blockchain from a financial side and am very grateful for it. But a BlockChain City was proposed for my area which meant a city with self governing powers and the ability to take over neighboring communities all for the cost of 50k to the governor. Luckily the guy is a nanny toucher and his second allegation shut the deal down. I recommend please take a minute and truly understand what is being proposed who is in charge of implementing and how. It can go terribly wrong and everyone will have to pay the consequences.

This does not address the negative side of block chain. If you loose the. Token/key you are screwed. Also it takes lots of electricity to mine bit coins.According to one study Bitcoin mining consumes around 91 terawatt-hours of electricity annually. That's more annual electricity use than all of Finland, which is a country of 5.5 million people. More electricity than all of google.

Invest in btc and sit tight for 5-10 yrs. A $1600 investment will be worth 2 million within a decade. The market cap is huge and people can't wrap their head around it. I am getting my second passport and looking on which dual citizenship I am going to pursue. Educate yourself and become international. Dont live in fear nor regret. Interesting, very interesting, but still who is in charge? Humans, of course, some have good feelings but there are those who see in this a great window for greed and power, let us remember industrialisation, energy, oil, capitalism, socialism, atomic energy, etc... Greed and the love of money are very poisonous to our lives. Any way. I hope we may better understand this and take down no the government but the corrupt politicians and evil empires.

I'm trying to get on this train, but when you said people would be paid based on productivity, that's furthering the already strong patriarchal system....curious about perspectives that may help me see this from another perspective. To me, it benefits the already wealthy that either have access through social circles or monetarily...and tech. The biggest money-making industry of all.....which, is a male-dominated industry. I'm familiar with how this feels as a woman, coming from Architecture. Anyway, views from my perspective.
The currency may change, but do the ethics and values? Will we care about humans more somehow through this?

So if there's a power outage or if the internet is cut, you won't be able to make any transactions? Also, is internet speed or computing power considered to be an important factor in processing transactions? What is blockchain's limiting factor?
Good question but when was the last time the global Internet was down. Also, decentralised whilst the power of Internet distribution is in the hands of the governments 🤔
godspeasant Speed of Bitcoin transactions is limiting. Cardano which is block chain 3.0 has taken this into account and will be able to offer much faster transactions and is scale able, getting bigger wont slow it down.
Thanks for your comments.. Blockchain is a very wide application platform. As an example Bitcoin developed on Blockchain has a limit on the number of transactions per hour. Other applications may not have the same limits. Its really dependent on how apps are designed on the platform.
