Ben has caused Callum a lot of heartache. Ben finally get Callum free. Callum has opportunity to grow. Callum needs a new love interest.
My main takeaway from this, is thank goodness Callum isn't angry with him any more. That unearned poison was so harmful. They can be friends, maybe. Perhaps they'll get back together, perhaps they won't, but Ben's right - they were already damaged before Lewis. It's bittersweet.

I hope that Ben and Lexi’s relationship is the main focus, I think she’s the most important person in his life and the biggest motivation for him. I hope this is the start of Ben finding the help he needs and to actually liking himself for a change, instead of hating himself all the time. I have to say Max Bowden is brilliant as Ben, he’s been absolutely amazing throughout this whole storyline. I think that Eastenders and everyone involved, have been doing a great job, I feel totally invested in these characters and care for them.❤x

I hope so! Something good needs to come out of losing a beloved character.

We need to remember that Ben's streak of self-destructive behavior these past six months began on New Year's Day when Ben froze when he saw Callum being beaten. Being paralyzed like that is what led to him objecting to Callum as a "Pride Copper", to the random assaults on people he saw as homophobic, to him turning to Lewis for consolation because he thought Callum didn't "get him", etc. That's when the downward spiral started, IMO. Also, he had a very unstable upbringing, esp. having such a toxic role model (Phil) for what it means to be a man. Ben's a mess but with help (professional) and support (Callum, Jay, his Mom) he can make it. Not easily but certainly successfully.

Like I said in the previous clips, they have a lot to work on, it might be good for them to take some time off not as lovers, but maybe still can be friends, supporting each other, that’s more comfortable for the 2 of them right now, if Callum rushes to be back with Ben, he might end up back in that anger/pain cycle, constantly worrying and anxious about what Ben might do, before Ben can make any progress on himself, it won’t be healthy for Callum to be back with him yet, give it time, if Callum constantly worrying especially now with everything going on with Stuart, it’s really not a good time, he might be so stressed and it would harm his health a lot…. So this scene actually makes a lot more logical sense, and it also clearly shows how deeply the 2 of them are still feeling for each other especially when Ben holds Callum’s hands and say “baby! It's truly saddening watching Callum beg for Ben's attention/affection. Their "relationship" has been nothing but abusive since day one. Ben abuses Callum mentally, emotionally AND verbally. I'd kill for my very own Callum. Their "relationship" is so TURBULENT, that my stomach ties in knots just watching it play out. I do love them together when ALL is going well however. C'est la vie I guess.
Their breakup is sad but I'm really glad it was Ben who decided they were over. It was necessary for his journey. Ben needs to work on himself before getting back with Callum, and he knows it. With how quickly wanted Callum for things to go back to "normal," it would've been harmful for both of them. I don't mind if they get back together or not, as long as whatever happens is true to these characters' history.

I'm sad that Ballum is over...temporarily (hopefully) but I'm also relieved that this whole storyline is over. This all stemmed from early this year and everything that happened was so painful and harrowing (probably the writers' intention). I'm also glad that Callum finally knows and of course he blames himself and now that he knows the truth he wants to salvage their relationship again. And typical Ben going 'you're too good for me and you deserve someone better than me' and then gets all jealous when Callum talks to another guy. This all just sums up Ballum's relationship 😅 i guess now the focus is on Stuart's departure and then Lola's.

I'm stunned by Callum's inconsistencies. This is the same guy who told Ben he didn't wanna have to deal with him or any of the Mitchell's anymore recently. Who partied with Whitney and presumed the worst of Ben without knowing anything. And now he is basically begging Ben for another chance? I think it's best if they stay apart for a while or slowly start rebuilding their trust and friendship and see if it can lead to more again. They've both been hurting severely. I would be wary too to restart a relationship.

Callum will try to help Ben because he still loves him, but Ben will stop him. Ben willing to go to jail to get justice, but Phil will take the blame.

Like I said in the previous clips, they have a lot to work on, it might be good for them to take some time off not as lovers, but maybe still can be friends, supporting each other, that’s more comfortable for the 2 of them right now, if Callum rushes to be back with Ben, he might end up back in that anger/pain cycle, constantly worrying and anxious about what Ben might do, before Ben can make any progress on himself, it won’t be healthy for Callum to be back with him yet, give it time, if Callum constantly worrying especially now with everything going on with Stuart, it’s really not a good time, he might be so stressed and it would harm his health a lot….
So this scene actually makes a lot more logical sense, and it also clearly shows how deeply the 2 of them are still feeling for each other especially when Ben holds Callum’s hands and say “baby! Listen to me…!!” It melts my heart🥺🥺🥺🥺… give it time, let’s be patient, the story is far from over for the 2 of them, eventually they will find their way back to each other, in the mean time, I’m ok if the 2 of them are just being friends while they figure themselves out!!😇😇😇🤭🤭🤭

It's truly saddening watching Callum beg for Ben's attention/affection. Their "relationship" has been nothing but abusive since day one. Ben abuses Callum mentally, emotionally AND verbally. I'd kill for my very own Callum. Their "relationship" is so TURBULENT, that my stomach ties in knots just watching it play out. I do love them together when ALL is going well however. C'est la vie I guess.

Their breakup is sad but I'm really glad it was Ben who decided they were over. It was necessary for his journey. Ben needs to work on himself before getting back with Callum, and he knows it. With how quickly wanted Callum for things to go back to "normal," it would've been harmful for both of them. I don't mind if they get back together or not, as long as whatever happens is true to these characters' history.

Y'know, ben had had such a long time to think and brood and he already had to live with them having "broken up" for a while. Ben has twisted things in his head so much that he's believing it all. Unless ben is gonna het anything useful from like Therapy or something, I doubt they are getting back together

I'm sad that Ballum is over...temporarily (hopefully) but I'm also relieved that this whole storyline is over. This all stemmed from early this year and everything that happened was so painful and harrowing (probably the writers' intention). I'm also glad that Callum finally knows and of course he blames himself and now that he knows the truth he wants to salvage their relationship again. And typical Ben going 'you're too good for me and you deserve someone better than me' and then gets all jealous when Callum talks to another guy. This all just sums up Ballum's relationship 😅 i guess now the focus is on Stuart's departure and then Lola's.

I'm stunned by Callum's inconsistencies. This is the same guy who told Ben he didn't wanna have to deal with him or any of the Mitchell's anymore recently. Who partied with Whitney and presumed the worst of Ben without knowing anything. And now he is basically begging Ben for another chance? I think it's best if they stay apart for a while or slowly start rebuilding their trust and friendship and see if it can lead to more again. They've both been hurting severely. I would be wary too to restart a relationship.

I don't know how sexual assault investigations are done, but I get the feeling they will find more victims from the "10" previous partners that Lewis had. The chlamydia connecting them together. In an attempt to get Ben to retract his accusation, Lewis is going to try to use the kidnapping and attempted murder against Ben. Callum will try to help Ben because he still loves him, but Ben will stop him. Ben willing to go to jail to get justice, but Phil will take the blame.

Yeah that will make such great soap to watch. Two totally bland individuals with no complications. I mean Tony fans complain NOW that he doesn't get any airtime or story, go on and put him in a relationship with an equally sweet uncomplicated person and see how often he will be on the show. That's not how it works in soaps.
I agree Ben is a criminal and he has mental health issues. A quick fix after rape reveal makes no sense. Callum integrity went downhill with Ben. Callum became a corrupt cop. It gets boring Ben does something stupid and criminal and Callum covers up. The dynamic is wrong. Ben isn't supportive of Callum either. I think Callum DOES need to date someone new get new experiences with other men.
