Thank you so much for posting this scene at a higher brightness level. You really need to see the facial expressions of Ben to truly appreciate the power of this scene. In the previous scene, Ben came to Callum apologetically and honestly, and when he gets that text, it's like he's a lovesick teen getting a message from his crush. When Callum arrives, his joke lacks any of the venom or sharpness of his previous jabs. Then things get intense. Despite what Callum claims, I don't really think Ben is scared anywhere in this scene. In fact I think he's more hurt than anything else. After all, not only is his crush not there for the reason he thought, but he threatens Ben in a way that frankly is an especially low blow given that Callum knows what happened to Paul by this point. Oh Ben tries to put on that arrogant tough guy face, but it isn't working as too much of his hurt is bleeding through, especially when Callum moves and for a split second Ben thinks Callum will actually hit him. And then there's Callum, as always putting the responsibility on someone else, displacing the blame. But when Ben tells him to do it, on some level he realizes that it won't help anything. The issue will still be there. And in that revelation, all that despair comes pouring out. I could practically hear Ben's mind saying it's own version of Callums speech. And then Ben does what all lonely people do, attempts a connection. And the intensity of that connection is so great that it overwhelms them and takes them. It's a shame they didn't have the "walk of shame" or "OMG what did we do" moment for Callum. It would have been interesting to see how they left things after having a naughty. Can't say this enough. Brilliant acting, brilliant writing.
It's a documentary about the hardship of a young couple, it's directed by Ken Loach.( It inspired the creation of Shelter,the charity). I thought how a struggle for love, and recognition related to Ben and Callum,their challenges.✌️♥️.

Callum wanted to meet with him. Ben thought it meant something good, then Callum was angry at him and Ben thought he wanted to fight. It was very complicated!
