A lot of people just watch the first 5 seconds of the video and assume that the lion is dead. Please note that Coyote loves animals and would never shoot one, nor would he ever work with people who shoot animals. He hates people who shoot animals. If you watch the whole video, or even the first 2 minutes, you will see that the lions are being tranquilized, not shot.
This is probably what aliens do to us and we wake up and never know

I noticed several people claiming the lions are "bleeding": that is not blood. When you see those streaks of pinkish reddish liquid on the lions, that is dye from the tranquilizer. It does that so the shooter or whoever is involved can tell if the dart hit its mark or not. "But can't you see the dart sticking out?" Not necessarily. If there was no dye and the dart fell out, you'd have no way to tell if that animal had been struck or not. The dye signifies that even if the dart fell out, the animal was still hit. What's more, I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I know the dye only comes out after the tranquilizing agent has been injected to insure you're not walking up to a half sedated animal.
