    Very nice content and review. I'm not a fan of roof top tents. I found it nicer to use my Kodiak truck tent. I use my tent for all four seasons and never had a leak. I like the ability to stand in my tent to change or just stretch. it takes my son and I about 7 minutes to set up our tent and trifold cots to sleep on. My rig is a 2021 Silverado crew cab RST Z71 4x4.

    Great information and walk through video. If I may add, as a two-time owner of the iKamper RTT's, after buying an iKamper the iKamper Company distances itself from any major problems or issues you may have with your RTT. The customer service is ONLY via email. There is no CRM - period. There is no service center department to call and speak with anyone from the iKamper company itself. I just ordered my second RTT from them ( my first experience was great by the way) and they lost it during the shipping. I called the shipping company and am trying my best to locate my iKamper RTT. I just want people to know that although influencers are my people, iKamper is not straight up honest. They will leave you on the hook for your $$$ spent. They got theirs.

    If you wife (who doesn't look like she's 5'8") can set this up on top of a huge pickup truck while it's pretty windy, that's a well designed tent. These things are pricey but all the reviews I've seen: their owners swear by their reliability and design. If this stupid scamdemic ends, I'll try to pick up one of these. Yeah, it's going to be hard on the bank but it would be perfect on top of a tiny trailer. I like that you have a raised frame. I might consider something like that to squeeze more room out of the trailer. Just so many decisions here. The biggest problem is finding out how to hitch the trailer to a VW Golf with a turbo engine. On the other hand, this is why a stick shift isn't bad, you can skip around gears and force the transmission to stay in 2nd or 3rd while coasting down short hills.

      @halohalohikers3571  Před 3 lety

      I used the ikampers first version of mounting bracket and bought longer bolts at the hardware store!

      @@halohalohikers3571 just figured this out haha. How did you mount it near the cab? My bars are pretty close to the cab and the rails don’t go far enough to allow me to have space to run the 1.0 brackets once I receive them. Thanks for the info man.

      @@OneLowPony it is a tight fit, but I just tightened down the bracket really tight and the tent doesn’t move it all. Also I see now that Putco sells an additional crossbar you can place in the middle for the added support and mounting access.

      @@halohalohikers3571 haha I actually have 2 of the extra crossbars. It came with it when I bought the bed rack off Amazon. Just didn’t come with the “coretec” mounting plates that I would need to make it work. I think that’s the best way to do it. I appreciate all your help. My truck literally looks likes your twin, but in black lol.

      It can! It depends on how tall your truck is, mine is too tall for parking structures or car washes.

    RTT, last years fad, say you go to Yellowstone for a week, you have to set up and break down a Top Heavy Tent 7 times, a ground tent once, no thanks

      Maybe getting off the ground in Yellowstone is worth setting up and breaking camp daily. Not saying it's a guarantee for not ending up as bear food, but maybe the animal moves on to something easier.
