Why CZcams didn't propose me this video back in 2019, I would have saved 5 years on trying to guess chords voicing formulas ... ! Thank you Sir !
I loved how you said "this.. whachacallit... Patreon page", lol. Thanks for the great lesson, sir!
Hey Tony. Just a thankful shouut out for all the stuff you're doing here. I was a serious classical piano guy all of my life and so never had the training and study of harmony as much as you jazz guys have, yet I love jazz ...and the old standards. Anyway, I recently bought a new-to-me grand piano after 20 years of no piano at all, and I now find myself loving to work with the Great American Songbook and trying to incorporate and some of the things I normally do by ear. 9ths, 11ths and 13ths are a whole new world to this old piano player. It's a whole new canvas to paint on, for me.
"It could Happen To You" is one of my favorite tunes, btw.
Your piano sounds great and you to so even if that's slow it's so beautiful
You explain everything and that's great. As a total beginner in open voicings the tangerine video was hard to understand but in this video it's crystal clear
"you can add shit to 'em" haha great
You got it good Tony, all kinds of musicians aspire from your talents
Thank you so much. You explain everything so clearly. Thank you for the open voicing formulas, so helpful.
You are so welcome!
As someone who just started listening to piano, thank you for the informative look behind the scenes of what goes into a song! I've only heard Ryo Fukui's version and it is amazing.
Really useful. Thanks 👍
Great song. I’m going to learn to play this.
Thank you Tony!! Extremely helpful video. I appreciate your videos so much from Tucson!
love it...very useful and helpful...thx a lot for sharing
Thank you soooo much Mr. Winston for the study sheets that's more than kind !! Sincerely Teddy Korbos !! ;)')
Thanks a lot maestro
The original (and still commonly used) chords for the first four bars are EbMa7, Edim, Fm7, F#dim. How would you play those?
the bar 15 16 I like F#m7 B7 I Fm7 B7 Reharm( I real Pro version)
Very informative, although I haven't even started Piano yet lol
Buenisimo
Yes, it could happen to you
👏👏👏
Hi Tony
Maybe I missed something but you listed a few PDFs to print and the first open voicing one is 1 page? The A &B sections. The A section would repeat unchanged if you didn’t want to change voicings a bit, but the B section doesn’t repeat? It’s aB1 or C section I prefer to think of. Was there a page 2 to this pdf?
Thank you. You are one of my favorite teachers
Bruce
Thanks Bruce. It's just the first half. the 2nd half starts the same but ends differently. ABAC song form. Your assignment is to write out the C section . lol
