I see faith as having three elements: a promise, power, and willingness. We believe in a God who zealously delivers on the promises He made (Isaiah 9:7).
As for the place of good works in our lives, John says, "We love because He first loved us" (I John 4:19), and, "When we see Him, we will be like Him" (I John 3:2). If God's love for us is so great Jesus died on a cross for our sins, how can we not love Him in return. Anyone who does not have good works has not seen the love of God. Those growing in good works are seeking to know the love of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says that grace is the gift not faith. As Got Questions is a Calvinistic ministry, I can see how they believe this but again it’s grace that’s the gift of God. God’s grace is the gift.
    - Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

@@gordo191 Yes! He was 👉Fulfilling👈 the Law😉....Matthew 5:17-20....He had to Fulfill the Old Covenant that God made with the Jews & also established the New Covenant with all peoples, based on His Own Person, Being & Righteousness...i.e. His Works, rather than our own works. It is only by placing our faith in Him & His perfection that we are "saved", not our own efforts😉👍
....and for the record, yes! Jesus kept the Sabbath. He also kept the ENTIRE LAW!...He fasted 40 days & 40 nights ..walked on water, turned water into wine, healed thousands, etc, etc, etc, SDA's & their allies know what they believe very well, but it is "another gospel" rooted in confusion & their own efforts, or works. Followers of Christ worship Christ, "The Lord of the Sabbath"...SDA's worship the Sabbath & emphasize man & His efforts 🤷‍♂️

1st John 2 v 3 it is by this that we know him if we keep his commandments he who says I know him and does not keep his commandments is a liar and there is no truth in him
Revelation 12 v 17. The dragon was enraged with the woman and the remnant of her seed and went to war with those that keep the commandments of GOD and have the testimony of JESUS CHRIST
Revelation 14 v 12 here is the patience of the saints who keep the commandments of GOD and have the testimony of JESUS CHRIST
There are Ten Commandments not nine , you cannot take away one of the commandments Mathew 5 v 18 Heaven and earth shall in no way pass before one jot or tittle shall change from the law...
Why did JESUS mention the Sabbath day in Mathew 24 when he foretold of the destruction of the temple which happened 70 years after his ascension, He told the Apostles to flee into the mountains and pray that your flight does not take place on the SABBATH DAY or in the winter ,some say he was only talking to the jews but how can that be if there were gentile converts with them as well There are many more denominations that keep the seventh day Sabbath and why do 99% of churches teach the ten commandments even the Catholic Church teach them even tho they have changed them from the original, In those ten commandments is the fourth commandment, Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy why would GOD say to REMEMBER it if it was abolished, Do we.worship the Sabbath no we worship every day in everything we do ,we acknowledge the seventh day as the LORDS day as we are commanded to do , you are commanded not to steal. Murder, lie , commit adultry , aren't you, you are also commanded to keep the Sabbath,

      @Adrenalean767 @sandman9390Hebrews 4:1-11
      New International Version
On verse 9 it specifically says that there remains a Sabbath - rest for God's people. Both Jews and Gentiles because we all are grafted in the kingdom. We are not to observe the Sabbath in a legalistic manner. That's why Jesus illustrated though out His ministry how we are to honor the Sabbath. Why would He emphasize on something that would be done away with?
A Sabbath-Rest for the People of God
4 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[a] 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
“So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’”[b]
And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. 4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.”[c] 5 And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”
6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
      do not harden your hearts.”[d]
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e] just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ:
In my experience this teaching isn't really emphasized many churches today:
"No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God." -1 John 3:9
It's not works that save you, but a kind of faith that will produce works - i.e., obedient faith. John 10 says that the sheep of Jesus know His voice and FOLLOW Him.
Jesus said in John 15 that those who don't abide in Him are cut off as branches ( John 15:2 says these are Christians that were already attached to Jesus "in me [Jesus]"). And that to abide: "If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love."
Hebrews 3 makes it clear that the early Israelites could not enter the promise land because of "unbelief" which the chapter describes as disobedience (so obedience to God/Jesus go hand-in-hand with believing).
Remember also, Jesus is both our Savior and our Lord. Lord = master, so when you read passages like: "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. " -Romans 10:9
...there is no contradiction. Lord = master, and if we confess truly that Jesus is our master, we obey our master.
This information today us NOT made clear in every church. Many I have heard say that we can't mention works in relation to salvation, but it's by our works that others know we are walking in faith, James says: "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him" -James 2:14
And finally, we are called to examine ourselves each day to make sure we are walking in the faith. -2 Corinthians 13:5
And of course, our sins from the past, present, and future are forgiven and so too are sins we make mistakenly or out of weakness. However, the Bible says that habitual and unrepentant sinning is not forgiven. Hebrews 10:26-27:
"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries."
God be with you in this journey - this life is but a testing ground. Jesus is coming soon.

The adversary has set the scene by passing science THEORIES such as big-bang theory and theory of evolution as if they are factual while in reality these are IDEAS only and not facts (science). After creating this confusion, the satan will then winnow the wheat.
Having faith means that we believe without proof (no matter what lie is thrown at us) and have patience as God works in the background to restore peace and justice.
Without faith, a Christian can easily abandon his/her belief in God as the satan winnows.

So much depends on interpretation. I just read your answers about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. It contradicts the views and experience of most Christians for most of the past 2000 years, not to mention the Early Fathers, the earliest of whom knew the Apostles. You are presenting one (fundamentalist Protestant) interpretation of Scripture which in fact, is one of many. You are convinced that you are right. I am equally convinced that at least on the issue I looked at, you are sadly very much mistaken. I look forward this week to an intimate experience of God but receiving the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of my Lord and Saviour in Holy Communion. Nothing in it according to you. You couldn’t be further from the truth!
