- Bikepark Wale is one of the best places to ride mountain bikes in the UK. It's got everything from jumps, drops, berms, single tracks, technical trails, rocks, roots, and everything in between!
This was our first time visiting BikePark Wales - and we wanted to see why it was so damn popular.
We rode most of the trails (our goal was to ride them all) from blues, reds, and blacks.
Definitely will be going back to ride the new trails that have recently been built.
Hopefully this video will help you if it's your first time visiting the Bikepark with a good variety of progressive trails.

All abilities all ages on the trails having a go. That's what makes bpw different there's bog standard fire road stuff all the way to vanta. Every level of rider can go to progress. Sick vid again 👍
Well said! I can't wait to go back and ride the new jump lines
Very good 👍💪Alex and Amanda 🤟🏻
Thanks Edgar 🙏
What a place!! Thank you so much for sharing this, I really appreciated the virtual rides with you guys.. especially when it's a park that has been on my radar for some time now! 😁
Thank you so much for this guys,i now know what trails and in what order im gonna do them when i go in the new year 👍
Getting me pumped to come home and ride!!!
#biggestfan
Planning on riding BPW next year so glad I came across this video, great guide about the place
Thanks for sharing, im in Scotland so would probably make a few days of it, progression looks appealing. Great vlog guys
I absolutely love it! A bunch of us have been going down every year for the past few years, and it never gets old. Maybe next year I'll be able to do some jumps 🙈😂
Another great video guys, looks epic and can’t wait to ride it for the first time in a couple weeks 🤙🏼
Cracking video, I love how gnarly you were to say it was your first time there, just going in blind trusting that the trails are engineered correctly, nice 🤟
I'm off there tomorrow 👍👍👍
Was there last Sunday. It’s such a great place for progression and just a super sick day out
Agreed!
Great video . You were lucky with the weather. I only live 20 mins from Bikepark Wales and it can be dry at my house but chucking it down there !
Nice vid Alex, got me even more hyped to go hit the jumps as they’ve rebuilt so many of them since I was last there. A470 looks soooo nice and I need to hit that Blackadder line. Think the GoPro makes things look smaller that in reality
Great video, cannot wait to get back here at end of the month. 50 shades of black is my target, well once seen in person of course as know gopro effect is in full force on videos 👍🏼
🤙 from N Arkansas. Great content. Riding Wales is on my bucket list for sure. Thanx for a great look see. We love rock and root and killer jump lines for sure. ✌️
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed the video! You should definitely make the trip over - plenty of really cool places to ride
just what we needed thanks for this im getting my new vitus nucleous next week im getting my partner in to all this and were heading to BPW in sept !!
This was sick 🤙🏾 great riding guys 💪🏾
Appreciate it!! Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video
Just loving your videos !! Looking to get my first MTB for years at the tender age of 56, (still a little mad though) and watching you all just gives me an amazing buzz !!
That's amazing to hear and stirs me on to just make more videos! THANK YOU
Do it! I'm 40 this year and just got back into MTB. If you can stretch to an eBike you will not regret it!
I visited BPW at the weekend and loved it. I am fortunate enough to live only 20 mins away from BPW so will be visiting regularly 😀
Great vid guys ! The idea behind the drops at the start of certain trails is to tell you what type of trail to expect! So if the drop looks to big for certain people then you don’t go down it ;) almost like a built in safety feature 👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Exactly that! It's really straightforward to progress at Bikepark Wales!
I like big berms and I cannot lie.
And me!
April 2023, can't wait...!
Looks so good 🤘🔥
Really is a fun Bike Park!
Great video, I'm heading to bike park Wales end of October for four days with my hardtail 😁. I will do green Kermit first to introduce myself to the area, then only blue trails for me with an easy red or two if there are any easy ones.
Great vid. I've done a few blacks there but my abilities lie a bit more in the red tech. Agree with Amanda that wibbly wobbly is good fun. Hot Stepper and Root Manoeuvres are my favourite though - should definitely give RM a go next time.
Glad you enjoyed BP Wales - it's such a good place for progressing riding - so many trails! I'd love to ride Vanta when I go back
Love your vids, going from bog standard to mental stuff. Also good to see some more “normal” riders there, knowing you don’t have to Deathgrip down everything!
Sixtapod is by far my favourite track, Its the one im personally most comfortable with
That’s a fun trail for sure
@@wolfpack_adventures 100% I really like the flow in the forest bit
Epic place to ride been twice so far this year doing 2 full days each time...you sure know about it at the end of the second day..🤟
Looks really good place to ride 🤘🤘
Having to learn the trails before being comfortable with them... That's where I'm at too.
You know you've got it but it takes a couple of goes.... At some point in your progression I'm guessing you just start learning to read the trail and your abilities are better almost instinctively.
So I believe the mindset of wanting to learn the trail first before you're comfortable, is a transitional one and not something to define yourself by. The more variety you ride the better you get at riding blind trails.
Actually, here in Ireland if you're savvy, you can learn the styles of the trail builder and know what to expect from a blind run...
great video....one of the funnest ive seen for BPW...makes me want to go even more....taking the family next summer...being an...er...older rider.....whats the difference between old school and new school....we all ride mountain bikes.....im guessing thats old school....
Old school = older bike
New school = newer, modern bike
LOL! Glad yo enjoyed it too - make sure you go, it's a class place to spend a day or two! Maybe more
Next time you;re down, call into CrossFit 470, only 200 yards away from BPW!
That is definitely our list for the next visit!
Great video as always guys. Bike Park Wales looks awesome. Would love to ride it. Q. Are you still running the coil shock Alex?
Glad you enjoyed the vid Steve! Yep, still rocking the DVO shock, will be doing a comparison vs air shock soon
10:00 I can see why signs would seem useful, but I really think that they encourage people to ride a trail blind before walking (or rolling) it. ACDC is a red plus grade and is noticeably more difficult than Vicious Valley which lies towards the easier end of the reds. The main criticism of that trail specifically is that the trail qualifier is a lot easier than the features later in the trail.
Thanks for the video - a couple of days defintely sounds idea if you're a first time viditor to the place. So many blogs of tis place, but what about MTB friendly places to stay if you're travelling down from Scotland and donlt have a motorhome!?
Need to do some homework on this front and see about suitable accomodation, as it's likely always heavily booked up...(covid-not-withstanding)
I see BPW website has an accomodation section with properties listed - so that's good ! I had not realised until today....
There’s loads of Air B&B’s round here now, also BPW are apparently building some cabin type accommodation in future.
Good effort getting every single name wrong at the end. You need to go back and try Merthyr Rocks in the driving rain. It's an experience.. not necessarily a good experience, but character forming. I've changed my shoes for ones that are free draining and invested in waterproof socks since that visit
The staff are so friendly noting is to much trouble. No one cares what your riding every one there just loving riding with mates great place
hi can i ask what tires you used ? i used 27.5 3.5 but i think is to wide? thanks nice to watch yours :)
Hey, 2.5 WTB Verdict on the front, and a 2.4 WTB Judge on the rear - hope that helps 👍
Nice video! What bike are you riding out of interest? Bike Park Wales does look really cool 👍
Vitus Sommet 🤟
Your rear hub sounds a lot louder than mine (same bike). Did you swap it out for a 27.5?
Nukeproof Horizon Hubs
@@wolfpack_adventures Mullet?
It's a great place for all abilities . Just the lack of gradient and pretty expensive uplift price are the biggest negatives.
This! There's a handful of trails close together which have some proper steepness to them (Escort, Bonneyville, Rock n Roll, Half Cut) but that's pretty much it. The park itself doesn't have much properly steep terrain sadly
I think that ''enter the dragon'' massive jump line is suitable to release my marriage problem 🤣
Why is the uplift no where near the end of most of the trails ?
So they can have more riders doing Less runs ! it’s a good place for beginners to progress, but Dyfi is the uks best bike park hands down 🤘🏼
💰 🐮
Can you bring a camper van
Yes, plenty of space
13:33 Ur gonna need a good lawyer for a case that big
Do these orange bike pants make my butt look fat ... yes ... yes they do
It’s not deep in the valleys at all
for me it is.
@@wolfpack_adventures It is hardly even in the valleys tbh, but each to their own
BPW is definitely an EBIKE place. It doesn't make sense why the trails don't go back to the uplift further down and they run them from the centre, it makes no sense to be gassed by the time you have even got to the uplift with the trail to the uplift, the setup is just strange, there was more walking than riding to be honest with about 5 runs in total. Then for instance a470, yeah its ok but the pedalling between, most would be completely gassed by the time they got to the bottom half. When you say you dont have to pedal anywhere, that's a lie for starters, like sixtapod, what waste of run I found. But yeah great for all abilities to progress, but definitely revolution, DYFI and black mountains is a more hardcore experience.
🚴🏻 🏔
My granny could monster you embryos on that
shame its closed down now
I'LL tell you why! Because its designed for normal people who have a job to go back to on Monday and have to buy their own bikes and pay for repairs!!!!!! The trails aren't designed for doing backflips and tail whips for Instagram feeds on every jump. Its not a personal play park for elite riders who have tailored the trails to suit themselves.
Hit a nerve 😂
I get what you’re saying - but there’s a whole host of tracks, features and jumps up there that are tailored to elite riders, as well as ‘normal people’
@@wolfpack_adventures yeah i know what it has to offer. My point is that its a great site for the average joe rider to enjoy and develop. Its not a private play park for elite crews.
Unpopular opinion.. BPW is the worst of the Welsh bike parks.. By far. Jumps are ok if you want to do some sprint training.
Most average riders would definitely die if they went straight to Dyfi based on the videos I have seen, therefore I think your view is a bit subjective. BPW and the people who run it are sound and its popularity speaks for itself.
@@thomasamos4055 yea I get where you are coming from.. Its just iv never met someone who's been to another bike park and then proceeded to rave about BPW, seems to be people who have only been there. Just my experience I guess, clearly lots a people like it
Completely disagree lol. The red, black, and new Vanta line are all fantastic. O
However I Dyfi, and Revs are a different breed of bikepark for jumps IMO - much bigger.
Bike Park Wales is a better place for beginners.
@@wolfpack_adventures I guess that's why I think it's an unpopular opinion haha. I just think people might go there and think that's the best the uk bike seen has to offer, which saddens me!
again 4 mins in and its another riding vid when video is about why this bike park is so great. nothing about why is it great. its like you made out tittle and then do a riding video that has nothing to do with the tittle
its like why this movie is so great then showing the trailer about it.
K thanks x
do y'all have instagram?
