I sincerely hope this film brings the beauty of 2D animation back as a viable option in Pixar's eyes, in shorts as well as feature films. Your fans wholeheartedly enjoy 3D animation, but 2D is a beloved medium that has been, unfortunately, pushed to the margins of the animation industry. We'd love to see more charming films like Kitbull soon!

@@alexxx4434 - they push it because it does the job better. 3D is more immersive than 2D and people watch movies to be immersed, not to pat an animator's back for their hard labor. Maybe someday some animators will pop in a new art style using 2D and make 2D popular again.. Who knows.

Vega Music I would say 3D is “immersive” for mostly children. However, 2D is definitely more immersive, fluid, and advanced for everyone, especially for people (specifically artists) who appreciate details and craftsmanship.

Pixar changed the game so handily that they’re the only animation studio on the planet that could bring western 2D animation back. The amount of innovation they achieve on each project-if they really wanted to, they could mix 3D technology and 2D artistry for a feature film and knock the film industry’s socks off. I’m dying to see it.
Pixar started as a technology company first and then got into the story business. I think what they could do for 2D animation is nigh unimaginable. It might not fit their brand identity, but there should be room in the western animation canon for both dimensions in the future. And if anyone has the cajones to change the industry again, it’s Pixar. 2D doesn’t need to die. It needs to evolve. And Pixar has all of the necessary tools to give it that push.
This short has me the most excited about the future of animation than anything I’ve seen this year. Into The Spider-verse was that last year. Animation is the medium that can do anything. That word should mean something-let’s get wild. Let’s see what we can do. Let’s put photorealistic water underneath the Steamboat Willie, let’s go.

I believe it also spreads awareness that Pitbulls can genuinely be the sweetest, goofiest, loving dogs, it’s just the disgusting people that train them to dogfight or the people that abuse them to the point they’re aggressive. A lot of people hate Pitbulls and it’s sad. People have literally labeled them as “killer dogs”, and then stereotype them to be automatically aggressive in any situation.

By far the best one yet! You really outdid yourselves.
I know it's a cartoon, but this is extremely realistic animal behavior.
Been doing animal rescue for 15 years. I've seen a lot of horrible things. We're forced to inoculate ourselves or risk drowning in our own sorrows.
    This made me weep.
    Kudos
Rosana Sullivan, if you ever read this, Thank you for making it.

Just cried thorough the whole video. It makes me so sad to see animals thrown away when all they want is love and protection. And there's this whole thing about pittbulls and black cats. And this has really shown how much they actually do care. I love animals especially those who don't get as much care as they deserve and this has really shed light on a lot of people. Thank you

This is why i love Pixar so much. The people behind every film are individuals, and you can see them all working together behind the scenes, without ever actually seeing them. They all have character, and they are listened to. These shorts are a really good way to let people who want to do something do it. It lets us, the audience, believe that they truly love what they are doing, making us love the outcome even more.

The hand drawn frames gave it so much more life than I've become accustomed to with Disney films as of late. You may be able to zoom in and count the eyelashes but in my opinion nothing beats a beautiful film with individually drawn frames. It's so beautiful and I. Cried. So. Hard. while watching; it really touched me. I hope the animators know how fantastic this was and how thankful I am that they made it!

The story was relevant, the grunge-graffiti like art style was stunning, but I adored the familiar style that found a home in my heart -- such as how the kitten is incredibly reminiscent of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Heartbreaking, heartwarming and wonderful. I loved it the original story and loved seeing the process.
