- Ive had to be real patient. It all didnt happen right away. Even in the midst of the whole gallery art world I thought this was the greatest thing in the world, but there was more.

Known for pioneering a more abstract style of graffiti writing, Futura played a major role in the NYCs graffiti scene of the 70s. As the popularity of graffiti art flared in the 70's and 80's, Futura's work was shown alongside artists such as Basquiat and Keith Haring. As his style developed, he began designing, and has collaborated with numerous artists and companies, including The Clash, Supreme, and A Bathing Ape. Get an inside look at his workspace and his love for b movies, video games and, apparently, all things Sony in the interview from "The Run Up," available to the public for free for the first time, on Walrus TV.
This series was ahead of its time. Been coming back to this for more than 10 years
Damn,,,, Respect, Futura 2000 is and always WILL be a true pioneer and legend who earned his name and rep. so amazing to see hes still around today and still active in graffitti

When i first saw a futura tag it stuck in my mind forever, i never forgot the name and this was probably back in the 70's uptown... such class - keep it up!

Respect to the old school writers,I started back in 83 after style wars and beat street hit the screens back in NZ and I’ve seen the art form change dramatically since then to this mind blowing stuff around today. Only wish we had fat and skinny caps back then😂

Dose anyone remember a dude named CORTEZ, he did Haring type art but it was original, it was all his own. I seen some of his work in Jersey in like 86/87.
