    I'm shocked at how many people don't know the trick of putting clear tape over JB Weld.
    I even use the tape when doing body work. It works on fiberglass, bondo, or almost anything that chemically cures. Just peel off the tape after it hardens. No sags, drips and even shape it to match contours.
    Thanks for the video.

    Instead of JB Weld, use windshield adhesive. It stays flexible and is extremely strong. It will not crack.

      Good luck - ive fixed a few this way that still run fine. Do the fix and run it for 10 minutes on the hose and keep pulling dipstick.. if possible use dark clean used oil - it shows cream real easy. You need to watch my engine flush video to see how I speed flush milky cream from an engine-

      @@SocalMarineUSA I just bought a boat has cream milkshake EVERYWHERE I was told it’s only the head gasket but I suspect the block is cracked at 8am this morning I’m about to inspect the block for cracks. What do you suggest I do besides fixing the crack, replacing the gaskets, swap the spark plugs & change the oil ? Any tips or tricks or proper instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Had the same crack on my 3.0. I used MarineRex grey instead of JB Weld. Still running strong with no leaks 3 years later:-)

    These are not pressurized cooling systems raw water systems dump out riser into exhaust.
    On pressure fresh water cooling systems i used 6011 arc weld rod made for cast steel pipe welding.

    I have my boat engine block with a crack and I did 3 times JB welded and every time the patch come off... always milky oil do you think the block has internal damage?

    • @fstarockaburns425
      @fstarockaburns425 Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, the crack im talking about doesn't mix oil and water. Either head or block is cracked or head gasket bad.

    Hi mate ive got a pin hole size in side of my transit block. 😢 ive cleaned the area and waiting on jb weld extreme temperature putty coming this stuff any good? . Small hole leaking coolant slightly.

    • @fstarockaburns425
      @fstarockaburns425 Před 9 měsíci +2

      yeah that should work just fine! its not very high pressure. Clean it well and spit on your finger to smooth the putty out so it doesnt stick and pull back off. leave overnight and it shd be good. On top of that you can also add a liquid radiator stop leak product - in case a nother one develops it will find it and plug it. Dont use the stuff with fibres or kevlar etc in it, they plug radiators, just use a liquid style one as a back up..

    depends - cream could be froma cracked head, standing in the rain or possibly cracked block. If the block cracked outwards like in this video it will likely be fine after the fix. Watch my flush video here to speed flush the motor asap to get an idea of whats going on. czcams.com/video/fU8a-UbBxvc/video.html

    What if the dip stick isn’t clean

    • @SocalMarineUSA
      @SocalMarineUSA  Před 7 měsíci +2

      remove oil pressure sender on side of block. Install a 1/8 npt ball valve with a CLEAR 3/8 hose. Pour in 2 quarts diesel. Run it (cold) for 2 minutes. Open the valve and run it into a bucket (takes about 10s) - ie use the oil pump to pump the thinned oil out. Refill with 50% diesel and 50% oil - close valve, run motor again for 45s. Open valve and pump it out into bucket. Keep doing this till oil is clean, replace oil filter and keep an eye on oil. I get used oil from parts stores where ppl bring in their old oil, perfect for this kind of thing (just make sure the used oil looks clean). Usually 5 flushes is sufficient. NOW if you have another issue like a blown head gasket - well then the oil will cream again, sometimes slowly sometimes in 5 minutes of running.
