At Mawa Ghar we eat the best fish in Bangladesh! At the Padma Bridge we found a restaurant where we had the best cooked fish so far.
Street food in Bangladesh in a fusion of Asian ingredients where you can find a diverse and sometimes spicy variety of fish. Fish is cooked in many forms, as stew, grilled, served with plenty of rice and thin bread like naan and roti.
We are in Bangladesh to explore the Bangladesh culture, Bengali food, blend with the Bangladesh people and see how life is in the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh has welcomed us for the past 1.5 months and we are in love with this colorful country!

Hilsha is definitely the best and is our national fish. However, the ones you have at restaurants can never be compared to the home-made ones IMO. Hope you enjoyed that though!

Begoon is brinjal in Indian English,aubergine in British English n eggplant in american English!Long-sliced eggplant dipped in besan(English word accepted from india)/gram flour batter n fried in oil with crispy feature,is called begooni/eggplant fritter(s)!The one u ate is begoon-vazi as told, fried in oil to give it a boiled soft texture! One more is begoon-vorta or mashed-eggplant!

So to say that this or that is the tastiest food in the world - is a totally meaningless statement. There is no such thing as the tastiest fish or meat or fruit or whatever food in the world. The tastiness of a particular food depends entirely on the individual consumer / eater. In short, Bangalis may like Hilsa the most, but people of other countries or cultures may not - just like Bangalis are in love with rice and eat lots of it, yet Michael or many westerners, north indians or people in many parts of the world do not like it very much and prefers not to eat it much!!!
100% correct. We buy fresh Hilsha Fish from Mawa Ghat (same place) and its about 1 hr journey from Dhaka city. Its very tasty. Would invite you in BD to enjoy this Hilsha fish. Thx

Bangladeshi Hilsha fish with Begun, Puishak taste good. Recently I bought a frozen Hilsha here in the USA cost me close to $60 but it does not have the taste like in Bangladesh.
When I go to to Balderdash next time I will travel inshahllah.

You should have gone to the restaurant Shehwar & Maria went as shown in their vlog, because the food in the restaurant they went to had so much more varieties of seafood like crabs, squids, Bengali tiger prawns which Mike would have loved. That's the exact same restaurant I went to last December! Kinda shocked actually.
Gigi, the fact that you thought the fishball too flavorful because you are supposed to eat that fish bhorda with a bit more rice. you are supposed to eat it with rice by small portion where Michale ate it at once with very little rice. That's why it felt quite flavorful. And guys, as you already lived quite some time in BD, we would love to watch you eat using hands.

Taste wise Hilsa fish from Padma River in Chandpur is the best. Noticeable features are dark in color as compared to other Hilsa fishes and also smaller heads compared to other Hilsa fishes.
