You Don't Understand How HARD This Is - WR Runs on Deep Dip
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 7. 09. 2024
- INSANE! This is the newest and hardest edition of the tower map genre called Deep Dip.
An intense adrenalin rush of a map, almost no one can finish it, so we can just sit here and watch the pros do it for us. But they make it look sooo easy, every single jump on this track is easily failed.

Also props to Bren who was the first to finish and set the path for the others to follow đ€đ»
And the only reason he isnât still in the top 3 is because he is taking a break and was going for insane runs with way more skips straight after instead of going for a gradual improvement by adding in a few skips at a time
The way he played it was so much smoother than Wirtual.
Bren himself said he was following the strats others had figured out for the first over-half of the tower. No one person set the path for others to follow, it was really a cooperative event! đ an absolute blast to follow all the streamers climbing!
Hes the tower goat tbh
"That must have sent his pulse to a personal best" is such a great line
I don't know what is more impressive, that spammiej did it without any falls (I think) or that wirtual and Lars were so close even though they had multiple huge setbacks.
Spammiej had one small fail, not necessarily a fall, but forced him to backtrack to the beginning of a trick (early in floor 13). Donât think he had any other major time losses
I still can't respect Spammiej's time and completion. That dude straight ip pussied out training later parts of the map with checkpoints before even finishing once. Defeats the purpose of the map completely.
@@beargrylls6135in term of WR, he didnât nothing wrong since WR holder is the one with high skill and practice. Also, a lots ppl wont play it unless having cp at each floor since itâs unnecessary to make it this hard. Playing segmented is way more easier but compete for full run is insane
@@beargrylls6135 idk, that seems like a reasonable strat to me, especially since they didnât really try to ban it for the competition. you still have to do all of it in a row for a good run/clear on the actual map
work smarter, not harder
@@TheOneWhoHasABadName I understand but IMO this map was made to experience the frustration and immense pressure of learning the jumps with huge pressure of failing. I would agree if this was some other trial map. But for wr hunting that is the best strat, which I agree on.
8:46 this shot is so cool seeing all three players
Agree. It was such a smooth transition between the players.
insanity
Great indeed, very smooth and refined :D
8:40-9:00 that transition was so smooth.
By the time they set these records, they had done the first half floors hundreds of times, the top floors however they hardly ever reached. I've watched a few runs and these guys make it look way easier than it is.
Hundreds of falls, tears of joy and relief when finally finished and then going for speed.
There are now checkpointed runs, of which spammie said that the one checkpoint per floor is probably the best.
About 2 hours in and I still get stuck on the end of floor 1
I'm surprised how fast a pace Wirtual went up at. Despite multiple falls and over a minute stuck, he still was only a couple minutes behind a very consistent Spammie
29:00 lmaoo nice one flink
its been quite a while since I watched a video of yours but I'm so suprised you are so underrated. The quality is next-level, keep it up man
oh thanks!
Really incredible. Ive fear of heights in real life, and this was the first map in TM to generate that same feeling, because it also triggers the fear of consequences when messing up. Such a cool project and insane runs by top 3
27:50 gave me a heart attack
same dude, i almost shit myself
This video was very well made. It easily could have been a showing of just Spammiejs run but having a 3 way race of the top 3 times made it so much more interesting and showed some of the risk vs rewards of the map. Will be cool to see the improvements in the future!
I agree, that was a fun way to present it, and with fewer distractions from the constant talking and screen overlays. I also liked the music more than other channels :)
"sent his pulse to a new PB" That was some truly poetic trackmania expression.
Nice commenting man! Im glad this game is what it is thanks to avid players and creators!
Love the use of the traditional Trackmania soundtrack.
Yeah, it triggers so well the nostalgic vibes!
(1:07, 1:24, 3:25, 3:53)
8:47 that custom cam was an extremely satisfying thing to watch
My toxic trait is that i believe that i can finish this map within 100 hours without any trackmania experience at all
Amazing production, Flink!!! Love your videosâ„
Great Video! I was at the edge of my seat, even though i already knew the results. Huge respect to everyone able to finish this map!
A couple weeks ago, a guy put out a TAS run of Deep Dip that finished in 16:13.35. It was pretty wild to watch it do some pretty risky jumps and skips. He said it wasn't fully optimized, so a sub 16 minute time should be possible, and maybe even sub 15.
sick vid! i like the custom camera angels.
Those cameramen really are angels!
@@tryz0r Don't forget the people flying up there with measuring tape to figure out the height of the players
Honestly such a great video. Perfect commentary at the right times, awesome camera work... couldn't ask for more.
Wirtual is so memed (by others and himself) that we often forget how good he actually is, impressive run.
hes really good, just the keyboard + cam1 makes his gameplay look bad imo
He was mutliple record times holder in TMNF which is easily makes him one of the best trackmania players of all time
This map fascinates me so much. I watched most of Wirtual's streams on it and while I would have no hope of finishing the map myself, it's made me really interested in making my own smaller-scale tower maps like it.
there's now a tas of it as well
Great Summary of the best drivers on this map, was fun to watch.
Will you do something like a weekly coverage of TMGL / TMCL / TMWT. Would be great to have some more information on results of that. Sportschau for Trackmania. :)
Wirtual is a pro at this game and he can't deny that! đ„
Only getting to see this now. Fantastic comparison video.
You are getting really good with the cinematography!
Such a great video! Makes it so exciting! Love the soundtrack of other Trackmania games on top of it. And yeah - the Maniaplanet menu theme in the end really gets your heart pumping, together with the footage of those scary situations :D
Flinko guy with another great video. But wouldn't have happen if not for those 3 amazing players, and dozen of incredible mappers. Love this community!
Guut focus with the video, Flink guy! Very nice camera shifts as well. Thanks for putting in the effort! đ
These types of videos are AMAZING. Thank you, I watch part of Wirtual's stream, but this final run comparisons are great.
love the editing and music! It shows how much time you put into it. Keep it up!
Genau das ist was ich an Trackmania so Liebe - Geile Maps, Geilöe Fahrer und noch bessere Videos
Never watched wirtual at the beginning when he was first for a long time, then switched to him when he was behind lars with "let's see if he can keep up".
That music gives me so hard nostalgia
Wow! An amazing cut you did there. So intense! Good Job.
I always watch videos at 2x speed (sometimes 2.5x with a plugin), but I had to slow it down to 1x and watch it normally to jam out to that TMN soundtrack song :D
:D
I also enjoyed TMÂČ soundtrack 26:34
Itâs just nuts how it took people 50+ hours to finish the track the first time, and now the record is down to half an hour.
I know the actual track record time wasnât 50+ hours when it was first completed, I think Bren was 47 minutes and Wirtual was 42 minutes, I just mean that it took people that long to actually first finish it and now people are doing it in one solid run in half an hour. But then again I guess when you have 50+ hours on a map you learn each part extremely well and so each part becomes easier and easier as you actually know what to do and how to set up each thing so itâs not TOO surprising.
That noot horn from Spam jumpscared me.
Seriously can't wait to see a world record progression video for this map in a couple years once people find a way to break it entirely
Great video as usual, was amazing to follow people trying to achieve this!
Perfect camera transitions and Perfect Video!
Very nice editing and commentary as usual.
One bit of advice though - if you remember to compute shadows on high quality, all the lighting and colors will look better (trees look black and textures look flat without it).
thanks, will do next time! i'm bad at these video quality things :D
@@FlinkTM No problemo. Another little trick you can do to get better quality on YT is to render videos in 1440p (even when your footage is 1080p). It will force YT to use a better codec, so the image will look much cleaner even if the viewer chooses 1080p. đ
@@thecatdaddy1981 i'll try that too! although on a map like this it would take rendering time from the arleady 20 hours to 30 D: but what's a measly extra 10 hours haha
@@FlinkTM You mean from computing the shadows, right? Because what I meant is you can render the replays from the editor at 1080p, but then in your video editing software export the video at 1440p, so that YT doesn't degrade the image quality as much. It shouldn't affect render times there too much. You can even keep the same bitrate so the file size stays the same, in case your upload speed is slow.
@@thecatdaddy1981 ah ok, misunderstood that. Interesting!
This map here is why we need TAS for TM2020
Completing this map (witout cps) is in itself a achievement
Can't wait for Bren to come back to this and obliterate the WR
Insanely good video đđ
That's some "getting over it" shit.
Die alte TM Musik ist und bleibt die beste, change my mind
Hey! Great video! Something tells me this is not the end of the map. Would you mind sharing how you render these? Antialias is at 49x or 100x+? Sharpen on? What reflections are you using? My rendering is taking way too long even for 45 second tracks and I got a pretty good GPU/processor.
I use only car reflections and 9x rendering. It took 20 hours already with that :D CZcams compresses quite heavily anyways. So if you don't do 4K i think over 9x is a waste
Hey Flink,
Great video. Enjoyed it to the end and I'm glad you're back!
I would love to know the name of the song at 28:24 with the guitar solo, could you please tell us?
I watched Spam's video on this so I know he was first at some point. it's mainly just about whether someone got it back afterwards :P
Edit: Two people appear to be risking it a lot more and getting punished for it. One man just drives a clean run and gets rewarded.
Absolutely love the video, but one question remains open... what is the theoretical perfect time a human can achive?
i didnt know shorty made the cube
what a beast
its kinda like finishing a world of wampus map in one attempt, with CP's to practice the map would be way easier i think
Good job
great custom cams flink!
Now this is an exciting videi
You mentioned people had worked out times for no fails and such at 1:38 and that you'd touch on it at the end but you never did. I'm genuinely curious and was keen to find that number out after seeing the full runs :P
31:38
Someone made a segmented speedrun from the individual floor maps of around 16mins flat.
insane track
28:55 "AND SPAM TURTLE, WILL THIS BE IT OR CAN HE RECOVER ?!?"
Yes, he will recover. Because we know that you show the top 3 finishes, so we know that he will save it and continue
Otherwise, good edit !
damn you're too smart :D
@Quentin D youâre hypercritical and annoying
@@FlinkTM The pulse to personal best line was geat xdd

who finished the map first tho?
aaaaaaah why no calculated shadows?
I notice this too xd
huh? Edit: ahh damn will try to add next time, thanks for explaining @thecatdaddy1981
A TAS of this map would be cool.
Has nothing to do with wr, it's just completing it at all, wr would be fastest time.
Is anyone going for fastest time deep dip?
These are the fastest times, no idea what you're talking about
This map made me uninstall the game :/
tho spammie has the record, wirtual and lars run are more respectable as they didnt practice floored tower and cuts. wirt also finished it much much earlier.
This is Wirtual's second finish. He practiced for that run. Only Lars did his run without floor practice.
since when are cuts not respectable?
@@prismaticc_abyss they are, but its easier to finish when you practice floored runs like spam did.
bren is actually real g since he was the first one to finish it
You are taking this whole thing way too serious, it's not a matter who has the record or who practiced what. It's about finishing the map, everyone who finished has done the job of reaching the top in their own way. Stop belittling one over the other just because you are a bigger fan of a specific player.
BOMBERMANTHREE here and I play this game and it's insanely difficult but alot of fun, this track looks almost impossible and slow lol đđ, and nope this is one track I'm not even gonna think of trying because it'll be verry frustrating and time consuming with no check points, ( though all who play this know that check points don't always work depending on how you crashed and will just fling you back into the same crash over and over again till you smash the give up button đ€Łđđ€Ł) naa I'll let those who are crazy enough give it a shot and prolly end up breaking there controlers while I continue to enjoy the high speed racing and get better all the time, even the best drivers in the world have a really hard time on some of this games tracks and most best players won't get this one any time soon I can see đ€Łđ, that said track mainia is the game I've been looking for all my life đ€©... AND ITS FREE đ
Wirtual was going for crazy skips and you did not even mention it.
