I'd be careful, here in the UK doing this is a simple way for thefts to steal a car. 1. You get out to give help they "need" 2. Someone else somewhere watching runs for the drivers seat and drives off. I'd be careful Darren, it's really good of you to help but please be mindful.
Same here in my country. Just rather call the cops and give the location of where you saw the person laying down. Don’t stop... and don’t even park close to the area down the road in a ‘safe spot’ in case other thugs / the gang are hiding away near by the surrounding areas.

In my country car thiefs usually gun the driver down. If they have children, they usually leave them miles away from where the car was stolen or take them.

Been on the other side of this scenario a couple times so this was pretty interesting to watch
everybody, please be cautious when you see people lying on the road like this, you dont know what their up to. i was driving with my older sister on a quiet road surrounded by a forest in the late evening. i dont remember why. we stopped and were shocked to see a middle aged man lying in the middle of the road with a pool of blood around his body and head. we stopped and quietly looked to see if he was okay, and we decided to just stay in the car and call and ambulance or something. we were to afraid so we looked away. before we knew it the man jumped up quickly and started banging on the door and windows trying to get in. it appeared to us that he had a weapon in hand. we froze and started screaming. we drove away quickly and called the police. the man was never found. fortunately, we remembered to lock the doors.
Glad you and your sister are okay. Crazy stuff.

I've woken up many people like that on the street. Just intensively drunk. Quite often I get as far as calling non-immediate emergency version of 911(it's finnish thing, don't know how it translates(it's also 112 here, but 911 is more universal)), when the call goes through and I begin speaking back, they get up like a lightning. I used to use 911, but I learned quickly that it just wastes everyone's time.
