I'm a Barca fan but I must admit about what I love about Madrid is their mentality and composure when things aren't going their way in a game. After Bayern scored the second and piled pressure on Madrid they never switch off but kept their shape and be in the game. The second leg would be really entertaining cuz it's nicely poised.

Vasquez made Musiala look a lot better than he actually was. If that was Carvajal, it would've been a different story today.
Our focus was lacking this game. Bellingham and Rodrygo were off.
This match also exposed the lack of offensive capabilities from Mendy. His backpasses pissed me off so much.
I'm not very confident for the return game, tbh. This Ancelotti team is very unpredictable, especially when we're "favorites". This team can pull off world class unstoppable games or absolute garbage performances for no reason.

I'm surprised that almost nobody talks about Konrad Laimer. He had an outstanding game and prevented a lot of Reals counter attacks from being played out. Hadn't he played that well I think Kims weakness would have been exploited to much greater extend. At this stage of the tournament almost no opponent allows you to create that many chances so you have be really clinical and make the most out of the few you get. And that's what both teams did yesterday.
Actually, Bayern's shots on target (5/14) = 35.7%, while Real Madrid had (4/10) = 40%. Which makes us slightly more accurate. Secondly, Bayern missed 2 big chances, while Real missed one. Both stats show Bayern were not as good in finishing, which Thierry Henry pointed out. Having said that, yes, I agree the position of Rodrygo and Jude was not as good. I guess Don Carlo tried a reverse diamond ala arrow tip with Vini at the tip. Lesson learned which I'm sure they will rectify in the 2nd leg.

But those who didn't, see the result as good and advantageous for us all the same.
Our lineup is confirmation that even Ancelotti didn't underestimate them, being at their home ground.
That's why those first 20 minutes were the way they were coz we sat back and let them have the ball.
Probably Ancelotti knew that one aim they had was to get a quick goal/s early in the match, so we were trying to defend that.
In the return leg, our setup will be different am sure.
Carvajal was missed on this game...but never the less..it was great fair result for both teams. Now we can take it home and finish Bayern.

I believe this was a good result away from home for us. I believe our team will get the job done at home because Carva will be back and Carlo will start Tchoumeni CB and start Cama. Mendy definitely still not 100% of the back of them City games but Madrid will get it done.

The game was equal for me though we lacked our usual quality. Mendy has always been poor ,they just love him for height and strength, otherwise he's not up there . modric is always good coz he changes the tempo of the game n his passes always gives opponents a problem.

My problem with Carlo he runs out of ideas when change of game approach is needed. For me Madrid would have won the game,too much back passes instead of penatrating passes. Players looked tired or not much interested in winning

3 things: Lunin has to position himself better. You can’t get beat at the near post like that. There is a reason why this is Sane’s first goal since October. Can you believe that? He hasn’t scored in 6 months. Lunin should position himself well when they drag out players cuz he could’ve avoided that goal. Also how can’t we defend corners? Every corner they had I was sweating in my pants. We have tall players like Rudiger, Bellingham, Tchouameni but can’t defend corners. This is crazy and outrageous. Also the next game I would like to see Modric play as the 10 and Bellingham on the bench. He’s not playing well against top opposition who can mark him and that is because he’s lost some energy and isn’t moving around. He’s always staying at one place most of the time. Modric came on and we were attacking with a high tempo. That’s all I’ll say.

Don't underestimate openent. Every game is different. Considering madrid is still in transition initio without a striker bayern has more experience on the pitch to madrids attack.
@@jakefelix505 Overall we should have done better. This Bayern team is probably the worst in their last 5 years if not more. We were 1 goal up and should have punished them and hurt them. But again I see no patern of play or tactical changes. Individual brilliance is always saving Anchelotti. We need to be more proactive and not always reactive.
Tuchel is a good coach. The weakness of Bayern is the centre backs(Upamecano, De Ligt, Kim, Dier)

Losing easy matches, getting kicked out of the DFB tournament to a 3-tier club, etc. Last season they weren't good as well, sacking Nagelsmann and almost losing the league to Dortmund. So comparing this season to their last in terms of stats is kind of useless, when last season Bayern was also mediocre. A team can have great players on paper but still be playing badly on the field, which Bayern has done all season. Just look at the Madrid 2018-29 season. This team was stacked with talent and experienced players, but we didn't play well. Sure, this season we don't have a "real" striker, but players have stepped up and shown we can still play well, much better than Bayern has all season, but yesterday we didn't show that. 2-2 i an acceptable result, but we should have been better
Bayern are not a good team, for me Barca are a more challenging opponent than Bayern, however, just like Madrid, they have that X factor, they can score at any time under any circumstance. The next game is going to be 50/50 in my opinion.

Very dissatisfied with the performance. We cant keep on playing on the backfoot all the time. Glad they didnt capitalise on their dominance in the first half. We would have been 2-0 nil down if they took their chances.
Its like we only know how to play when we dont have the ball. We need to do better with our ball possession. Except Kroos very few people actually looked threatening. No creativity. Very slow movement. Vazquez was horrendous today. Musiala looked like Mbappe gliding past him without any effort. And offensively he offered nothing. We need better RB backup for Carvajal.

No, the Sane goal was Lunin’s fault. I do not blame Mendy. The goal was a powerful goal and i do not blame Lunin for not making the save but before the goal, Lunin had the ball and there was enough space to pass the ball to Mendy but Lunin chose to pull the ball which lead to the goal. Also, there was a Bayern player shadowing Sane and Mendy had to adjust just incase Sane passes the ball. Kroos was not in his position hence Sane’s goal.

Check out how Valverde is always at the right side to help Carvajal/ Lucas. Kroos was doing it but at that moment, it was just Mendy. I still blame Lunin though cuz he made the wrong choice by pulling the ball instead of passing the ball.
