    I had never heard of Blue Peter & had to Google it - a can’t get enough of your British accent & expressions!     I am so glad you did the poppy heads. I had been seeing them come out of the kiln and admiring their voluptuous shapes and sizes. Perfect for the garden! I really enjoyed this!

    Excellent tutorial! Just a few days ago I was re-watching one of your kiln openings with a poppy seed head, and thought how wonderful it would be to see your process. And like magic, here it is!!     Thank you so much for this extremely informative video. I have been on a part time portfolio course and have really loved the ceramic workshops - I am doing some ceramic pieces for my final project. Watching videos like yours has been so useful and inspiring and I really appreciate the time and effort that it must take to make one. Once I’ve finished my course (only a few weeks now) I am going to have a go at making these. I am sure that most of my friends (and me!) would love one in their garden! (I’m UK Midlands).

      Thank you for the in-depth tutorial. I have made poppy seed heads before for my garden, using pinch pots. I love how you made the top using petals and a heart cutter to shape the top. I would never have thought of that. X

Last worked with clay in 2002 but have been presented with an opportunity to participate in a new studio in my very small town.     New to your channel, was searching for celadon glazes and here I am..loved opening kiln videos and popy seed heads are just amazing
    I am in south of France 🇫🇷 moved from canada 2years ago and was happy to find a clay association in the community where I am settled

      @@thepotterycorner Hi Sarah, I am up to putting the ribs on the poppy seed. I dont have an extractor so will cut the ribs by hand. Could you pls tell me the measurements of your square cutter. I have tried cutting a couple of sizes but they either look too small or too big😂 thx Lorraine

      @@lorrainetroughton4778 hi Lorraine - if you are hand making the spines you could use a small coil. My square extrude is about 1cm (10mm) across but you could vary the size according to your poppy head size. As you say, they look odd with spines too large (or indeed too small!). Glad you're joining those who are making- do email me a picture! Hope that helps 🙏

    Great tutorial, I always love when you have some of these in your kiln unloadings. I have previously made a similar seed type pod from coils ( they look lovely of course :) but I absolutely love your version so I'm definitely going to make a set following your method ... thank you for sharing much appreciated :)

I think you looked very ‘slick’ today: you kept to the point and, though you spoke all the time, you didn’t waste words- every word was worthwhile. I’m a teacher so I appreciate the skill involved in focused direction. Keep going- your following is going to rocket soon. I’m going to check your site for residential courses...am in Lancashire...think you should do a deal with a local hotel/pub and do a weeklong course- I’d come!😊
