Explanations :
1 Moscow is still the best city to my mind, highest and the most sophisticate and has more than 200 skyscrapers, the cluster is not the biggest but all the towers around the Moskva-City make a really pleasing view. The combination with stalinian buildings is not good as Warsaw but still interesting.
2 London has improved a lot, Canary Whaf, the City, and others clutsters, make with historical monuments and the River Thames a fantastic panorama. The high is pretty good and the architecture is really modern.
3 Paris La défense, the biggest cluster in Europe with a great placement of towers along the historical Axe, nevertheless suffers a lack of high projects and some building looks too old. Maybe the JO 2024 and the Brexit should give La Défense a new lease of life.

Tirana and Yerevan also have skylines
You should've specified that this video is about modern European skylines, cause those old towns can have a pretty neat skyline as well.
Rihards Borskis well yes and no. A skyline is pretty much regarded as a skyscraper skyline although there is no definite description, the older cities and even modern low rise cities have a skyline obviously but it’s pretty much accepted than when referring to a ‘skyline’ it’s a given that it’s a skyscraper skyline.....👌🏻
@@chrispaw1 Well, when the video said "Riga", I pictured this: i.pinimg.com/564x/30/f0/42/30f04242a1764e2d5f7173709a84f807.jpg
I was surprised to see the pictures used in the video, especially the first 2 that are taken from very unusual angles as those are neither what one would see on a postcard or on their daily commute going about their life. Riga is one of those European cities that one wouldn't think of in reference to modern skylines because they are very spread out throughout the city instead of being clustered around a specific location.
@@princeseroze Yeah that's true and I understand your disappointment, I love old architecture but this is not the topic. Yet, you should have been ready to see Riga skyscraper skyline because all the cities before Riga don't really show bell towers. And for an European city I found Riga very good even if indeed it miss the cluster aspect that have Vilnius or Talinn.

Cheers for entering Antwerp in the rankings, didn't expect that!
So, one of my biggest project is done, I hope you will enjoy it. I repeat, it's important to say that this ranking is subjective, it's useless to say that a city with more skyscrapers than an other is certainly above a city with less skyscrapers, well I don't claim this ranking to be true, share your list on the comment section below. Personally, the main item is to have a good looking cluster and skyline. Not necessarily high skyscrapers spread in the city, but it could be different for each person.
For instance, I have the impression that Vilnius skyline is more impressive than st Petersburg despite of the number and size of towers.
There are some mistakes in the video Odeon tower in Monaco, is 170 m and Beetham tower in Manchester is 168 m high. At 17:40 Liverpool has projects buildings

UPDATE MAY 2020: SERBIA 150-200m :2. West65 tower (155m) and Belgrade tower (168m)
Gothenburg has changed a lot with the new 245m tall Karlatornet, 144m tall Citygate and many others. Regarding the Turkish cities only Istanbul has a part in Europe. Also Georgia only has a small part in Europe. But very good video, really great angles of skylines!

london is starting to look really cool.
Its totally ruined
In Serbia (Belgrade) there are 4 towers taller than 100 meters under construction and 2 out of them are taller than 150m!
i notice Living in Oslo the highrise is just increasing year by year
In 13 November 2019 are 5skyscrapers in construction in Milan
Can you make a viedeo of the skyscrapers that should built in Berlin, pls🙂. That would be cool. Thanks
A top about Germany is planned, it will be after Italy (National Top are going to be more precise)

-three 130 meter highrise buildings
-three 120 meter highrise buildings

-one 130 meter highrise building at the Alexanderplatz, start of constructin (unknown) planed end of construction 2023, and there 4 other highrise buildings they wan´t to built at the Alexanderplatz, 130 meter

Wow , So I should wait a bit
@@EuropaSkyline Yeah, that is true.
I think Frankfurt has the best looking skyline from far away
Wait until the project "Four Frankfurt" is finished. It includes a 233m, 173m, 120m and a 100m building😍 it will be even better!!
Look at China if you like impressive skylines. Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Qingdao. These are high quality skylines.
And Rotterdam
I think Moscau
Yes I agree!
Dublin will be a force to be met with in coming years. Four 20-25 story towers planned and two 40 plus story towers with a few more also being looked at. Dublin is going to rise very fast due to demand for office and housing
Regarding housing...
Are there any plans to use somehow those unfinished ghost towns and single building left after 2008 crisis? I only hope the story won't repeat again with developers building too much for credit... I really love Dublin as it was my second home for 7 years so I wish for the best. I heard from my friends that rental prices are super high currently...
@@bartoszjankowiak3157 don't worry it's a different situation this time. All our ghost buildings and houses are now finished and used. Theres a SEVERE shortage of housing and office space now in Dublin and all of ireland. The crash in 2008 was caused by a HUGE over supply of both.
Ireland has the fastest growing population in Europe and as a world hub for business so we need apartments, houses and offices.
Dublin has changed a lot in the past few years.
There was very little construction between 2010 and 2016. In that time the population grew 200,000 and businesses boomed so we need to build now and skyscrapers are being planned as part of the solution. We have gotten rid of all the ghost buildings in our cities as they re finished and used now.
The rents are high as there is very little housing and apartments available as well as office space. So it's entirely different to the 2000s when we had wayyyy too much.
@@shanehughes3511 thanks for reply! I am really glad to hear that and I hope they will get the housing problem fixed.
My colleague has been offered recently a good job in Dublin but he refused it because of the high rental costs which would take most of his salary.
I have checked Daft just few days ago and I was shocked to see that apt for which I paid in 2010 €1.4-1.6k, now costs €2.5-2.6k 😳😱
For that price you can get a very decent 90+ sqm with 3 bedrooms in Zurich area where I live currently. I pay CHF 2100 for such apartment just 10km outside Zurich in a very nice town, with lake view. Ah, and that's including garage...
So the effect of the insufficient amount of living space affects also job market as professionals will not come to Dublin if they have to spend fo much money on rentals.
I really keep my fingers crossed for Dublin and Ireland in general.
All the best! 😉
@@bartoszjankowiak3157 no problem. I hope your friend can move here in the future.
The ironic thing is foreign professionals are still moving here in the thousands per year and its gotten to be a problem and major It companies buy up hundreds of apartments before they are even finished just for their employees meaning others can't rent them. Return some day if you can!
Same for Milan

New towers Rotterdam next year: Zalmhaventoren 218m , Cooltower 150m, casanova 110m, terraced tower 110m

Why have you included some city observation towers, but not others?
For example Portsmouth spinnaker tower, yet you've excluded Birmingham's BT tower at 152 metres?
Good video, even though i know that some cities on this list have many new towers that haven't been included
Mark Johnson Indeed it is a mistake, I certainly unconsciously made this because I don’t want to present poor statistics for Portsmouth despite a good Skyline (only 2 towers 80-99m). But agreed, not logical because I didn’t include (it was from my willingness) panorama or telecommunications towers for all the others cities.Even if it contributes to the skyline. After, all my datas are from skyscraperpage, and it is possible that not all buildings are updated.

i think you could have chosen better pictures from frankfurt, but nice video
Well I bet you're German
@@nonstopeugene you're right, but just google Frankfurt Skyline and you will find much nicer pictures...
Frankfurt is way more beautiful than in this video. And btw there are so many new projects here with new beautiful skyscrapers. I'm glad to live here

can you do one from another continent?
Yes probably but not immediately a top 100, I am not as experienced for another continent as Europe.
There are so many skylines in Asia and N.America, i m too scared of forgetting important one, so if i make a list it should be for Africa or South America (I don’t underestimate SA the skylines are really good )
and South America....the world doesn't know...Brazil and Argentina are extremely urban/vertical. Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires are way more vertical than any city in Europe.
Eindhoven, Rotterdam and The Hague in the Netherlands will have a enormous growth in the coming years... With Eindhoven alone planning 23 or more new towers all between 80 meters and 210 meters high. 4 being build this year, 1 of 105 m, 2 of 150 meters and one of 170 meters. A 150 meter one next year together with a few others and then a 200+ meter one in the next 2 to 3 years. All because the economy of that region alone is growing 10x faster as the economy of the entire country due to being a frontrunner in technology & design in the world, they are even calling the growth "China like".
London needs to have a 400 metres building ASAP
There’s a limit because of an airport
Betham tower in manchester is 169 meters
Is Manchester in it? Must have missed it.
BELGRADE TOWERS UNDER CONSTRUCTION:BELGRADE TOWER 168m,WEST 65 155m,BELGRADE SKYLINE 137m,UŠĆE TOWER2 105m!

Astana is in ASIA.
Warsaw: Varso Place - 310 m - completed 2022 (Foster and Partners, HRA Architekci, HB Reavis)
some of this is wrong, the Beetham Tower in Manchester is 169m not 128m
Hey hey
Baku Azerbaijan develope so fast, 10 years ago 0 building higher than 100 meters, for now 14th place in Europe.
In few years they gonna build Nakhichevan tower, Port Baku 3, White City Office center(5 buildings)
Lyon in some years will have great skyline, the best by far in France after Paris
Eh oui ! Après j’espère que Marseille et Lille vont suivre la marche aussi
Paris has the most beautiful skyline in the world🥱
Ehhh not really
Tour Odeon in Monaco is 170m and Beetham Tower in Manchester 169m tall. Otherwise fantastic list.
Yes I saw it too late
...Vienna, .. currently 16 new buildings within 104 - 180 m started 2019 under construction...
Berlin..... 15 neue hochhäuser bis 2025..... 80m-210m...........

Sorry but to my mind Bretagne tower is ugly and the sillon is too far from Bretagne tower to make a good skyline. Personally it can’t be ranked, even Rennes or Mulhouse could be better
@@EuropaSkyline Oh so it's wasn't just by number/size of towers?
But yeah Bretagne tower isn't pretty.

Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey are Asian countries.. Well, tecnically Turkey is transcontinental with the Bosporus Strait deviding the Continents.. So Istanbul can be considered both European and Asien, but the other Turkish cities are Asian, as well as Astana, Baku and Tbilisi..
Most people devide the Continent by the Urals and Caucasus..

Could you please tell us the order of classification? Because in order to number of skylines, wasn't Istanbul supposed to be the second? In addition to this, thanks for your hard work, it was amazing 💪😊
Thanks for this support My order is subjective and a skyline top can't be objective, Having said that I tried to be more objective as possible, i use criteria as The heigth and numbers of towers (specified on the video) , the architecture, and the placement (urbanism), so its subjective .
Now for Istanbul I understand that many people find this city is one of the best clearly. Istanbul is really complete with outnumbers towers and tall skyscrapers but to my mind there's no a cluster aspect, towers are spread in the city and don't form a real Center, finally even if it is really impressive it is not so iconic (but i repeat its personal).
If I rate by numbers of towers it becomes a data ranking and the title would have been "european cities with the most of towers" , for me skylines are not only this. My video has not for objective to show my order is true, it is firstly a way to watch and discover skylines and towers of Europe. I hope you will understand and thanks again for the compliment
@@EuropaSkyline istanbul atleast looks better to me than frankfurt.
Idk why.. Frankfurt is so tiny
OfficialCentrificProductions Germany For me London and Moscow are really above in terms of height, cluster, and numbers of towers. For Istanbul, Paris and Frankfurt , which ones has a default, Istanbul for the cluster and the general aspect, Frankfurt for the number of tower and Paris for the height. Maybe the fact that in Istanbul towers are spread and didn’t form an iconic cluster like Moskva city, La Défense of the city is less important that the numbers of towers in Frankfurt. Honestly it’s my personal point of view it is subjective.
@@EuropaSkyline Lol Istanbuls skyline is the literal definition of "SKY-LINE" as in lined up.
But I heard that istanbul currently builds a central office area and maybe in future they'll also make a real centra point for the skyline.
OfficialCentrificProductions Germany you re certainly right there is no better SKY-LINE than Istanbul but we cannot overlook density and cluster that make a skyline iconic
Birmingham actually has 5 that are 80-99 has 3 100-149 and has 1 150-199.
With a total of 15 more 80m+ in the pipeline.
Plus 2 more that under construction
Thats not i noticed on birmingham skyscraperpage (skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?) , and buildings under construction are not referenced because of their low progress.
But thanks for this input
Milano ❤
Lore Zn salve ahaha anche io sono di Milano
Kyiv looks amazing!
yeah and a lot of towers I could place Kiev higher in the ranking, but i didn't find great pictures
I think Gdańsk should be higher in list, it has a lot more high buildings
Are there new projects finished since 2019 or do you consider the 2019 skyline ? Im interested about it
