  • Emulsifying body scrub has a lotion base which means it's more moisturizing for your skin and doesn't leave an oily feel after rinsing. This is a great way to exfoliate and it leaves your skin feeling so soft and oil residue free!
    You can use the range of percentages below to formulate your own body scrub. Feel free to use all or some of these ingredients to make your scrub. The important ones that should be included are underlined.
    Formulating a Sugar Scrub:
    Sugar - from 50% - 65%
    Oils - from 15% - 25%
    Butters - from 5% - 15%
    Emulsifying wax - 3% - 5% (depending on usage rate of your particular emulsifier)
    Stearic acid - up to 3%
    Cetyl Alcohol - up 2%
    Preservative - refer usage rate of the preservative you're using
    Fragrance - up to 2%
    Colorants - less than 1%

    Hi may I ask what emulsifying wax you’re using? This is basically how I make my salt scrubs and they leave a slippery feel on the skin but I’m using btms 25 bc I can cross use it with other products, but maybe that’s why it’s so slippery? Trying to rectify this a bit.

      The emulsifying wax keeps it from melting too quickly and it does harden up more as it sits. Although, I have not mailed it out during warmer months so I'm not sure how it would perform during shipping.

      You may need to increase your amount of liquid oil. Body scrubs do tend to stiffen up as they sit and the sugar absorbs more of the liquid.

      @bettybrendabathproducts4747  Před rokem

      I give percentages so you can tweak it to your exact amount. That way you don't have to make the amount I make. If you make recipes in ounces, you can multiply the percent times the amount you want to make and it will give you the exact amount. So if you want to make a total of 32 ounces, you'd multiply the percent of the ingredient times 32%.
