- This is an interview with Eric Harland ( drummer for Dave Holland, Kurt Rosenwinkel and many more ). He was kind enough to take some time from his busy schedule and come to the studio to play and answer some of our questions.

Great stuff! Eric Harland is so musically interesting as a drummer. He is so creative and musical and fresh, yet not so "out there" that you can't make sense of it. Very inspiring! Love his attitude and approach. Super idea about listening to vocal patterns in spoken word recordings! A good example of his creativity. It's creative but in a way that remains accessible and musically interesting for the listener. Thank you!
Fantastic video - Eric Harland is one of the most inspiring modern drummers. I love his style of playing, he has monstrous technique, but his playing is still so beautifully musical. I could probably listen to this guy playing an open solo for a whole day and not get bored

The main one is Yamaha maple custom absolute nouveau 14x5,5 ( just like the kit in this video ) and the other one is a Ludwig Black Beauty hammered 14x6,5

Chris daddy dave also uses this multi snare set up to great effect . It adds more voices and versatility to the set up and ultimately the music.

Wish you would one day upload the solo by itself. I've seen this video many times, but i'm tired of skipping over the talking.
What are these snare? One is a maple custom definitive (or original) 14x5,5, and one on the right looks like a brass snare (seems to be a Yamaha snare so maybe the Manu Katche?)...
