    REAL GROB TUTOR START UP! Jump into the cockpit with me for a realistic run through of current (2021) Tutor T1 startup, taxi, landing and shutdown procedures. I was previously qualified on type but it has been a while. I do get airborne, albeit for a bit of a refresher! I hope it's useful to anyone with, or considering getting, this amazing addon!

    The IRIS Tutor is one of the most underrated addons for MSFS. It flies so magnificently. It's one of the rare addons in MSFS that truly feels like flying.

    I was halfway through EFT when the Tutor was introduced. It wanted to fly so much compared to the Bulldog. First glide circuit I ended up pointing down the runway at 1000ft having turned waaaay too early! Fun to land on that springy gear in a crosswind - you don't want to be fast else you'll just bounce sideways! Thanks for the memories!

    Currently doing UAS flying, and its unfortunate to see the shortcomings of this module, but a really good aircraft to fly around. Would be interested if this gets more developed as time goes on, adding TAS & FLARM, working GPS, updated textures and sounds, and an EHSI for instance.

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  Před 2 lety +2

      Good question! I had a little google and this seems like a good answer: Most airplanes have an impulse coupling on the left mag only. During engine start, the ignition key grounds out the right mag, so only the left mag provides spark. The timing of the spark from the left mag is retarded (later than usual) during engine start so the engine will start easier.

      I’ve got the Rift S as it was a reasonable price. If I were to buy another, I’d be tempted by the Quest 2 as I hear you can link it to PC as well as being standalone. The other options are a tad expensive and would likely max my PC out!

    I flew grobs when I did my special flying award with 727NAS. A quick question, when you do your engine checks (ie 7mins in) do you do those checks on the Hawk? Pull to the side and test the engine? Or is it because its a piston engine you need to check it pre flight?

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  Před 2 lety

      It's a piston thing! The only engine checks required for a jet is at max on the runway.

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  Před rokem

      Interesting. You sure you’re not in pause? Have you got HOTAS and have you checked there’s no conflicting axis assignments. Do you have a similar issue in other variable pitch aircraft? You could try reinstalling.

      @@cgaviatorI'm not in pause, i feel like it maybe the fact that I'm on xbox and using a controller, but then again, when i use any other prop aircraft and start moving levers everything works, so probably just an issue with the aircraft. A bug.

      @jacobprescott396 Před 2 lety +2

      It is... its because its easier to transition from the tutor to a fast jet like the Hawk T1/2, or a helicopter for example. all your throttle and stick controls are where they would be on a fast jet/helicopter.
