Is the Torah for Gentiles, too? | God's requirements for the native born and the sojourner

  • Scripture tells us that the Torah is for gentiles too, it just uses different words. Regardless of the phrasing, the Bible is clear that God’s Law is for everyone who wants to serve him.

When I was a child and asking questions about the Bible, Old Testament, I was told it's for the Jewish people only. Through the years I kept thinking and saying that it's for all of us because Jesus said that we are grafted in. Well into my adult years I found that Yes, it is meant for everyone. These are God's Laws set out to help us obey Him, to make our lives easier, and most importantly, to learn to trust and worship Him as He deserves. Yahweh/Jehovah, our Almighty God, our Father had Moses write down what was important and how we need to live. So obeying the Torah is obeying God. Thankfully He then gave us His Son Christ Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins, and to teach us, show us as an example, how to worship the Father and obey Him in our everyday lives. Hallelujah. Glory to God in all things. 🕊️🕊️🙏🏽🙏🙏🏿🎚️📜⚖️⚔️🛡️🥰⚒️⛓️❤️😃

Amen! So many argue with me saying NO, we are not saved by works. We are no longer under the Law....
Yeshua/Jesus said if you love me KEEP my Commandments. Faith produces works when we believe! Faith without works is DEAD! We know that our entire Salvation is because Yeshua died in our place & took our sins upon Himself. God's Laws, Holy Sabbaths, Feast Days & dietary Laws still stand today! Yeshua said I have come to fulfill the Law NOT to do away with it. 🙏🏼❤️ Shalom

I had a similar experience. I asked my parents why if Yeshuah was our Passover lamb, that we did not keep Passover. They had no answer, but followed the dispensational guidance of the “pastors”. I’ve finally chosen to turn to understand what Yahweh tells His people to do…and it sure sing to follow the pagan ways. Hurts my heart that it took me almost 50 years to have my eye opened.

Why is Solberg so intent on speaking against Hebrew Roots? I don’t understand people who do not believe Gods whole law is good and good for everyone. Gods laws, ordinances, feasts are good for our physical health, spirit, and mental health. Gods law is good for the land and all people in every perfect way. If we choose not to follow some of those ways, we harm ourselves and others (this is what sin does). At the very least we would miss out on great blessings. I cry for Israel because of people like Solberg.

Amen! Amen! Glory to God! Another great teaching! If we say we serve the God of Israel why would we want to serve differently from the way He instructed Israel to serve Him? Something you could have also added is the fact that we are grafted in.....we cannot only get what is convenient to us, we understand that the new convenant is also with gentiles but God say he will make the new convenent with the house of ISRAEL and the house of JUDA. All of us christians know and accept that the new convenant applies to us just because it is convenient. But when it comes to God's Torah we think we can selectively choose what to keep.Additionally we are Abraham' seed by faith as the jews.
Great teaching!!! Let us keep God's Torah for our own good!

  • @wadem4955

One of the best ways I have come to understand application of Torah is this:
In Christ there is neither Jew nor gentile. Gal 3:28, Rom 3:29. Therefore nothing HE said or did is Jewish or gentile it's simply froom GOD.
Not only does this resolve is that for gentiles it also resolve whether or not something is too traditional and additives to Torah.
HE is our example 1 Pet 2:21
We are to imitate HIM 1 Cor 11:1
We are to walk as HE walked 1 Jhn 2:6
I believe in Rom 8:7 Paul wrote the mind set on the flesh cannot please GOD, he was written to those who believe their human bloodlines determine their responsibility to Torah.
Example.... Did Yeshua wear Tzitzit? Yes... or HE would have sinned. That means Tzitzit are neither gentile nor Jewish they are simply HIS peopleish....
May HE bless us all with eyes that see, ears that hear, and hearts that understand.

In Solberg's quest for notoriety, we may find that he has been 'raised up' at such a time to serve the purpose of YAH. He seems to desire to be considered preeminent among 'scholars of theology', but his arguments or 'reasoning' (of sorts) are almost transparently dubious (at best) by his continual dismissal of scriptural evidence contrary to his argument, and usually by the magical 'wave of his hand'.
Most of christian theology is based on the assumed premise that 'torah is dead, not for gentiles, two houses, etc...', all which will be blown or burned away in the last great day, for it is all chaff at best. For me, one of the most troublesome stipulations of Torah for anything other than an Hebraic Biblical Emunah ('faith') is that YAHWEH calls the use of 'diverse, unjust, etc...' weights and measures to be an abomination.
Prov 16:11 A just weight and balance are יהוה's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to יהוה.
20:23 Divers weights are an abomination unto יהוה; and a false balance is not good.
Lev 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am יהוה your Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am יהוה.
Deut 25:13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which יהוה thy Elohim giveth thee.
16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto יהוה thy Elohim.
Ezek 45:9 Thus saith the Sovereign יהוה; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Sovereign יהוה.
10 Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.
Amos 8:4 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,
5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
Micah 6:10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
You are covenanted or you are not, these are the two types of people in the world. As Matt 7:20-23 tells us, even those who do 'great works in His name' can still be counted as unworthy. ALL who work TORAHLESSNESS WILL GO THROUGH THE GREAT TRIBULATION.
Think not that He came to create a 'participation trophy' covenant for the nations, so that you can walk in evil ways (that which is counter to YHWH), no, He made a path that allows us to walk in The Torah without condemnation. For if you have received the Spirit of Truth, you will T'shuvah (be convicted, repent, turn from evil and towards YHWH). This will be the continuous cycle until you die or the First Fruits Resurrection occurs.

I have an honest and sincere question. Its about hand washing. Ive not found a command in Torah that YHWH commands us to wash hands before eating. Most of the Torah believing peoples I know and spend Passover with go to a synagogue that teaches just because its not in Torah that doesnt mean YHWH did not command it. Im having a really hard time with this because YHWH said not to add to or take from His Word. I dont go to that synagogue but it causes seperation for me because they have a sign that states YHWH has commanded us to wash our hands. I try hard to test everything and dont want to just follow men but my greatest desire is to know The One True God and the one He sent. Do you have a teaching on this? I love YAH and I love my neighbor and I apsolutely love those I spend Passover with. I promised YAH I would seek His truth and walk in it as best I could, not according to man but according to His word.

      Thanks for reaching out.
The Father doesn't give us the answer to this but with the long life spans, it would have been possible to build a population pretty quickly and for families to move to other areas so that they could spread out. Think about Noah, there was a large population of people and that was only ~1600 years after creation.
So having said that, Cain could have married someone other than a sister. In addition, it is important to remember that while marrying a sister, etc is a sin, it was a necessary sin in order to build the population. (weightier matter) Much like the Levities committing a necessary sin every Shabbat when they worked in the temple. This was a weightier matter.

    • @karenp.2316
      @karenp.2316 Před rokem +2

Those four commandments relate to the practice of idolatry. Turning from idolatry is the first step in Torah-obedience. The dispute in Acts 15 regarded Gentiles who were in the process of turning to Yahweh (v.19) which was instigated by men from Judea teaching that a person must be circumcised _in the manner of_ the Torah in order to be saved (v. 1).
The Torah requires that infants be circumcised in the 8th day of life (Lev 12:1-3), according to the instructions previously given to Abraham (Gen 17:12 & Gen21:4). Not all of the Hebrew forefathers, including Abraham, were able to keep these specifications (Gen 17:23-26 & Josh 5:2-5). Since the repentant Gentiles were also unable to keep those specifications, James noted that they still had opportunity to learn all the commandments in the Law being taught in the synagogues every Sabbath (Acts 15:21).

One critical correction which is very important to fully understand the Bible prophecy. All of Israel did not become to be known as Jewish . The ten tribes of the house of Israel are never called Jews. The house of Judah or house of David which is the kingdom of Judah of Judea are given the nickname Jews. It was Judah separated from the actual nation Israel which Benjamin and later Levi joined Judah. This event was also the beginning of the promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that they were to be a father of many Nations not just one but many. Genesis 48 clearly tells us that Manasseh and Ephraim were adopted and inherited the right to the name Israel but also they along with Joseph’s future sons were to be called and known as the sons of Abraham and Isaac, they in particular. Like it says it was the beginning of the fulfillment of the promises the the fathers of becoming nations. Genesis 35 God specifically tells Jacob that one of his sons was to become a great nation and another a group or company of nations. Genesis 48 says Manasseh was to become that great nation while Ephraim a company of nations, and it was they who were to possess the gates of their enemies. Genesis 49 Jacob blesses rest of his biological sons and tells them where in the world each was to settle and established themselves as nations. Ephraim was made chief, he became the first born. Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim came to inherit the birthright blessing ( all material and national power) Judah inherited the spiritual ( scepter) blessing. That is the advantage of the Jews ( Judah, Benjamin and Levi) . Is it a coincidence that it’s says this blessing we’re to be given to them in the last days ( later days) and USA and Great Britain and it’s commonwealth nations fulfills Genesis 38 and we USA and Great Britain have always called each other brothers. Jews no doubt are Israelites but majority of Israelites are not Jews. Bible say that when Jesus Christ comes back again he is going to bring back Ephraim and it brother Israelites ( other nine tribes) and Judah and it’s brothers Israelites ( Benjamin and Levi) together to become one nation again and be two separate nations any longer and raise David to be king over them again forever. It’s time to open our eyes accept our true identity as actual physical Israel; the lost sheep of of the house of Israel. Many ignore Deuteronomy 32:26 where God prophecy to cease the remembrance of Israel from among men. The ten tribe kingdom of Israel and not the house of Judah ( Jews) became they never lost their identity, language and religion. By the time Judah ( jews) were taken as slaves by the Chaldean empire ( Babylon) the house of Israel which was in the Assyrian territory as slaves had already started to forget their Hebrew language and identity and had gotten their freedom and journey northwest through Central Europe. Israel in the minor prophets is calls isles, coastal lands.

    Justified by Faith
15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified[b] by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor. 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness[c] were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Or do you not know, brothers - for I speak to those knowing the Torah - that the Torah rules over a man as long as he lives?
For the married woman has been bound by Torah to the living husband, but if the husband dies, she is released from the Torah concerning her husband.
So then, while her husband lives, she shall be called an adulteress if she becomes another man’s. But if her husband dies, she is free from that part of the Torah, so that she is not an adulteress, having become another man’s.
So my brothers, you also were put to death to the Torah through the body of Messiah, for you to become another’s, the One who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to Elohim.
For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, through the Torah, were working in our members to bear fruit to death.
But now we have been released from the Torah, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in newness of Spirit and not in oldness of letter.

      Romans 7: 13-14 KJV
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
      Romans 7: 21-25 KJV
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
This may be in line with what you were pointing out:
      Jeremiah 31:33 KJV
but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith [YHWH], I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Well there's also the issue that the first group of people who were at Mount Sinai were a mixed group of Hebrews, Egyptians, and anyone else who came with the Hebrews that were slaves or lower class people living in Egypt. So there could have been 1 of every nation at that decree. Why didn't Yah just strike them all down right then and there or tell Moshe to let the 'others' know they aren't included. I feel bad for mainstream Christians which includes dispensationalists, pre tribulation rapture people, OSAS, Sunday worship, Easter, Good Friday, and we all know the rest. They desperately make content trying to prove their position and their commentors are desperately trying to convince themselves that what they believe is true. I know people say to give them time or let them be in their belief because as long as they believe in Jesus/Yahusha they're better off than most but I disagree. I think most of these people know in their heart that some of these things they believe don't add up because some are just too obvious. What they're doing is trying to corrupt others for their own comfort in their own lives. Not all of them but plenty of them especially 'scholars'. Once you're presented with the information enough and you still fight it, it becomes on you. Videos like this one makes it so plain. Then the final issue is you're better safe than sorry. You can't live holy without the law by definition.
Acts 15 is all about not overwhelming new believers from gentile nations. Paul and his disciples just settled that it's the right thing to do to just give them those four commandments as a start and not instantly throw the whole Torah into everyone's face or scare them immediately away by saying that they have to cut their forskins right away to even start their journey. What some men from Judea wanted. Verse 21 makes that even more obvious that they should learn the rest of the Torah bit by bit, Sabbath after Sabbath as it was taught everywhere. Nothing about not keeping the law. In Acts 21 when Paul comes back to Jerusalem, he literally denies the same interpretation - that you claim - that became rumours about Paul. Literally. It's even directly written that Paul observed the law. Read verse 21-25. And maybe use the ESV. In many other translations verse 25 has an addition to the original manuscripts since the KJV that helps the twisted doctrine of lawlessness. Don't believe my words. Look it up. Maybe on biblehub. This whole we "concluded they should observe no such thing" nonsense part was never there. In the book of Daniel it's even prophecied that in the last days Satan will attack the law. Connect the dots. Even Peter warned of twisting Pauls words in his letter. Acts 15 is just one of the many things Peter was exactly talking about. Read the last 3 chapters of Isaiah what Yeshua will do to those who eat pork, when he comes back.
It's not meant to be an offense. But you like many are deceived. Really meditate on the content of the video. No coincidence that at the moment globally believers from whatever doctrine come to the Torah, as many Jews come to the Messiah. It's both. I hope, you'll find the truth. By the way ALL the feasts of the Torah (thar are His feasts, not ours) point to a wedding with Yeshua. Think about it. May Yah guide you into His eternal law!

@@synthtonic4954 The "give them 4 commandments as a start" argument is not exegetical. You are importing that idea into a text in order to make it say what you want it to say. One of the "starter" commands found in Acts 15 is to abstain from meats offered to idols. Paul tells us why in Romans 14 and 1 Cor 8; we are to abstain from eating meats offered to idols so we do not offend the Jews, who have had Moses preached to them for generations. These are not starter laws. They are instructions to follow out of love for the Jews. Please repent of your twisting the Word of God.

0:15 The whole Bible is true an applicable to our lives today. But this does not mean every covenant made by God is applicable to us today. Jesus fulfilled the shadow of animal sacrifice by sacrificing his own body. The new covenant does not require animal sacrifices. There is no more offering for sin because of Jesus' one and only sacrifice for by one offering he has perfected for ever those that are sanctified. There are other Old Covenant commands that are not applicable today, such as circumcision, keeping the Passover, dietary food laws, and a many other ceremonial commands. The moral laws which are derived from the character of God, well, those are eternal. It's always wrong to murder someone, not matter which covenant you fall under.
    Heb 10:4
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
    Heb 10:8 - 10
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
    Heb 10:14 -
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

5:15 the commands in Matt 5 seem to be for preaching to hebrews only at that time, as for Matt 28 this is "all that he commanded" which is refined later by John to believe and to love one another. We do not see Gentiles as part of the ministry until Acts, where we find they are all surprised. Further, in Acts 15 the Gentiles are released from the Torah and specifically circumcision. Just to avoid fornication and blood sacrificed to idols is all that remained for the new Gentile believers. Paul in Romans also builds a strong case the the Jews should remain with their law and the Gentiles should not adopt these practices yes they are unified under Christ.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation said the apostle Paul by the authority of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 6:15
If you are a Jew you must keep all the law perfectly to be justified by the law or else face God's righteous condemnation. This is impossible for by the deeds of the law there
shall no flesh be justified in His sight." Romans 3:20
Christians are not under the law of Moses or the Torah. The Old Covenant was fulfilled and passed away with the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. We are living under a new and
better covenant established by Christ NOT Moses. God's judgment came upon the Jews who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and His judgment is upon both Jew and Gentile who seek
    justification by the Torah.
Disciples of Christ today are not without law but they are under the law to Christ. The law for believers today is summarized simply by this: "Love God with all your heart, soul, mind
,and strength and your neighbor as yourself. On these TWO commandments hang all the law and prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40)
Forget the over 600 laws of Moses. Enjoy your liberty in Christ if you claim to follow HIm. Repent and believe! Unyoke yourself from the bondage you are under by Moses' law. Dietary laws do not have to be followed, nor circumcision, nor keeping the Sabbath. All these have been fulfilled for the Christian. Jews are no more pleasing to God by following the Torah.

Torah or not? Read Romans 14 below.
A Christian whose Faith is strong can eat everything but the one whose faith is weak, eats only vegetable. What did Torah say about kosher food?
One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. What did Torah say about Sabbath and many other festivals?
Our faith which bears the fruit of the holy spirit assured God's promises to us (Christians).
Galatians 5:22-23 - 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law (TORAH)
    Romans 14:1-12
    New International Version
    The Weak and the Strong
14 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. 2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. 4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written:
“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
    ‘every knee will bow before me;
    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”[b]
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Festivals? Seriously? Who is the Aaronic priest today with authority over a lunar calendar as Num 10:8-10 says? Bc without that priest, you are adding to the commandments, which is forbidden. As well, feasts are kept in only one place on earth; the Temple in Jerusalem. Without that temple, you are adding to the commandments, which is forbidden.
Two examples exist in scripture why we are forbidden to keep (commemorate, rehearse, practice, memorialize) the feasts. First, Israel did not keep them when thrown out of the land just like we are not to do. It was only when coming back to the land AT THE TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM when feasts began again. Until that time, feasts CEASED (Hosea 9, 2:11).
Second, Jeroboam decided the lunar calendar without the authority of the Aaronic priests and this was considered grave sin. He also decided a new place for feast keeping other than the Temple in Jerusalem, also considered grave sin. All those who followed along with Jeroboam's heresy were complicit in this sin. They were destroyed by Yah.
Yes, we are Israel. No, we do not pretend to keep, practice or rehearse feasts. No such commandments exists to do so in captivity. Feasts were first commanded only after Israel entered the promised land (Ex 12 & 13) and while wondering over the next 40 years, Israel disobeyed. Deut 12 is a rebuke to Israel for doing what they were not supposed to do outside of the land "for you have not yet reached the place...."
Feast time in particular, is to be a time of mourning because we cannot keep them. They are not a time to disobey Yah by changing His commands or adding your own place, time, or way to celebrate. We do not have authority to declare any lunar time keeping. This authority was not given to another tribe other than Levi. And even then, only Aaron's descendants. While the 7th day Sabbath and all other commands that don't hinge on a lunar calendar or a Temple in Jerusalem, we are to obey. Claiming we are to celebrate feasts and declaring a lunar calendar is no different than the sin of Jeroboam even if motives are different or honorable when Jeroboam's were not. Motives do not make disobedience into obedience; ask Uzzah.
Lastly, "olam" does not negate anything else Yah has said. Other commands are "olam" that are not to be done as well bc they also require a Temple and/or Leviitical system in place. People need to stop following man, even one that teaches Torah. If they are claiming a lunar calendar and feast celebrations, they are NOT teaching Torah!
