- How Marshall & Forest Law got their design and move set from Bruce Lee.
When I did the original video, it was something I did randomly one night when I had a really good creative idea (The video). I did not expect it to rise to the popularity that it is today (So much so that its first pick when you search for Bruce Lee Tekken) The follow-up video, with Jackie Chan and Lei Wulong was done much more seriously. So, I decided to give the same amount of treatment I gave that video with this one.
Added allot more footage and moves I missed, as well as HD versions of all the movies, sans Game of Death, since I had to get the fights somewhere else because the original Game of Death does not have all of the original footage of the Pagoda Fight.

I love how all the opponent characters match the enemies on the film. I love this and the Jackie Chan/Lei one.
Bruce Lee's image, sound and style lives on in the several fighting games to be honest.
Exactly, one example of this is the premise of the original Mortal Kombat game, a secret tournament on a remote island, being based on Bruce Lee's final film Enter The Dragon

Yeah, Liu Kang, both Laws from Tekken, Fei Long, and also Jan Lee from Dead or Alive series. Bruce Lee has a lot of influence on fighting games.

Also, I liked that touch of dressing opponents similar to Bruce's enemies. Loved that.

It's Just Amazing And Awesome How Some Characters In Fighting Games especially Tekken Are Based Off Real Life People Like Marshall Law And Forrest Law Are Based Off Bruce Lee. It's A Neat Way To Honor Such A Legend Who Unfortunately Passed Away so Young Yet Made Such A Impact On Pop Culture From Fighting games To Others

Man, thanks for this. Really makes me wanna main Law in Tekken 7 now. I didn't notice before but it's crazy how Neo's (The Matrix) fighting style is borrows and is inspired from Bruce Lee. The scene at 9:45 - 9:52 in particular reminds me of when Neo gets back up to fight Agent Smith in the subway fight and does almost that exact same taunt. Also when Neo and Morpheus are sparring in the dojo in The Matrix, Neo does Bruce's signature "wipe nose with thumb" move. The reach of Bruce Lee's influence is amazing!

I remember when I was 13 I went to a championship of teken tag in my city that was amazing I used to rule with law and lei I got 5th place between 50 guys.

Fun fact for those who don't know. In the scene at 15:49 Lee actually beat the shit out of Chan and he was legitimately hurt. After filming Lee approached Chan, apologized and complimented Chan's martial arts. Jackie Chan says this was a huge inspiration for him.
The only Tekken player I would love to choose when I am playing Tekken.

Ironically, Law's old bio (back in Tekken 1 and 2) his style was listed as "Martial Arts" (Ha, that double pun). While Lee's style was Jeet Kune Do.

I've been playing tekken for a long time but I never realized they took the moves from the actual movies, that's awesome, I think most fighting games have a bruce lee in it, Street fighter(Fei Long), mortal kombat( liu kang) , bruce lee he influenced so much on fighting Games, remember the first street fighter was suposed to be a Bruce lee Game, then they changed ryu to a redhead and changed the name to street fighter due to copyrights .

Law's Tekken 6 BR incarnation is probably his best incarnation gameplay wise throughout the entire series. TTT2 he's not as good, although both times Marshall decided to shave his moustache.

What I like about BL's fight scenes is that you can really feel the impact of his kicks and punches and I didn't know he's so cute in the 70s
Oh I forgot to make an annotation there, no they did not that. That wasn't a back grab iirc, it was an item throw that changes Law's throw when you have the chest scar clothing equipped. Law's backthrow has always been he grabs them by their hair and does a powerful single punch into their face. Forest's version is he punches them real hard in the back.

Thanks for the video. Law was always one of my favourite characters in Tekken. One thing that I don't like though is that the Devs over the years make the character too muscular and sturdy in my opinion. Bruce Lee had yes a muscular but thin and athletic body. In the last Tekkens looks excessive and dull..
when I was a kid when you talked about karate or kung fu. we didn't think of jackie chan or jet li or anyone else. the first thing that came to mind was bruce lee. we all wanted to be bruce lee and acted like one.

Dragon Cannon....one of my favourite moves in Tekken
Oh..this was apparent LOOOOONG B4 Tekken came along. I know, this is a video that focuses on tekken itself. Just saying.A Forest Law and Bruce Lee side by side comparison really shows the influence made here. The moves are identical. In the games franchises that Lee's influence can be seen are really only visible in the character models themselves. I have to agree, Tekken is spot on! I love those games and, to this day, I still play Tekken 3 all the time! Me and a few friends had it out this past weekend with it. One fella, around my age (52) had never even seen it before. I picked up a PS mini a few months back and was playing Res. Evil when they walked in a saw it. They were blown away that 20 games, 2controllers, and..NO memory cards fit right in the palm of my hand! The Mini has self memory now so you no longer need them. My only complaint is the games list itself. Who picked this and how they choose which ones. No Gran Torismo?! That's the best seller of the PS 1 and I don't care for driving games! It does, however, have R.E.1, Metal Gear Solid 1, along with Tekken 3. Other games left me baffled as to how they made the list. Games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo? WTF? First of all, you've only got 20 games' room and you've already got Tekken as a fighter. Why not put something like Silent Hill or Doom? The only real FPS on it is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Why? The game is extremely difficult to tolerate and Doom is easy to play. No Tomb Raider either? Why not? There's NO exploration games on it like that at all. I know..for one complaint, it's a long one! But, it's true. If Sony makes a PS2 mini, I hope they do a better job of selection. Oh..and, ya can't play anything else on it. No way to add content. Yes, this would require more tech and a price fix but, in this day and age, a few more bucks ain't gonna matter. Anyway, ya got the picture. Here's the list:

I was hoping Forest would retake Marshall's current move list with Dragon Sign and Fake. I guess the reasons the fans want to keep the elder Law in the canon games is they began with the first two games. Or, the character surpasses Bruce Lee's age.
I know thats why I put that scene in there, but I forgot to put an annotaiton saying that was in Tekken 6 but I dont have Tekken 6 so I couldnt produce a video of it. Theres videos on YT of the throw though yes.
