Nice that you kept the original patina. Sounds great!. I have a 76 R90/6 . 58,000 on the clock and still bullitt proof. Keep the content coming, nice job all around.
I'm glad I did, I like the wear on this bike. Great patina on all the paint. Your bike sounds great. I've been riding mine a ton all summer and it doesn't give me a single problem. Next up is a 73 R75 /5!
I love the name of the color of this bike! I could just imagine writing it in Cuba parking at a cafe and having a cigar with some coffee. It's nice you kept the patina also and kept everything else very clean.
Nice👍. I’m working on my 74 R90/6. White. Had a Vetter fairing for most of its life and I’m putting back to original like yourself. Bought in 1979. Has just over 79k. Krauser bags. Wish me luck.
Very nice R90/6 BMW, I like the mods that you have done on charging system and ignition system. I own a 1976 R90/6 Black w white pinstripe motorcycle like yours. Disassembled the Gauge cluster and installed all new bulbs. I do like the L.E.D upgrade.
Well done. I agree your exhaust sounds amazing. I refurbished a 1975 R90/6 in Monza Blue. Keeping the worn and a little rough original paint vs repainting is a hard decision for me. Keeping it original for now anyway.
Love the Hoske sport exhaust. I always like to keep the worn paint. I love getting a bike into excellent mechanical condition while leaving the patina it's earned over the years.
Pretty easy! Dump all the fluids, and pull the heads, cylinders, oil pan, timing cover, etc. All new rubber and gaskets and back together. Easily done in a weekend.
Great video! I'm looking at one very very similar condition as yours was. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it? Or, what do you think the price range should be? I'll try to send you a pic in my reply. Thank you.
I bought this bike non running for around $4000 if I remember right, I definitely overpaid a bit for it. I put another $1000+ into it for mechanical and electrical fixes and upgrades. I think it's now worth around $5500+ as well sorted mechanically as it is. Some people might disagree based on the patina, but I figure it's only original once and there's not a ton of Havana Gold /6 around!
I have a 1975 R90 in Havana Gold. Same mileage, and condition… you’ve done yours up nice - you got it running nice. I put the S fairing on mine :) Any note on no crossover? Cheers, find me on the Facebook groups mate ✌️
Awesome! I'll look for it on the FB airheads group. Would love to see it. I might add an S fairing at some point. The no crossover setup sounds great, and doesn't cause any problems I can see.
Very nice :) I’m in the process of cleaning up a ‘76 R90/6. I’m curious about how you went about replacing the seals on the rear drive. Did you buy the special tools or have someone do it for you?
Nice bike. I have exactly the same... 1976 R90/6 Havana Gold with 29k (VIN 4971969) BTW: It looks like you've got your instrument panel installed incorrectly. The tongue should go into the plastic sleeve not under. (Timestamp 00:03:28.)
Thanks! Yes I'm aware the gauge cluster is installed wrong. I had the wrong bolts that were too long, and did it that way to make them work. I still need to track down correct length bolts for the gauge mounting.
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! 😊

Right on! I do too, the Havana Gold is my favorite color on these. Glad you like it.
I have not seen one that colour before. Is it a standard BMW colour or has it been resprayed at some point?

I have an R90/6 that has been sitting for over 20 years. How big a deal is re-sealing the engine?

Kool machine .paint work adds to it.good 2c tool stray ? N air pump under seat..
I agree. Love the patina on this bike. Has original tool tray, tool kit, air pump, etc. It is an excellent rider!
Just ordered the Euromotor charging bundle; was it difficult to install? I'm hoping to completely upgrade my 81 R100 in one weekend. Thanks
No, it is very easy. I have a video on my channel showing the installation.

Right on! Havana Gold is the best color!
Very nice :)

The rear drive seals don't really require any special tools that I recall.
we have 1 like this in black color at home, but it doesn't light up, is it still sold for sale?
Hi, yes this bike is currently for sale.

Seriously ?
Just noticed…. Is the rear tire mounted wrong direction? Idk.
Not that I noticed, but I will have to check. Still running it that way! haha
@@OctaneElectrons I thought I saw an arrow on the tire… might be my old eyes😂😂
