Way back when... when I was at the Tunnel of Love Tour in Chicago I heard this song for the time I knew it was a masterpiece. It was too bad in was composed with a 1987 synthesizer and a mullet. That was a rough phase for Bruce as the 80's style was forced upon him. So here I am am in 2024 -37 years later listening to the lyrical masterpiece to a natural sound.
In studio version Nils just has the one mid song solo and it’s clipped pretty short, this song ending solo is stupendously mid blowing…no one can bend the strings like Nils.
Im not a Springsteen fan, but there are a few songs i like. This is one that I really like. I never heard a live version before and honestly thought it would sound like shit. I was really, really wrong. Wow. That's all i can say.

It's a beautiful melody. First time ever hearing it was in a soundtrack of an Israeli movie I own and love. It's called "Walk on Water". The Massad agent( Israeli secret service) featured in the movie , loved this song and it was played in some very special moments . Great song and a great movie if you are a fan of foreign movies.
