it's nice to see your market thriving. When so much stuff about the US is negative these days, it's encouraging to know there are still people like you and places like the market.
True! We need more of these markets.
@@bgatlin5918problem in my area is prices are so outrageous from buying direct, that people just continue to go to grocery stores
Look at the culture to understand why
I think the majority of Americans are just like this. The news just shows you all the bad.
There are SO MANY people and places like this in the United States. The media CHOOSES to focus on and push out negative stories. Trust me, there seems to be an agenda to try to keep people focused on anything bad. There are millions of Americans who are good, honest folks, who do NOT hate or mistrust their neighbors! I know it's hard sometimes, but I really hope and pray that more and more of us focus on the good people and various communities that make this country the best place to live. ❤🙏🏼🇺🇲
And the Ithaca Farmers market couldn’t thrive without all its hardworking farmers!
Thanks for taking us along with you 👍👍✌️
Thanks for taking us to the Farmers Market. I enjoy it.
Hi Pete....Another outstanding video this week.....we look forward to all of your videos...So good seeing you back at the farmers market again..Enjoy your week.....May God bless your farm....
Me too it’s fun to people watch as well as get the insight.
Pete is a man of many talents. In addition to all the skills he demonstrates on the farm, he is also a charismatic and congenial salesman.
Nice to see Pete and the farmers market vendors and customers all having a good time. Kind of reassuring
Thanks for posting this video. Nice to see you back at the market. You do seem so happy there as well as the customers.
It was a pleasure for me and my wife to meet you at the market this weekend (and to buy your last whole chicken). One thing I forgot to mention was that your videos inspired me to track down my late grandpa's 1948 Farmall Cub that I remember riding with him as a boy. With my grandma's help, I tracked it down, bought it from the farmer who had it, and plan to keep it in the family. Thanks for helping keep us connected to the land, the food we eat, and to our heritage. And if you ever do a Farmall Cub restoration video, I will be forever grateful!
This is awesome. I’m in Ireland, and currently restoring my grandfather’s Fordson Super Dexta. Tractor restoration is good for the soul! And a tangible reminder of how our parents and grandparents lived their lives. Pete has been a great inspiration for me too, even if my tractor is blue 😅
I love the market videos Pete ❤😂
The world needs more markets like this.
@@eastafrica1020 That´s fantastic.
@@eastafrica1020These used to be normal in America. My small city used to have a square where a farmer could sell his produce out of a cart but a parking lot next to the library on Sunday is where farmers can bring their produce to sell now. Grocery stores largely got rid of direct sales.
The Market makes you feel alive with everybody walking around searching for that right item to take home. It's a nice way to spend a Saturday with everybody.
Thanks for bringing back the farmer's market. It brings another element to your/the farming process. From birth in and on the farm to consumer. It's showing the process in full circle.
Thanks for the video. It is uplifting to see the positive interaction among all the peoples. I would be thrilled to attend the Ithaca Farmers Market some day.
Thank you for posting your video of “my day at the market”. It was such a blessing to see everyday folks enjoying the simple pleasures and joy of direct marketing. Glad you had a successful day! Thanks again for taking all of us along.
Good Morning Pete! Thank you for taking us along!! 🥩🍗🥬🥦🫑🍦🥗🍾🎨🛥️🍷
I was just wondering the other day why you had not had a Market Day in a while and then here it is!! Thanks much Pete and greetings to you and Hillary from the State of Nevada.
I’m currently stationed at Fort Riley KS. I hope one day I can come meet you at the market.
He said in a video he doesn't like filming without consent so the market videos are a little iffy.
Pere glad to see you at the market
Hi Pete and watchers. I have watched your videos for years and never get tired of watching. I like it all - rebuilding farm equipment, spreading manure, auctions and everything in between. I grew up in Iowa and had family who farmed. I hate city life and find your farm a wonderful place to visit weekly Please say hello to Hillary and the kids.
Pete it’s nice to see you back at market and selling well. It’s nice that people come from other states to visit you at market. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love the farmers market videos. Enjoyed it when i visited personally. Glad that such a venue survived Covid shutdowns and continues to support the local farming/ artisan community
I love the mix of livestock, fencing, haying, tractor/equipment rebuilding and maintenance, gardening, market and the day in the videos. Huge fan!
Good day to all.
Awesome day and getting to meet new people is a plus . Thank you for keeping a farm and taking it to market for all to see . Have a great day Pete , May God bless you and your family , and the farm .
I look forward to waking up on Sunday morning getting a cup of coffee and watching just a few acres farm. ❤
Thank you Pete for taking us to the market again with you, it's been a while .
I like the market vids. I like farmer's markets.
Your final comments ring so true..in the area that I live in the county has a population of 11,000 and farmer market need lots more people to be a viable option.
Good morning Pete nice to see you at farmers market...Great perspective to the other finger lakes in similarities in markets in New York State...thank you Pete
That was lovely, spending a day at the market with Pete. Thank you.
Enjoyed. My Dad was raised on the family farm. They grew apples, pork, chicken and grew their own feed. My cousins farm it now.
We still have the copper cauldron the cider was made in.
The farm was its own market, being on a state road. Thanks, Pete!
Nice to be back at the market with you. Thanks for taking us along, glad you had a good day!
The first video of yours that I have watched. With that being said, I completely agree with your closing statement. If you want fresh local produce/goods you have to support those farmers that put so much into raising those items.
One thing I find interesting about farmer’s markets is it’s really so similar to the way goods were sold for probably thousands of years. I wish we had more of an open market in every community.
Support local farmers!!! Thanks for the inspiration Pete. So many of your ideas we've adopted in a small homestead in Zimbabwe Africa. Wishing you all the best!
Always enjoy a couple videos of your market days. I you stated, it is a very important part of your operation. Without it small farms are tough to survive. The area I’m from has finally got a good group together and have setup selling together making their own on farm markets.
Thanks for posting Pete
Thanks Pete for the day at the market. As a 5 year old kid in the early 1950s I was lucky to live in a small (pop. 1300) farm supporting town in Oklahoma which had a Saturday market during the nice weather. The local farmers brought their produce to sell and the local merchants had a drawing for small amounts of local "script" money exchangeable at the local stores. By 1975 when I left Oklahoma most all those small towns were dried up bedroom satellite bedroom towns for the larger metro areas. We kids had a blast running around downtown and going to the movies.
Glad you posted a video I love the videos from the farmers market
Far too many people don't know what they have. Until it's gone. I'm deeply appreciative for everything and everyday that I have. Thanks for the market video!! Always enjoyable.
In my opinion. Quite few younger adults are very disrespectful to older generation as myself. Even at work. They talk to you like have no sense. Bs. You ask them direct question about something. They toss you off. No respect. No drive to help. More inclusive to their generation
Hi Pete. We’ve watched you for years. Great to see how your farmer’s market runs. It was your success that lead us to sell at ours. We’ve sold for 2 years. We are the only vendor at ours on Saturdays. Occasionally a second vendor will set up but they typically are short lived. It’s hard work. But unlike you, our community as a whole doesn’t value homegrown food vs. Walmart. I’m still giving it a good fight. But it’s definitely not financially supporting our farm. You are very blessed to have one nearby.
Thanks Pete, my daughter starts at Hobart and William Smith in August and we hope to come down from Geneva to say hello. I've been watching you for three years now every Sunday morning.
Nice to see people from Grand Rapids Michigan that where I’m from, I just love watching your videos.
Pete and family. Thanks for the content (all of it). I grew up on a 60 acre farm raising corn, soybeans, hogs, popcorn, sweet corn, and working for other farmers when I was young. You are continuing what I have left behind and I enjoy it immensely. Best.
Wonderful video Pete. It just ended way, way too soon. And a big thank you for highlighting some of your fellow vendors; you can see the pride in their work just by observing their produce and products. Here’s wishing you good haying weather. 😊
Good morning and thanks for all your videos love the market videos Pete
Hello from West Tennessee. Love you and Hillary's videos . Love the care you take of the animals . We live so far out in the boonies we have to pump in sunshine. LOL ! We do manage to have a small garden . It would be great to have market like ya'll have . My husband and I so much regret not fencing in our property 20 years ago when we retired so we could raise our own meat . It is so wonderful you sharing your farm life. Thank you so much. God bless.
So good to have a Market place video. Lots of happy shopers ! I know you are reluctant to infringe on people by taking a video of them, but they don't seem to mind, and we love meeting them, just to know how "the othrr half lives" Thanks Pete.
I wish every town and city had farmers markets all over instead of endless aisles of big box chains.
I think the other thing that makes your market great is that it is not seasonally closed, it has the two week hiatus and everything is back on.
I wish our locality had a market system like this. You are blessed to have it.
I am in my 70's and old enough to recall the huge indoor Farmer's market that we attended most Saturdays in Williamsport, PA. The facility was huge with, I would guess, well over 100 (likely many more than that) vendors including multiple fresh meat vendors. In the late 70's or early 80's the market ceased to exist as attendance declined and the lard brick building torn down.
I had moved from the area by then but family remained. When they told me about its demise I could hardly believe it. I recall it as so well attended the aisles were frequently packed and it was a challenge to navigate around without brushing up against patrons.
Since that time smaller outdoor markets have sprung up in the area as there seems to be a bit or a resurgence of interest in farm to table food but the grandeur of the big indoor market will likely never been seen in our area again. What a loss.
When I was little, my Dad would take us to the Farmer's Market and it was always alot to see, smell, and the mass of people. And even take us on Saturdays to the produce stands that sold corn, peaches, blueberries, tomatoes and other seasonal veggies. I always remember the smells like farm animals and ofcourse the best, was the county fair with all the big tractors. Thank you for your family's hard work and explanation of what really goes into a small farm and the market.
Boy I wish I lived by you ,you first would be my weekly shop , how blessed people are that do ,
Pete we had the privilege to meet you here at the market last fall. We truly do believe that this type of market is indeed the missing link for the farm to table. We purchased some of your ground beef and it was very delicious and we could tell the difference right off. Thanks for another trip to the market. Love these videos.
I visited Ithaca 5 years ago. I’ve been watching for 2 years. I may have to go back to visit the farmers market! Love this channel!🙋🏻♂️❤️👏🏼
Thanks for taking us to the Farmer’s Market. I always enjoy the busy vibe.
It was great to see Pete in person as well as the market. The atmosphere was great and so friendly. We need more markets like the Ithaca market. Thanks Pete for all you do.
Pleasantly surprised to hear someone from Grand Rapids Michigan - my hometown!
Hello Pete. Hope you did have a great day at the farmer's market!! Be well.🥰
Love to see Pete out at the market with the fans 😊
It’s funny- back in the day every farmer pressed out apples and had an oak barrel or two in the shed. Straight from the press to the barrel, nothing added but the bung to seal it up. ‘Round about the end of February my grandfather would grab a length of clear plastic tubing and he and I would go see if it was good and fizzy yet.
Now it’s gourmet.
Thanks Pete for another awesome Sunday morning video.
Great stuff Pete. That's what right looks like. God bless small farmers around the world.
Pete my Wife works with the ENC honey and I didn’t even know all the different kinds of honey. They also sell Pollen Pills for allergies and several different wine Honey Vinegar and it’s good. They sell local pecans that are turned into candied Pecans done by the mennonites. She enjoys it all. Just another type of agriculture. The pollen pills really help People with allergies. Keeps her busy!
I agree the farmers market is a missing link for small farmers. Nice to see you filmed at the market. Thanks Pete.
Very nice lighthearted and important to know..
May I suggest that you have beautiful display color photo signs, of your Beef etc. so passerbys who are too busy to read, will get a glimpse of your healthy meats and poultry. I wish I lived closer, I would buy it all!🥰
Thanks for taking time out of your days to bring us this video, really enjoy the farmer's market videos
We love our local farmers market. It is much smaller, and outdoors, but we get good produce and meat. Once a month craft vendors can set up also.
I'm sure lots of folks who are small-time farmers or raise livestock appreciate your realistic views on surviving financially. 🙂
Glad to see all the people who get to enjoy your hard work!
Your humility is commendable Pete! Reliance on customers looking for the very best product takes patience and courage. God bless you!
Thank you again Pete. I think you are helping to open eyes to a younger generation that good food production is a viable livelihood. Again a thank you to you and Hillary and the family for giving us our weekly dose of serenity.
Isn't it amazing how much depth we get from the simplicity of farm life?
I’m about 3 hrs from you and one of these days I’m going to show up, say hi and fill a cooler up!
My wife and I were in the area for winter market a few years ago, we met Hilary and bought some sausage, still say it was some of the best sausage we've had. Love the market video, hope to stop up again soon
Thanks for sharing your day at the farmers Market and giving us a tour Pete. I sure wish we lived closer, fresh carrots, beans and other vegetables would be so good. And your products, your meats look so good. Bbq worthy.
Pete, thank you for taking us along to the Saturday. Nice video with my coffee this morning.
So glad you brought us back to the Farmers Market. I’ve missed it.
I am from Michigan and not too
far from Grand Rapids. I loved to see someone from home.
Enjoyed watching you at the market. So glad that you had a good day selling your food.
What a great arrangement for all parties involved! You're absolutely right Pete - Local food producers for local consumption is ideal. Sadly we are seeing more and more small farmers being pushed out of business for nefarious reasons. It's nice to see an area where this important connection between producers and consumers is still being nurtured.
The Farmer's Market videos are always fun to watch... Although I confess I DO get a tad jealous! ;)
Sounds like you had a very good sales day,Pete!!..And people come from all over!!
Thanks for taking us along. Have you ever thought maybe getting a U-Haul style truck (I know, another vehicle to worry about), doesn't have to be U-Haul but you get the idea, with a frame mounted generator to run those freezers while traveling or even at the market if they don't have power. Then you can have a ramp or a liftgate with a dolly to make it easier for you to transport those freezers. Again thanks for taking us along.
Hi Pete. It's been too long without a farmer's market video! We love those. Please do more of those.
Thanks for showing us! I love the togetherness farmer's markets bring us!
The market helps people by growing and the small farmer as outlet for for their quality food and products. Thank you Pete and Hillary for your wonderful videos and sharing. The best channel to watch!❤
Thanks, Pete....Great wholesome entertainment as always... Always look forward to seeing JAFAF videos... it's like getting a letter from back home.
Pete, thank you, and your fans and your customers. And all the people at the market. It was nice seeing it again.
We have a small farmer's market where I live. And it's always exciting to go there. God bless, see you in the next video bye
Great to see you at the farmers market! It is so fun to see the interactions and it's such a happy video!
I'd like to see a few more of these Pete, the way you incorporate the market into your videos is essential to the content of the channel. It's gold star class, well done. :))
Farm markets are an essential way for all farmers to be known and people to know and learn about their products. Here in Québec, Canada, i live all my life surrounded by farms of all sizes and most are able to sell their products on the side of the road of their farm, i had been living here since i was 3 yeas old and my grandparents would always bring us with them on weekends to go and walk about farms, the local town market etc. Sadly for a few years now some interlopers had invaded the local markets and have been selling produce that comes from Montréal grocers market where we don't know where said produce are produced either. Here in Canada we had been plague with those fake produce, where the vendors do a switch-roo and ask ridiculous prices as well, which also hurt farmers in every area in the end 😞 It is so nice to see you walk around the market, show other people produce, how they make them etc. So nice of you and see the love and engagement Pete, thank you. Everyone should support their local farmers 🙂
I know from previous posts you are not keen on doing Farmer's Market Video's but I have waited a long time for this. We (Wife and I ) really enjoy watching you at the market selling and then above all when you take us on a tour. its really nice to see other farms in the northeast thriving and what they are selling and doing. We' not farmers per se. but live in farm country we have farmas all around us. we are on an old farmland ourselves. thanks for taking the time to share the market Pete It is a welcome video here at our household. God speed. ECF
Here in the UK grass reared sirloin would be about $18 a pound, so your $11 is very good value.
Thank you Pete! I love seeing market days!
I hope that when I visit this wonderful market that you are there Pete so I can try your wonderful and delicious looking products.
I'm envious of your market there Pete! I wish I had something near that offered so much! Thanks for sharing.
How I wish this Texan could get some Dexter beef from you and a few chickens! Thank you for sharing your “end” product!💗💗💗💗💗
Hi Pete, I've been watching your channel for, well, I think the beginning and I have to say, you are the best!
I did enjoy the video Pete! I wish I lived closer to that market. A good farmer’s market is so important to the areas development.
I always enjoy the farmers market videos. Thanks for posting!
That was a great video. And the people bring you egg cartons. Thank you for doing this video.
