    Personally, Zen UV was like love at first sight because I've never really enjoyed the UV mapping process. This is more of a "Me problem" because I've always found UV Mapping kind of stressful and tedious. Packmaster has also been a life-changer, anyone who deals with UV's should try both. Thanks!

    Jesus, I knew this would make my life easier but it goes beyond that! instead of the hour long painstaking workflow I've grown to hate, struggling to maintain motivation on some assets because of the time commitment necessary.. this is practically just button clicking now haha, far superior to the built in tools for UV unwrapping. And such a time saver!
    Great video! I purchased purely because it was suggested to me by a colleague, but I wasn't completely sure how to utilize it properly. This video highlights everything I need, So thank you!

    The thing that I really like in ZenUV - this thing can perfectly quadrify the Islands, which sometimes makes me annoying in RizomUV. And it has a quicker workflow in terms of selection and manipulation. And the more thing to go - RizomUV just hates booleans (you need to triangulate most of the mesh), which isn't a problem for ZenUV at all. Thanks for the guide Ryuurui

      @@PonteRyuurui The only catch is that you have to check 'Fixed Scale' under UVPackmaster Advanced settings if you want to preserve the texel density when you pack with that engine. This checkbox would be a nice addition to the ZenUV Pack settings when you have that engine selected.

    Ryuu, buddy this is by far the best addon I've ever seen. UV unwrapping is to me the worst part of the CG pipeline. Nothing I hate more. This addon feels illegal. I am definitely getting this. If there ever was a problem that needed solving it is Blender UV Unwrapping.

  • @adamszalai2673
    @adamszalai2673 Před 2 lety

    Hey There!
    1- Is ZenUV checker texture "override" works also on multi matid? i mean not just override the texture node, but when i'm removing (or turning it off as i see in the video) then it keeps my material ids intact (means not replacing the "latest slot" with checker material, or delete my already connected texture node/id), right?
    2-plus (sorry for the silly question) but all the ZenUV features are working with uv/3dview synchronization on, right? i tried some free uv addon, and the vanilla uv editor, and i had to turn on and off uv/3dview sync all the time)
    3-is there any move and sew (with scale) in the addon? Like stitch 2 uv face by a common edge but not just move and sew but also scale the "child island"
    Thanks for the video and the answers in advance :)

    Thanks for introducing Zen UV. I already had it in my Wish List and I will definitely buy this addon as it has a lot of helpful features. However, the Quadrify Islands feature seems to have the same problem as the UV Squares addon. The quadrified islands get deformed again after packing several times which is very annoying and I hoped you would show a way to fix this.

    • @PonteRyuurui
      @PonteRyuurui  Před 2 lety +2

      you could select islands by traits and lock them (if you are using UVpackmaster engine there are locking options there as well), other than that you could submit a suggestion to the dev team.

    SLOW! i bought zen UV and i note that it is extremely slow to unwrap. FYI i have a 1080ti and a good cpu too so its not a memory or power issue. for example i am working on a model with 30,00 verts (hich is not that big) and i find ZEN UV really struggles with it - it takes ages.. any tips on how to overcome this.
