Go and watch one of his "what makes this song great" videos and you will see him glow as he's breaking down each nuance. Really infectious personality. He makes me want to pick up my guitar and get with it. An amazing person and his son Dylan is an genius prodigy. He will be doing incredible things with his life.

I love the EVH brown sound. I got the MXR EVH 5150 OD pedal not long ago. It delivers a convincing EVH tone. Awesome video Marty and Rick!
If you have a mid-pushing overdrive, I highly suggest it in front of the pedal. You'll get an even closer sound.
I actually got an Eq pedal, pushed the mids, and liked it better. Output 1-1:30, bass 10:30, mids and treble at 2~, and distortion at 12 gets you freakin close imo

It's interesting that the discussion of the sound never moved to the cabinet. Is the feeling that a great amp will sound great on any viable cabinet. I would think Marshall v Orange v H&K, etc would impact the intended sound. Let me know if I'm overthinking the cabinet/speakers. Cool video!

Hi Rick,..... Huge fan and supporter,... Please keep doing what your doing! I live in the New Orleans area and trying to sell a Power Soak just like the one you have, (but cant seem to find it now) When I listed it, seems like the rate was around 320, but I keep getting offers for @100. These guys seem as rare as hens teeth shopping now.... My question is, What did you pay, or, short of that,... do you think my asking is reasonable?

My guitar's too hot for two of my reverb pedals, so I love having an effects loop that runs at -10.
Looks like Rick has a 1999 Les Paul Classic (despite his truss rod cover saying 'Standard'). I have one I bought that year, too. It was the best damned guitar I've ever owned by leaps and bounds, but it got a twisted neck a few weeks ago, and now it's dead.
