  • A great idea, fine operation, good software, reliable electronics and a crappy mechanical design. This is the Tongsheng TSDZ2. A little more effort should have been invested by the manufacturer to produce a world class product.
    This video will show you how to prevent your TSDZ2 mid-engine centre axle from breaking.

    This is great information. I wish Tongsheng would sell a better axle, but it shouldn't be too hard to track down that extra bearing ( 61902-2RS )

      Also, riding one-legged with the bungee cord to pull the pedal back up is hilarious.

    Having had a sheard axle (on the drive side) , I added extra sealed bearings on both sides to all 3 of my motors. The bearing fits nicely instead of the dust seal on the chainring spider and been fine since (have over 3k miles on each) - easier & cheaper to replace the bearing than axle but so far have been fine

      What a great idea to put a bearing on the right side as well. It cannot be installed in the old TSDZ2 (this motor is at least five years old in the black Merida)) because the outer size of the sealing ring in the spider is 40mm in diameter, but my wife's red Merida already has a newer motor.

    Nice!! I also added an extra bearing to the right side. After removing the rubber seal, the bearing fits well inside the spider.

      Great idea! This will really make this axle bulletproof.
      Only the torque sensor needs a good idea, because two of them broke in less than 15,000 km.

      @@mcelec7603 I wonder how good the Toseven motor's torque sensor will be.

      @@cilami I'm curious too. The next one will probably be a Toseven, as Pswpower.com has already put it on their webshop.

    Perhaps your makeshift plate to stop the motor rotation caused a stress fracture?

    • @mcelec7603
      @mcelec7603  Před 3 měsíci

      At 0:18 you mean the slightly rusty plate to the right of the crown nut? That plate is just to protect the engine from rotation.

    • @utubeape
      @utubeape Před 3 měsíci

      @@mcelec7603 yes I thought so, but as the motor tries to rotate it pulls the edge of the plate onto thetube, the bottom bracket housing, possibly putting pressure on the drive shaft.
      Well in any case you had a rare freak failure of parts

      I smile because I told my wife almost the same thing a week ago.😃
      One of the rear suspension components had broken then. Now I'm trying to identify a crackling sound.
      It seems the technology has had enough of the 5000 km a year.
