I got a cheater on my team yesterday while I was on Ana. I switched to lifeweaver, formed an alliance with the enemy team and spent the rest of the game pulling the cheater into the enemy team where they immediately got smoked. We lost but it was 1000% more satisfying than if I had won with the cheater.

Had a Hanzo/Mercy hacker/boosted yesterday. First kill cam I saw it was BLATANTLY obvious they were cheating. Called them out in game chat only for their team to start talking shit and telling me I'm just jealous. Went on to have them in the next 3 out of 5 games. All 3 times the enemy straight didn't give a damn if their team was cheating. I just turned off the game. I'm so over this bullshit.
Regardless how shitty the game is that’s the best option to do when encountering sad people online

@@mongrel1308 my rank varies pretty widely across roles. From Diamond to Silver. My tank sits in Plat, Support is Diamond, and DPS is Silver because I rarely play enough of that to raise my rank. Either way, I've seen that attitude in every rank I play. Granted, I'm barely out of metal rank but you'd think at least Diamond players would have a better attitude but they usually don't.

I won’t lie… your cheaters content is probably my favorite Overwatch content period. Thankfully I haven’t seen too many cheaters in my games (not that I’d recognize if I did), but I’m always on the lookout.
Watching him use his E at the start of a fight, forget the button exists when he’s half health shooting everyone, and then pressing it when he’s hiding in a room as if it’s gonna do anything. 😂

I've played against that cheater when I was doing support games in gold 1. Our tank would shut him down in nearly every fight as Sigma.
As for the dev team not responding to cheater reports. I would wager that part of the security/anti-cheat team got laid off as part of that gutting they went through. Which is why the automated system is so hilariously trigger-happy rn. Before there was probably a person verifying it, now it's just automatic "you said the f word, ban." as opposed to "this person said horrific things about your mother and said to unalive yourself, we will give you a warning for your language in response but the other person will be silenced."
You know, in Valorant you get punished for helping/queuing with a cheater. OW should look into that, cuz the Mercy and Zen deserve it

This is proof that the game is not performing anywhere close to the numbers Blizzard claims. If you are in Gold5-Gold1 and you run into the same player three games in a row, that is crazy. This is normal in high Elo (top 500), but Gold is the most common Elo. So the fact that they found each other three times is crazy. Tons of veterans have given up completely on the game, myself included, and they act like this doesn't matter, but in reality, Overwatch is slowly dying.

Yeah, Flats makes a great point. I get the principle of banwaves, but that doesn't mean they can't do anything inbetween. Cheaters like this get a free pass for months on end.
@@AB-fh9zh Doing smaller waves in between the big ones directly makes the big waves less effective. Theres a reason why most devs go with this approach, Thor on Pirate Software talked about this during all the Apex shenanigans. The more consistent the bans, the more data points hackers have to work around bans.

i may be wrong, but isnt hard pocketing a cheater a bannable offense? i was under the impression that enabling the cheater like that was lumped in with boosting, regardless of whether you are duoing with them
Indeed, they can lose their account. In the past myself and others, when it's obvious a cheater is being pocketed we reported them both. Few days later got the account action notification.
That's not feasible, there's no way to tell for sure if your teammate is cheating during the game. Even if you witness something really sus you can't determine if that was cheating, luck, or lag etc. and you can't just trust when someone accuses someone otherwise every game would have someone accusing someone else of cheating to try to get their team to throw. It is what it is and it's not up to the players to police it. It's up to the anti cheat to keep them out of our games so we don't have to think about that kind of thing.
@@420RittzBish If the enemy team is giving you a heads up about someone on your team being a potential cheater, you can at the very least take into consideration of the accusation instead of HARDPOCKETING the person being accused. Especially when even without being able to see the kill cams you are aware you’re in gold and “wow strange how my tank who was accused of cheating keeps hitting so many headshots/getting a lot of kills that normal tanks in my rank wouldn’t get” should be in your head. And if they think it’s a Smurf instead, still insanely gross to default hardpocket them.

As someone who recently started playing Magua, and is still only semi-confident in his gaming abilities overall, those were some of the worst Magua E's I've ever seen. It doesn't take many neurons to have an understanding of when to use it, but they managed to still come short of that threshold.

Why stay on Sombra if the cheater can always see you? That's just a self-inflicted wound.
Even though you can see her, Sombra is still huge counter to ball and generally a lot of the team comp the cheaters team was running, at least IMO. If she times things right, can counter Balls movement/abilities/ult, Mercy's Rez, Moira's ult, Ashe's ult, etc.

The attitude that "why would you win with a cheater?" Is sometimes not valid anymore. I turned off all my chats because I'm sick of dealing with shitty people so i wouldn't know if someone on my team is cheating unless it were obvious in the kill feed. Lately, I've seen a lot of people suggest turning off all chats to make the game better.
i mean you have to have actual braindamage not to see that the twitching mauga locking on to 5 different targets isnt cheating, theres being good at the game and theres blatantly cheating
@skyler7017 yeah, that's fair for someone like this or someone who's spin botting, but there's a lot of subtle cheaters and unless they're dominating the kill feed with headshots or I'm completely focused on them it's not always easy.
True. That's what I did when I used to play any game like this. OW2 and League, just turn off all chats and only play when you can group with a few friends in voice chat.
Unfortunately, I gave up on both games. Even with chat off, the community just got too damn toxic and frustrating.
Even then if everyone gave up their ranked games each time their team is cheating, it would just end up with everyone in bronze lol. They are everywhere in metal.

I was playing a game as Mercy and three enemy players started saying our Zarya was cheating. Since I couldn't see it from their perspective, I just took their word and decided to not heal or damage boost the Zarya (I'm not about to enable a cheater!). Later on, the Zarya added me and told me that I was going to get mass reported for "throwing" because I chose to not heal him. He told me he has a "substantial following" who were all going to report me and then messaged me my battletag.
I feel you! I played today and I just started playing like not even a month ago and I got accused of cheating. I honestly don't understand why they were saying that. I was playing mystery heros, and I've gotten pretty good at like Moria. I was playing mystery heros so I could learn the characters. The only thing I can figure is that they think i was cheating bc I'm better at some characters more than others. I'm not sure. Just kinda wanted another person's opinion and you seemed nice lol sorry for all that lol

(I’m low gold & was playing Ashe) There’d be times where my aim was popping off (though I missed most of my shots lol) and I predicted a falling sombra after she went invisible, killing her. I ended up getting the most elims in the lobby and we won. The enemy team didn’t like it at all and immediately started saying I was aim botting :,)
No lie that I had a duo in my game, on my team, a cheating Bap and a Mercy just hard pocketing him. We found out end of first round that he was cheating from the enemy. My team literally peeled for him with their lives after learning that. Meanwhile I tried throwing the rest of the whole match to try and attempt to give the enemy the win.
Long story short. Enemy team ended up trash talking me, saying that it didn't matter cause I still got the win in the end. I ended up leaving the game cause the win was not that important. I'd rather take the L then support a cheater and his Mercy that he's clearly boosting.
Reported both. Surprisingly got a thank you for reporting for both of them.
