Wow. Hasan has really stood out as a guest host. This is one of the best toe to toe debates I have seen in a long time. Hasan is delivering the "truth" in an incredibly intelligent, empathetic and straight forward way. He did his homework and was totally prepared for this conversation.. So impressed. I hope he becomes the permanent host.
*_Hasan Miinhaj is doing the numbers as a guest host. He needs to be the permanent host!!!_*
His last comment at very end was gold 😂🤣🥇🥇🥇🏆

Miss Patriot Act
hasan showed a lot of heart here, but kevin showed a lot more brains. respect to both
We literally get better journalism from these comedy shows than most media houses in the US.
That’s the truth.
I mean, how can you expect journalism from 'media houses'? They are biased, have agendas and care more about the media aspect than the journalism.
It's exactly why you won't see the powers that be ever on a show like this. Kevin O'Leary (Mr. Wonderful) underestimated Hasan because usually people like him will never come on a show without agreeing to exactly what the interview questions will be.
The journalism isn't accurate. All of these people parrot the lie that the police routinely gun down unarmed black Americans, and they refuse to tell the truth that it's a lie and the top social scientist in the U.S. (who's black) disproved it way back in 2015. Everything from the police lie to the lies about Trump are all legit lies. This interview is ridiculous. Hasan is constantly making rude and insulting comments to a smart and polite guess who literally ignores the insults and disrespect because he's a professional.
I'm not sure you mean "journalism" here.
So intense. I can't believe Kevin stayed on and engaged in the discussion. Wish more conversations like this could be had.
I agree. This was real. Both interesting and even educational.
Calvin is a liar.
I think his negotiations on shark tank are more heated, I think he mopped the floor with Hasan and actually was leading the conversation despite not being the host all while taking insults from the host.
@@randyg6409My man, let me be real with you. A bit unclear why I have to point this out. *"I think what you are doing is wrong"* is not an insult.
A disillusioned cause-effect-based conclusion placed as a question for another. Begs with actual curiosity, "are you aware or able to become aware of the effect your finance advice has on those in a tax bracket unable to take the % of their money's loss which you can take?"
I am aware capitalism is not big on solidarity and empathy. *But that's how societies are formed, and when healthy, how they function.*
Although I did love Trevor Noah’s Daily Show career, I must ask: PLEASE GIVE HASAN MINHAJ THE DAILY SHOW!… Since the days of Jon Stewart I had not seen such masterful, well-informed, viewer-relevant interviewing at the show; Hassan thrives sitting with the audience in the discomfort of the tough questions and delivers huge laughs with the best timed jokes ever without even leaving that discomfort zone, nor making light of the seriousness of the topic; if that is not a gifted and engaging host, then I don’t know what is!
Angie, I just left the same message you did, in spirit. But you said it way more eloquently than I’d did! I totally agree with you about Hasan
100% - Patriot Act already prooved what Hasan is capable of and he definitely shows his skills rn! Didn't even notice that the Daily Show was back until he put it on the map
Can't agree more. And he genuinely cares about getting to the truth for his viewers
I want to add 5k worth of thumbs up on this comment. Hasan should 1000% be the host.
Could not agree more. Hasan Minhaj 100% deserves the spot.
We were in the live audience for this, and you could tell in his eyes that Hasan was passionate about this topic, and truly was looking out for people like us. Respect for the way he stopped the booing and wanted to have a conversation, not just grill him.
🙌🏼
Yea really like he stop that . Respect
Speak up, Hasan needs to be the host.. And you know bless you for taking that risk... I mean I know it's his son but it's still a guest host of the daily show you don't know what you're gonna get but I will be furious if he does not become the host
@@theduckfromthejoke152 Hasan had a show but it tanked. His style is a lot like John Oliver only with better graphics but not as showy. Perhaps if he could do this style of interviewing people that could add a new formula for success. Doubt that the corporate owners and show producers want to go out on a limb like that.
Hasan knows he has 1 week to basically redo his old TV show. He's very gifted and I don't know why his old show was canceled. I watched him always on Netflix and youtube. Loved it! But as guest here points out, in the end you go with a winner. Sadly, that isn't Hasan.
you know what gets me tho?
I HATE what Kevin says but I like the guy because of his charisma....I guess thats how he makes so much money.
Take note Comedy Central, Hasan is the type of person we need behind the desk. If he thinks he can handle being back in the media, I would love for him to get the desk. Trevor had a great tenure on the Daily Show and did his passionate interviews, but seeing Jon's influence through Hasan is special.
100% Hasan is a gift!
Hasan is the best call if he wants it. Otherwise I prefer Handler as my two choice.
Absolutely!
i've really enjoyed some of the guest hosts, but if they don't pick Hasan, it'll be criminal.
As soon as he did the first show, I was like...if we don't get patriot act- gimme hasan behind the desk
Honestly this guy is smart. Kevin started off insisting he lost 18mil personally but Hasan managed to hit him with questions until he admitted casually that he only lost 1.25mil
I get why he would say that but even though he didn’t cash in the crypto, I’d still go with he lost $18,
Mil. Not defending him.
I think hee lost the 18 mil total (what he got in endorsments and 1.25m personal)
Minhaj Rocks. I appreciate that he's asking tough Q's but is still respectful to his guests. It makes it so much more pleasant to watch.
Hasan is the only guest host capable of having this debate (of the ones we’ve seen so far). He should become permanent.
He talks way too much and is unprofessional, love Hasan but he not the man for the job

@@rinez662 unprofessional? On the daily show???!
@Riñez the only thing unprofessional about him is his getting a bit too excited and clicking his pen
unbelievable performance! he played him like a fiddle!
Whether he gets the job or not, Hasans stock just skyrocketed. Jon Stewart when he watches this has to be proud. Hasan was born for this. Man of the people who scored zero points in the Celebrity All-Star game
Absolutely. This segment was a master class in informative/performative media and had the perfect ratios of continual audience management, proving Hasan did his topical due diligence by debating properly with requisite financial vernacular, refusing to lick his boots with softball questions -- including hard-hitting opener questions, relentless follow-up, and punishing topic redirects. Hasan refused to let things devolve into a free-for-all when it would've been deceptively easy, especially considering the very reputation of that current in-studio guest. Hasan is utterly fair-minded and he has an uncommon innate sense of when he should draw away or push back. Hasan doesn't just talk to hear himself talk like so many other hosts throughout the lengthy history of television.
100% super-talent hasan minhaj

The BEST interview. He grinded Kevin so hard while being so respectful and passive-aggressive. Love him so much. Make him permanent!
Never cared for Shark Tank but Kevin O'Leary is the epitome of don't hate the player, hate the game. And he still tries to help out other people in the game. Love Hasan a lot but he should have asked for a solution.
Respectful?? Saying that people who do cameos, such as Kevin, are psychopaths, sycophants, and grifters. And that comment wasn't even logical as the definition the word grifter is "a person who engages in petty or small-scale swindling", and who would Kevin be a sycophant towards?
And he was insulting to Buffett and Munger calling them "ghost" and "coffin-dodgers."
Some idea of respect!

Hasan is the only guest host so far that can actually keep more complex conversations in line, laser focus on the actual questions, and be real and funny. Great balance of entertainment and serious talk.
No- eve though Hasan is my fave and I miss Patriot Act- that was too confrontational. People will watch cat fights -but not dog fights. His heart was in the right place but - if he hopes to return back on air long term, he’s got to rip a page from O’Learys book and stay collected, font smbush guests, it’s hard to watch after awhile, plus he start to struggle with bringing guests on his show with opposing views. BC he’s annihilating the person in the guest chair. He’s got to be civil for the long game. He needs to create some promised bit of safety for the guests, not cutting them off, not making them feel ambushed and rushed out of a reply etc
I wish Hasan would led the guests just talk, he's always jumping in to make a joke. Just let the guy talk!
@@cechmaster thats his job when things get very serious, he has to cut the tension briefly
@@cechmaster - I'm so with ya. "jumping in to make a joke." Great observation. Although this has been going on for decades with most late night shows/hosts. I find it childish and annoying. Ooops, I forgot, and lazy. "Just let the guy talk."
@@InviteTheLightReadings - Great comment. Sell out from the beginning. P.S.: I didn't see this interview as hard hitting. I saw it as 'tossing softballs, underhand.'
I watched this live yesterday. It was DEEP. The respect they gave each other and the respect for discourse generally was unprecedented. I was impressed that they could disagree and still have a respectful conversation.
He has Jon's humor and investigative push to call out BS, but also Trevor's ability to win an argument without making enemies
I envy you
The finance guy was in the hotseat and had to make up for the manners Hasan's interview style rightfully did without. Backstabbing hypemen like this weasel Should get drilled And smeared. @@bazingaburg8264 I do agree with you that it def got uncomfortably intense at some points. But it was absolutely perfect for the topic and the person being interviewed

Dude, that was one of the best shows that I have seen on the Daily Show. This is to the executives at the Daily Show, HASAN has earned this position.
Hasan is absolutely killing it. A lot of the guest hosts have been funny delivering the headlines, but this style of deep nuanced interview and debate intertwined with quick wit comedy while being educational and informative is what the host needs to have and what sets him apart. This was a masterclass. Give this man the permanent host job!
This was a really interesting interaction and interview. I appreciate how Hasan kept going after the hard questions and points. I also really appreciate how patient Kevin was with all of it. He's a tough guy on TV a lot and rarely do you see the tough guy who can take it as well as give it out.
The ability to have a debate like this on the Daily Show should be a capstone assignment you have to pass to become a permanent host.
Hasan passed with an A+ - this was truly remarkable.
This seems like a spiritual continuation of Jon's interview of Jim Cramer. Hassan kills with cuteness, while Jon did it with pure rage. This is such an insightful yet savage discussion. Kudos.
Very apt comparison.
"Are you a great investor or spokesperson? I think you are the latter." This is The Daily Show we've been missing, we need more of this and definitely more of Hasan Minhaj.
My Man! Hasan truly embodied the spirit that John gave to the Daily Show. No pulling punches while keeping it funny and respectful. Trevor was pure comic genius during his tenor, and a brilliant host, but this felt like old school Daily Show.
Well explained. Thank you for bringing up this video. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject ..... Thanks to Mylah Evander the lady you recommended.....

I know it’s not new for the daily show, but it’s incredible that you can get more hard hitting interviews and serious discussion from a comedy show than you can get from the news organizations.
To be fair, I don’t think Kevin knew that this would be how the interview went. If he did, he may not have signed up, as many others may choose to do after if they knew it would be hard hitting
@@sciencebunny tbh the daily show is known for this interview style so he shoulda been prepared
Daily Show under Stewart became more legitimate than most mainstream media. It's been so ever since.
I mean Hassan did a piece on FTX and named Kevin on that segments as one of the investors. So I feel like he could've expected this, and known it was gonna be about FTX etc. Plus, Kevin probably is always ready for conversations like this.
What watch is Kevin wearing? Looks like an Apple Watch but he has a whole video saying he would never wear a consumer electronic as a timepiece. So please let me know?
I also hope Hasan Minjah becomes the permanent host. Always amazed by his intelligence, zest, ethics, moral compass and well informed position. I don't think they are interviewing with these guest hosts, I think they are stop gap comedians poised to give us laughs so we don't miss Trevor and Jon. However, Hasan is the first of those comedians who would be a viable candidate.
One of the best interviews I have ever seen. Also big respect for Kevin to come on the show and face this very tough interview head on. 10/10
Now this is a debate - substance and just enough civility.
Loved Sarah Silverman as guest host, but as an old school daily show fan, seeing this interview was the first time I thought someone could really fill in Jon Stewarts shoes. Incredibly impressive and substantial conversation
Well said!
Same reaction! Loved Sarah and Chelsea - but Hasan is Jon Stewart level.
Right? This had "Jon goes to Crossfire" vibes. It's timely, personal, and I love it. More Hasan please!
Yea. He brought it to him. Could do with some sharpening of skills and a tad bit more listening, but yea I’m with you. If we could have Sarah Silverman do the show and Hasan do the interviews killer combo. That’s what was great about Stewart, not afraid to challenge the guests and put them under pressure. Hasan does that with a tad less tact but that can improve.
I loved Silverman too but Minhaj is just so much more natural at being a comedian AND an interviewer. It’s not about the chuckles, it’s about the truth. And getting his audience there. I can’t wait to see Kal Penn the week after. He’s also got the resume to toe to toe with Stewart and Noah.
This was intense, great interview by Hassan and ever bigger props to Kevin for answering all questions
Yeah... He stayed calm despite clearly being miffed about being taken to task. And I'd say that most of his "answers" were simply justifications for the often shadily unfortunate realities of avoidably irresponsible profiteering.
This is an incredible and fair interview. So glad Kevin got called out on all his shady antics - especially the negative impacts of his cameo.
One of the best interviews in the Daily Show for a while. Hassan has been killing it, but Kevin held his own.
man i gotta love how he didn't back down. most people wouldn't be able to push anyone this far because this is very uncomfortable. even watching this made me uncomfortable but hasan drove home the point and doubled down on it when he was being pushed back. these uncomfortable but important interviews/debates are needed a lot more and he is the perfect man for it.
Hasan is EXACTLY The kind of host this show needs! He's so smart and knowledgeable about the topics he's discussing, that he can do it in a way that's funny without it having to be entirely scripted. Like, there's no way that was entirely scripted. He was able to ask follow-up questions that proved he really truly understood the topic at hand. Congrats Hasan you're amazing, And I really hope you take/get the permanent position!!!

he started here on tds, Jon Stewart really knows how to pick 'em!
Kevin’s problem seems to be that he has completely lost touch. Hassan’s point that most people can’t afford the losses and trust Mr. Wonderful and end up holding the bag is valid but Kevin can never admit he’s right.
Most people aren’t children. And if you play in the bigboy markets and are taking your sole advice from one man you see on tv, then any losses you take, you deserve. Kevin gives his opinions like a few hundred other analysts do on television around the world. Most ‘regular’ people have their money in index funds through 401K’s. So keep doing what you're doing, Hasan. You're killing it, and I can't wait to see what you do next! and yes ofc #HASSANFORHOST
Cheers
Well said.
Hasan killed it! That was gutsy! This episode can open many doors for him
This interview made me respect each of them more. Kevin did an amazing job listening and one could argue was even more respectful than Hassan. Well done!
You're definitely not a FTX victim 😂
Huh? Kevin kept interrupting when Hasan kept saying, hold on let me finish. You must be related to Kevin or employed by him. 😂
@@CynthiasTikka Yes because he never let Kevin speak. He kept trying to get his agenda out that somehow Kevin owes people something. He is allowed to give his opinion, grown adults can make their own choices.
Congrats to Hasan for being such a host and big respect for Keving for being open and comfortable with this conversation.
He was far from comfortable
I haven’t been this excited to watch the Daily Show in years. I actually have tuned in live just to see Hasan. Give him the job
Hello beauty how're you doing today, you really looks Gorgeous and can't resist to say Hi, I will appreciate you add me up here.💝🌹
100% agree. His energy is so refreshing.
200% agree they should just give him his chair. We all know Trevor would support this
I believe they better hosts for the last few weeks, but he fits the show. He is perfect
300% agree
I really enjoyed how Hasan made sure that his audience didn't boo the guest. That alone keeps everything in order. Would love to have Hasan as a permanent host.
Comedy Central, PLEASE keep having Hassan Minhaj do this. This is one of the best TV interviews I’ve seen in my life.
Hasan did a stellar job with the interview! Right up there with Jon Stewart! And I have to tip my hat to Kevin for keeping his cool and being respectful. Hope Hasan gets the permanent host position! This interview was riveting!
Daily Show, you've found your permanent host.
I'm seriously impressed with Hasan!
Thank you Kevin O'Leary and Hasan Minhaj for this open conversation.
I have never watched a 34min interview before. I love this guy
I rarely comment on these shows, but I am amazed at Hasan. This shows, and the last few have just been terrific. Best of the guest hosts so far.
They really have to make him the permanent host, I been seeing it for years now, he really is a special talent, I legit cannot think of anyone more fit for the job
The fact that Hasan was able to keep up with Kevin O'Leary's narrative and push back against some of his statements was super impressive. He knew what he was talking about and managed to sprinkle some comedic elements along the way. I learned a lot in this video!
I think the Daily Show should give the guests who are able to stay through the grilling an award. Something small like a mallot. They can go home and hit themselves with it whenever they recall the show.
This was intense. Especially towards the end. Mad props to both men for having civil discord
Phenomenal host - pushed an intellectual conversation thoughtfully and kept the energy positive. Hope he gets the permanent job!
I’ve loved every guest host so far. Hasan just cemented GOAT level with this interview. If he’s available, get this man on contract.
This was straight fire. He handled that conversation wonderfully and allowed for a great dialogue! #Props
This is the best one on one argument I have seen on the daily show. It suits you, bro.
Man Hasan is GRILLING HIM! Bro needs to be the permanent host. I’d never miss a show.
Yes!
I second this
I made be lost but I don’t see the grilling, he’s negative about all the things that he do which I don’t see as this was difficult for Kevin.
Hasan is the guy. He is the personality the daily show needs
Honestly I don't think Hasan really stuck the landing, but I really appreciate what he was trying to do. I think he needs a little more practice handling these kinds of situations, and I agree with the direction he is taking whole heartedly! Hasan was definitely my favorite guest host, and I hope to keep seeing more of him!
I’m so glad I watched this. He’s seriously impressive! Masterful interviewer!
Mr Kevin O Leary was a graceful guest. I loved how poise his demeanor was amidst all the hot shots fired by Hassan. In all it was a really brilliant conversation. Kudos to you both and Kudos to Hassan for asking the tough questions and not just suckering up like I see most of the time
You bought his shtick
1st mucho respect for Kevin... why would you go in front of him unprepared?
2nd, seeing Hassan doing his version of Jon Stewart, only less endearing... he may be the best one yet... but no.
We need Hasan back on TV actively doing this work. In a world where people are easily fooled because of social media, I appreciate his interview skills and he pairs it well with satire.
He’s literally just riding Kevin’s meat the whole time
I’m surprised he didn’t bring up the boating “accident” that killed someone in the ONLY other boat on the lake after 1am while either he or his wife was operating under the influence! I am duly impressed with Hasan! I’d love to see him as the host! Granted, he doesn’t have Trevor’s cute dimples, but still…I think he was behind the wheel but had his wife take the fall. Not so wonderful.
He did important work on Patriot Act and then for some unknown reason, the show was pulled, leaving many people to try and come up with a reason as to why. I personally think he stepped on some powerful people's toes and Netflix was forced to cancel it.
Let's not forget, he's totally fine giving out random advice when he's not going to be financially responsible for the outcome. Obviously when he's managing his investment firm, he's going to do the right thing because he's financially responsible for the results.
Because he has no obligation to you or the public. He is allowed to render an opinion, its your choice to listen.
This conversation is truly dynamic and interactive, I mean it awesome
Kevin knows that every interview or show he appears on is just more exposure, which magnifies his brand. This is why he's become pretty graceful about handling criticism because he knows that even a tough interview like this is still a net positive. The more money you already have, the easier it is to fall upward
Well said.
This is absolutely brilliant. It's even better than holding his feet to the fire. It's teaching your audience how to make fire in modern day finance. Thank you, Hasan. I hope you get the gig because you're the smartest of the hosts so far and the Daily Show brand, since Jon Stewart, has been all about being smarter than everyone else in the late night show business.
well said
And we need a late night host unlike the rest, he definitely meets that.
I sincerely hope he wants the job and they offer it to him. Based on some of the "realness" of the grifting media rants from this one, I'm not sure if he's interested in being the new Jon
He talked over him to a level that was ridiculous. He made almost provable statements. He also thinks he is a smarter investor. He also acted like he was listening just to prove he wasn't. I'm disappointed because I have been a fan. You don't need to put down your guest on a set up one time show to prove how smart you are. He will not last this way.
AMEN. That’d be a dream. Don’t know if he wants it. But I want it. Of him. Would be what we need.
I own two businesses and I have literally received 100+ calls and voicemails trying to bait me into the employee retention BS. Thanks a lot Kevin.
This is probably the most informative investing video on CZcams.
This conversation is the definition of we don't have to like each other opinion, but we can respect each other position.
I’ll never respect people that are garbage like Kevin is, no matter how “respectable” they seem.
Wow. Wow wow wow. This gave me chills. Hasan is at the top of his game, and I absolutely love the financial acumen and business knowledge he brought to this very difficult interview. I haven’t felt this way watching a Daily Show clip since the Jon Stewart days. Give this man the job.
It was very Jon Stewart - like
Lol what business knowledge or business acumen? He’s a complete idiot.
Its no mistake that they paired them together. Im wondering why they decided to have kevin on the show in the first place (fly on the wall stuff). Hassan is a natural and very experienced political satirist and host so no question there.
I hope Hasan gets the next daily show host. I'd watch every day. I loved his Netflix series and was sad when it ended. This interview shows he can actually interview people and has the courage to say answer the question.
I'm really glad I watched this. Thank you Hasan. The mutual respect was refreshing.
